Hockey BRO I don’t think it was the grand slam, I think it was the 3 run homer against LA. At the end you could see him getting emotional. Great story.
It is astounding how you keep coming up with these creative ideas and maintain this consistency! This is what makes you one of the greatest sports channels on RUclips! Great job!
had to rewatch 9:10 a couple times.. the size of that crowd and the noise they make. ALL the emotion.. that's what this sport is about, you don't see that much now a days. Love it
I remember going to Wrigley years ago and watching Travis Wood going 2 for 2 hitting two home runs and at his third at-bat they intentionally walked him. Amazing game
@@Alanbaseball Because of the offense. Reds had arguably the best pitching in the league in 2019 and have been top 5 for like three years now. The entire team just cannot fucking hit the baseball.
Okay, I have five things to say. 1. For those who don’t know, Bumgarner hit TWO grand slams and TWO homers off Kershaw, even though one of each was included in this video. 2. Save the best for last! 3. In Part 2, could you include Arrieta’s homer as a Philly against the Giants? I may or may not have caught the ball. 4. While Ohtani is a pitcher, he is also a DH, so I don’t think his home runs should be included in this video, even though his first homer was an incredible moment. 5. Another amazing video from EXE-Edits! Love this channel! Edit: 6. For everything that’s gone wrong for the Reds this year, it’s nice to see they’ve had some amazing moments with those pitcher bombs.
@@heelcharisma1553 *sigh* That's not DHing. Bumgarner hit for himself once against the A's, but he has never been penciled in as anything but a 1 on the lineup card.
The second Lorenzen home run shown is much better than the grand slam. It was the first of his career and happened a day or two after his father passed away. He even changed his entrance song that night to honor him.
The only people who DIDN'T vacate the Mets dugout when Bartolo went deep were Kevin Plawecki, who was already on base; Curtis Granderson, who was the guy on deck; and David Wright, the guy due up after Granderson
The DH in the AL in the 70s was one thing, but the MLB really changed the game forever in ‘22 by adding the DH in the NL. I am old school, but i’ll always believe...if you are one of the nine starters, you should bat...PERIOD. It’s how the game was supposed to be played.
Haha no. You just watched a highlight video of the best pitcher at bats this century. Most of the time its an easy out hole in the lineup. DH brings some extra power to anyone's lineup and lets sluggers stay in the league longer on teams that already have a good 1B and RF.
First off, great video idea. Very fun to watch. Hope there's a part 2. Second, if anyone knows the answers to these, that would be awesome: How many times has a pitcher hit a HR in the postseason? And, has a pitcher ever had their 1st hit be a HR?
I know there are other pitchers who have hit home runs, but obviously I can't include them all :)
I hope you enjoy the video!
EXE-Edits hey buddy. I got a request for ya. Can you do mlb postseason ejections.
EXE-Edits do pitchers hitting walk off homeruns
micah owings with the diamondbacks used to absolultely murder the ball
how about just American league pitchers going yard.
As long as you included Big Sexy, mission accomplished
It’s good to know Reds pitchers are good for something
ROFL
Lmao
I’m a reds fan that really hurt me
I believe Cincy actually has one of the best eras this season.
😭
Bumgarner looked at his home run too long, is he going to fight himself?
3v3rs1 Seriously underrated comment 😂
Gold
Give this man a 🥇
He might bean himself on the next at-bat!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Should've jut had a 10 minute loop of Bartolo Colon's homer.
You mean the greatest baseball moment of all time.
Greatest moment is when Cole hit the homer as a pirate
Agreed by Rick astley
Or zack grienke’s homer
Bartolo did it the best
The fact that lorenzen consistently mashes dingers is unbelievable.
He played outfield in college
It is
His dad actually died the day before that grand slam
He was batting .600+
Hockey BRO I don’t think it was the grand slam, I think it was the 3 run homer against LA. At the end you could see him getting emotional. Great story.
Lorenzen has such a beautifully perfect swing. So satisfying.
When your pitcher is batting .600 and hitting homers
Ryan Nottelling and hes a reliever
Ryan Nottelling And his era is over 6 lol!
Darren Kastl lorezens isn’t over 6, he’s one of the reds best relievers
Darren Kastl r/youngpeopleyoutube
Lorenzen is a BEAST
3:48 DeGrom can’t get any run support so he does it himself lmao
I’m a cubs fan, but Micheal Lorenzen deserves our respect.
Novawolf
Uh no smartass, that’s not the point, and also lorenzen has hit a pinch hit home run this season against the cubs.
Same
I’m a Reds fan :)
Much respect to the rebuild the Cubs went through, to being the team they are today!
Michael Lorenzen can play every position
When a reds pitcher, a relief pitcher for that matter, mike lorenzen, had more home runs in June(3) than Bryce harper(2) this season🤷♂️
M.Feely07 😮
:57 This was just a couple of days after Lorenzen lost his father, and his first HR in the majors
Bartolo’s homerun is the greatest moment in baseball history after the cubs winning the world series
No one cares about the cubs win it doesn't count Cleveland choked so
@@kingsavagebruh147 so does your comment

That means a lot, thank you!
10:09 best moment ever. I loved how the ball went straight to a lone cubs fan(in that section at least)
lol I also caught an Arrieta homer, his first one as a Philly
had to rewatch 9:10 a couple times.. the size of that crowd and the noise they make. ALL the emotion.. that's what this sport is about, you don't see that much now a days. Love it
10:36 R.I.P.
He passed way too soon!
I remember going to Wrigley years ago and watching Travis Wood going 2 for 2 hitting two home runs and at his third at-bat they intentionally walked him. Amazing game
Shohei Ohtani: “I’m about to end this video’s whole career.”
Apparently Reds pitchers are better at hitting than pitching
Aston Boyd They gods at both
Jack Schmaltz yeah, better than crappy cubs pitching.
Jack Schmaltz if they’re gods then y were they 4th in the NL central
Monald Zump it’s just the bullpen now
@@Alanbaseball Because of the offense. Reds had arguably the best pitching in the league in 2019 and have been top 5 for like three years now. The entire team just cannot fucking hit the baseball.
can't forget colon

just say you caught the ball
Meanwhile Otani is leading the league in Hr’s 😂😂😂
Do the Giants let Bumgarner DH during interleague games?
I mean, if not, WTF.
They have.
@@heelcharisma1553
Ummmm, no they haven't. Bumgarner has NEVER DH'd in an interleague game.
@@CanadaMMA Ummmmmm, he has hit in an American League ballpark. They forfeited the DH so he could hit.
@@heelcharisma1553
*sigh*
That's not DHing. Bumgarner hit for himself once against the A's, but he has never been penciled in as anything but a 1 on the lineup card.
@@CanadaMMA You get the point. Don't need to be a keyboard warrior.
Of course you ended with colon lol it makes me smile every time I see this clip
Who would’ve thought Clayton Kershaw would give up a home run to Madison bumgarner? That’s pretty cool.
To think he did it FOUR TIMES
Was it in the playoffs? Kershaw getting smoked then isn’t a surprise.
glad to see my reds have better hitting pitchers than actual pitchers
lol at least they're slowly resurging
Mike VM3 now we have ultra dong
Brayden Goins do you go to Notre dame in Welland, Ontario
Needs more Bumgarner! His other grand slam at least.
Wow, thought they were gonna miss Bartolo and the greatest HR ever hit. I appreciate it being last, though it really deserves its own video.
Pitchers hitting triples
reds pitchers rake
So does whoever they play against
I like the pitcher when they run the bases they’re faces are like I been doing this for 29 years look
When Colon hit that homerun, I believe he set the record for the oldest MLB player to hit his first homerun.
This is the baseball equivalent of a big guy touchdown.
Jose Fernandez actually hit that ball really well. Rip king 👑
Watching Carlos Zambrano hitting Home Runs was a favorite past-time of mine when I was a kid.
Ohtani checks back in.
I’ll never forget Liriano’s home run. He actually got pulled after hit because he injured himself on the swing.
11:54 God sighting
my favorite will always be Lorenzen's homer after his dad passed away. You can see him holding back the tears here after touching home plate.
The Cole train the greatest moment ever
patrick corbin is really good at giving up home runs to pitchers
there's a term for this.
I believe it's called "helping your own cause."
@ 3:47 the pitchers batting helmet is so clean it looks like they just unboxed it before the game.
I love big sexy's home run trot! He was just going to enjoy the moment!
Shohei be like : “That’s cute.”
That Colon shot was on the road and that place was jammed packed with Met fans...lol. That stadium probably has never been that loud, before or since.
Love the nl forget al
Joe Blanton are you kidding one of the greatest pitcher home Runs ever!
The second Lorenzen home run shown is much better than the grand slam. It was the first of his career and happened a day or two after his father passed away. He even changed his entrance song that night to honor him.
Best way to honor him. RIP
Madbum is the only pitcher who could hit a walk off slam and still be angry
What if the whole vids was Ohtani
As a reds fan I loved this
11:54 thanks for including the Goat
Gotta give a lot of credit to the Angels announcers, actually using an honorific when calling Ohtani's homerun.
I love how this video starts out with the 2 grand slams by the Reds pitchers
OMG! What a great moment. Bartolo Colon - HomeRun!
Man I still remember watching the Lorenzen rampage on TV
Same
In little league, the pitcher(s) were usually the best hitters on the team
Yeah because throwing and batting were a direct relationship, so only pitchers could bat 🤣
colon homer is history and the best i love this
i was about to say if the cubs vs giants 2016 nlds wasn’t on here i was gonna be surprised. pitchers hit really well in that series
We all know the one guy who will be on this video.
Big sexy!!!!
When MadBum hits homers it's always super impressive because he always pitches against the other team's ace.
My team is in the AL but I have no interest in seeing the DH brought to the NL. The system we have has worked for decades.
I agree 100% If it's not broke don't fix it
And so has the DH. Stop letting your 20 million a year pitchers get hurt doing something 95% of them cannot do.
The only people who DIDN'T vacate the Mets dugout when Bartolo went deep were Kevin Plawecki, who was already on base; Curtis Granderson, who was the guy on deck; and David Wright, the guy due up after Granderson

Bumgarner is a BEAST.
So many reds pitchers
Pretty sure that Lorenzen HR when he points at the air was the game after his father passed
And then there’s shohei leading the entire league in homers
Patrick Corbin gave was in a lot of these highlights giving up dingers lol
Some people say add DH in national league. I say get rid of DH all together I love watching pitchers hit.
Let the pitchers hit!! 😊😊
May cause an easy out on occasion but when they drive one out of the park it makes it all worth it
Agreed.
i don't know. Some pitchers are good at hitting and some pitchers get injured by it
Haha no. You just watched a highlight video of the best pitcher at bats this century. Most of the time its an easy out hole in the lineup. DH brings some extra power to anyone's lineup and lets sluggers stay in the league longer on teams that already have a good 1B and RF.
Adam wainwright and Carlos Martinez
Could've put John Gant's in there
UltraStaleMemer that was a bomb of a Homerun too lol
Or mikolas for the cards too
I hit myself when I saw your profile
Michael Lorenzen is amazing
What is with the d-backs and giving up home runs to pitchers?
And with a decent rotation too
The Dodgers too

Second, if anyone knows the answers to these, that would be awesome: How many times has a pitcher hit a HR in the postseason? And, has a pitcher ever had their 1st hit be a HR?
The Camo Uni’s have to be the reason their hittin dingers!
When Jose Fernandez hit his first homerun I literally called his shot
You could just make a whole video of Carlos Zambrano homers. Dude had a bunch for a pitcher.
I know the AL cant do it and a big use pinch hitters but have there been any walk-off HR by pitchers in recent memory?
I'm pretty sure that Joey Votto and the pitching staff are the only ones that show up to the Reds' batting practice.
4:45 How was that not overturned?!
I don’t know but maybe it was and they just didn’t include it
The first one is sick
In 1972 red sox pitcher sonny siebert hit six home runs that season
I wish I could like this twice
Where’s Felix Hernandez’s Grand Slam from 2008 off of Johan Santana should’ve put that on here.
lmao that fan definitely interfered with that matt harvey homer 4:50
Why was it not a loop of Bartolos homer
Yo where’s the Cardinals pitchers home runs
Reds place referred to as the Great American Smallpark
I'm surprised Bumgarnish didn't challenge every member of the other team to a fight as he rounded the bases for looking at him.
Bumgarner and Lorenzen highlight reel
What about Adam wainwright’s first ever AB being a dinger
Was hoping to see some Dontrelle Willis shots!
Colon looking for his first hit of the year
Why do most of them happen against the Diamondbacks?
Lorenzo is honestly so good
*When your pitcher gets the first run and RBI of the game*
It’s still crazy to see how Jon Lester and Bartolo hit a bomb 😂.
I was at the game where Desclafani jut that grand slam.
Damn the Reds know there pitchers
