I have a Model y 2022 with Ultrasonic which had the visual update 3 weeks ago and just had the latest Updatte v12(2024.14.8) yesterday ,and it updated with which include tesla vision parking ...best of both world now....
There is an option to enable vision only parking sensors for cars with the ultrasound sensors. Also now shows brake and indicator lights of vehicles in front while driving.
The brake light and indicator now show on other traffic for my ‘21 M3 LR (intel, boo!), along with a significant amount more stuff rendered on the screen around the car. A huge amount of cars. We don’t get the new UI, but we appear to have had the upgraded AP vision.

Richard, you and your team needs to fly over to the US and drive around my properly equipped '24 Model Y Performance with Full Self Driving (Supervised) for comparison.
Today I drove ~150km through all kinds of rain on the German autobahn. Also a lot of misting from cars driving in front of me (in my mid-2022 model 3 rwd). I can say that the rain sensor definitely improved, however it still sucks. Reasons: - still pressed the manual wipe button like a 1000 times at least (cuz I like my rain removed while I can still see stuff) (to be fair, before it would’ve been 2-3 times as often so it’s still an improvement) - every time you do manually press the wipe button; you now have to scroll up and down to change wiper settings instead of left and right which blocks the audio volume -> this causes a lot of accidental wiper changes and causes dangerous situations - certain types of coverage of rain on the windshield are not detected (if the window is completely covered with a see through layer of water) - I still wish I could have a setting that increases the wipe speed as I often find it too slow
When I first got my MY last year, first time on Autopilot and the speed shot up, read around and their is a button to set speed to current speed or road traffic speed, so if this is on then it may speed up to speed limit
I've just done it but haven't driven the car yet. The thing I'm going to like most is the wiper controls. It drives me a little nuts but this will be better for sure. Now, if only Tesla vision could be adapted to control the wipers on AUTO setting.....
Where's the nice horizontal bar that shows you the acceleration / deceleration! I like to try and balance it to the middle in certain traffic conditions! They add but they take away. That's why I now hate software updates! Pisses me off!
I'm curious when most people got this update. As I got this update about 2 weeks ago. As far as I'm aware I'm usually in the first batch of updates in the UK. Sadly I've got the M3P 21 with the intel chip so not vision or new full screen graphics. Looking forward to 2024.20 with headlights that adapt to curves with living in the countryside!
Thank you for the video! I still wish my 2023 had the parking sensors because my Tesla vision is not nearly as reliable and still today is off every now and then.
Re. Tracking the speed limit, I found I can set this by touching the speed limit icon on the screen. It's a while since I used this as I prefer to set the speed target manually. 2022 Model Y with Ryzen chip and ultrasonic sensors.
I was hoping vision on cars with sensors would still show distance to objects. It does not. Shame, when you have the sensors as well. Switched it off and gone back to cameras and distance. Other stuff looks OK though.
So with speed limit change, I think the car will only do this if it is on auto navigate. i.e. when there is a single blue line rather than the two boarder lines. Thanks for another great video.
What about the new indicators? I've found them great for changing lanes on the motorway but they seem worse for roundabouts and single carriageway driving
It isn't for Ryzen only. I have a 21 with V12 for a couple of weeks now. They just remove some of the heavier graphical functions like being able to go full screen with the visuals. I did love the intelligent indicators that cancelled when the manoeuvre was complete (instead of 3 flashes) but I had another update on Monday and they've taken that off me 😢
Apart from Tesla Vision and larger display, especially the MPH display, not much changed. Where is the Power/Regen bar at the top of the screen - seems to have disappeared, can it be enabled? I thought the Autopilot Nag was being removed but no, it’s still there unfortunately.
Tesla leading the way as usual. No one else anywhere near in terms of software and value for money. My 72 plate Model Y better now than it was when I bought it.
Likes, the new chime for speed cameras and the fact it gives you your actual average speed through an average speed camera zone (although font a little small), Dislikes, the top of the screen now looks messy around the clock and lock icon, the throttle / regen bar is now very tricky to see (the speed got bigger and moved everything else), the full screen visualisation does nothing for me, and the media mini menu is not as good as it was. Plus if I'm paying £9.99/month then why cant the car down load updates via its own sim?, but over all very happy my Tesla gets a little better every couple of months.
Agreed, wish they'd focus on fixing the wipers still rubbish with new update and one late request I've been chasing, allow WhatsApp messages to sync with the car not just SMS, even my old Jag f-pace did that from 4yrs ago.
I Trawl all the Web for $TSLA NEWS - every dam day. When I see a YT release from you- I know I’m going to get Facts . BTW my UK MS now has v12 also 24.14.8
Not officially. I believe there's a fair bit of work involved mainly due to the wiring and different 12V battery, it would likely cost thousands, and it just wouldn't be worth it unless you can do it yourself. Even if you could do it yourself, you'd then have to get Tesla to update your cars configuration, i'm not even sure they would. I've got a 2020 Model 3 and have had this update for a couple of weeks, we're not missing much by the looks of it, just the full screen visualisation.
Thanks Richard. Quick question, does the '22 Camera only car show the high number of vehicles on the road like the sensor based car? I'd be interested to see the difference! TA
No, I've got a 2020 M3 with USS and I've had this update for a couple of weeks now. I've got the increased number of vehicles showing on my display, i just can't make it full screen due to the older intel system.
I am convinced the 2019/20 with FSD will never work due to the older computer not being able to handle the FPS. Interested how this plays out as I paid £5800 for a product that has yet to be released. Will older cars get new computers? I know Tesla keeps hassling me to upgrade. Is that their way out of this debacle?
At night please. I still feel the Tesla Vision is a distraction overall. Who wants images just out of eyeline "jigging and jagging" (will probably improve over time I suspect with further updates) as you pass down a road? Just seems like a gadget for gadgets sake (compared to excellent cameras and park sensors). But would be more useful going down dark poorly lit lanes etc. Seeing pedestrians or vehicles. Don't see the point of it showing parked cars/vehicles on a bright sunny day! Your eyes looking through the windscreen are the best for that.
I'm not sure why Tesla's automatic wipers are practically a joke to most people. I'm in the US, 2024M3LR, and have no particular complaints about the wipers. Not perfect, but not as bad as all of the complaints make it seem. An occasional dry wipe, but when it is raining, they start within about 30 seconds of when I want them, so no problem.
Try living in rainy, congested uk, entering torrential rain and what can often be described as the equivalent of an instant bucket of water thrown over your windscreen, and subsequently having no wipers kick in - it is extremely dangerous, you can experience zero forward vision, and find yourself in panic stations for that wiper stalk button. You have around 3 seconds if you're lucky, not 30!
It is the worst issue with the car by a long way. It will affect my car choice soon too. Doesn't help when you have a loud CEO telling us they are now fixed, sorry it took so long... Then in V12 they improve the way that manual wiping is selected. Why did they do that then? Because a rain sensor is the only way.
If you're unlucky enough to live in the UK like i do, it rains pretty much all the time, and the auto wipers are absolutely useless. I'm not saying they don't activate at all, they just take way too long, and they don't seem to react to spray from the roads, or that very fine rain.
The car not automatically speeding up to match the higher speed limit is regulatory compliance in the UK and Europe - it is not allowed to do so in the UK and Europe (even though it can), you have to manually set the driving speed to match the higher speed limit.
With v12.4, already in the hands of employees. Here's a 30-minute drive on v12.4 without a single steering wheel nag. Lots of nags for looking at his phone, but none to "Apply slight turning force to steering wheel"; ruclips.net/video/XY8_ckcJzZ8/видео.html.

When you move into a new speed zone, just touch the new speed on the screen and it will adjust to it.
Even better, hold down the drive selector stalk and it will do the same thing! (On cars with stalks at least)
Why do we have to do this manually?
But why you didn't test the Tesla Vision on the '22 with the ultra sonic sensors? :/
Why can't they include Navigation on this 3D models as well?
Agreed, wish they'd focus on fixing the wipers still rubbish with new update and one late request I've been chasing, allow WhatsApp messages to sync with the car not just SMS, even my old Jag f-pace did that from 4yrs ago.
I love my tesla with its stalks ❤
Tesla vision much better,FSD is coming guys, exciting times ,M3P must be close now Rich, cheers guys 👍😉💪
Is there an option to turn all the tesla vision stuff off to extend the range?
I Trawl all the Web for $TSLA NEWS - every dam day. When I see a YT release from you- I know I’m going to get Facts .
BTW my UK MS now has v12 also 24.14.8
I have the new visualisation on Model 3 2021 too
Do you have ryzen or intel ?
@@RUclipsAccount-qq7zj no idea
Are these new visuals coming to 2019 MS anytime soon or are we legacy do you guys think
I have a 2021 M3 but the update doesn’t allow full screen visualisation. Am I doing something wrong? Have all other updates though.
There was a dog on the pavement in the video. For a second it turned into a 2nd human
Werewolf sensor maybe?
What year did model 3's start to get the ryzen chip?
The neu update pick up the stop light und Indikator of other cars …!!
Very Impressive!!!!! Awesome!!!! Wowwwww
It looks like the parking sensors are not useful anymore.
Thanks for sharing 👍
So you trust the cameras to work every time from short distances? And when convered in dirt and slush in winter?
@@markyates5744doesn’t look like we’re going to have a choice with sensors gone.
Just give us an indicator stalk….that’s what we need and want, not more gimmicks!
Already got 2024.14.9 on May 31.
would intel processors get the full screen version later on in the future or never? 😢
Never, they're not powerful enough.
What if you are not parked in a room full of sausages? I would be unhappy with that visulisation
is there an update option from 2019 to the ryzen cpu?
I believe this is rolling out to Ryzen CPUs now as well, minus the new visualizations.
TA
Yes. The cars on the road are due to Tesla vision, not the USS.
No, I've got a 2020 M3 with USS and I've had this update for a couple of weeks now. I've got the increased number of vehicles showing on my display, i just can't make it full screen due to the older intel system.
Do you get the new visuals with standard software, do you have to have fsd ?
With standard
@@Mahdathai Nice !
How do I know if I have the horizon chip? Took delivery of a new Model Y performance on Tuesday. I would assume it has it.
It will have the latest hardware and chip.
@@thejammod literally an hour after I made the comment it was available to download. 😎
FSD is optimised to run on HW3.
What convinced you to get it in the UK? Didn't you get the option to try it for 30 days?
@@everusualsuspectIt was 2019. 30 days or monthly subscription wasn't an option. I bought into Elon's BS sadly
@@jafuk ouch. Feel bad for you
I think you'll be surprised, I've seen a few videos with FSD (supervised) running on 2019 Model 3s in the US without issue.
Test it in rain the auto wiper
Any MY owners in the UK got this?
Yes, yesterday 22 plate
The car not automatically speeding up to match the higher speed limit is regulatory compliance in the UK and Europe - it is not allowed to do so in the UK and Europe (even though it can), you have to manually set the driving speed to match the higher speed limit.
I love RSymons videos, because he is always postive about anything from Tesla. So loyal.
Nice and funny preview, thank you! ✨
Yeah but when are they going to stop forcing me to keep my hands on the wheel during FSD???!!?!
