The charm of 1v1 to me is that unique sets are way more common than in other metas (especially OU). In 1v1 you can viably run something crazy like AV gogoat, while in OU you’ll see nothing but tapu’s, lando-t, and Ultra Beasts on almost every team with the same sets each time. The freedom and diversity in 1v1 is insane

Lightning Rod Mega Sceptile was a hilarious Koko answer, and it did quite well in that era of sm1v1. An unmon is an unusable pokemon, something outclassed or not considered viable by the playerbase (ex. Ledian, Marowak, Fearow, Shedinja).

the only ultra beasts ever used were kartana and celesteela and cele had a major falling out by the end of the tier, wasnt used often.
