I'll be honest, if I was the MC and my daughter splashes tea on me then suddenly does a 180 after she learns how successful I am, I would've gone cold too. He made the right call to cut ties. I think Moroboshi and company know why the MC was drenched. The maids were quite in shock and trying to hide their expressions, while the other guy had a stiff grin. Only Moroboshi had a natural smile on his face, as expected.
I know this is months late but I do believe they figured out what happened. The step-dad left it pretty clear when he said "Let's apologise next time we see him". If I had to think of how a follow up would go, the step-dad sets her straight.

But when she tried, her ex showed no interest and even seemed annoyed with her antics. She then thought she could threaten his new wife and scare her off. Too bad for her that not only was his new wife far more beautiful than she, but she also had far more power over her. Feeling threatened herself, she tried to forage some blackmail to make it look like his new wife was cheating on him. Unlucky for her, her ex was suspicious of her sudden actions and had some people trail her and caught her in her act before she could even put her plan into motion. Caught red handed, her ex husband exposed her actions to her current husband and her daughter. Seeing the ugly truth of her, the daughter stated her disgust and hatred of her and her new husband divorced her on the spot. She is now all by herself in a small apartment, abandoned by everyone and trying to make a living for herself by working as a hostess.

Need part 2 on this one. I'd like to see the reaction of her ex wife. I want the new husband to suffer a bit financially and for the MC to help him which will make his ex wife try to worm her way back in only to be swatted by the new gorgeous wife and for the husband of his ex to know the true nature of the woman, that she is only in it for the good times but will not stick around for the bad ones. I, eventhough i hate the daughter wants her to have a redemption arc, not just a fake kindness as she shown here. She realized her wrongdoings and the manipulation of her mother, and how she is becomes a spitting image of the character of her mother which will make her hate herself. By that time, she will be going to her own redemption and will promise not to contact her father until the time she fully cast aside her bad behavior.

In the last 2 years the father has had the opportunity to: - become president of an important company; - find a new girlfriend and get married; But hasn't he found the time or the way to meet his daughter?
