Easily the easiest final boss out of the three games in terms of difficulty. However, his theme and atmosphere are simply the best in my opinion. And while I feel bad for Starforce 4 not being a thing, Kelvin returning home and Geo living a happy life as a reward for finally overcoming all his insecurities and fears is a perfect end for the franchise.
Yeah. The fight itself is a culmination to everything that came before it. And not just in a plot way, it's also the culmination of geo's character arc through the trilogy. Maybe I'm reading way too much into it, but I feel this way. Every other time Geo had to fight in the series, be it normal enemies, bosses, or the local alien machine of doom, Geo always did it only to protect others. Which isn't a bad thing, he's learned to value the connections he's made and is willing to put himself in harm's way if it means protecting those connections. But Geo never really tried to assert himself or what he wants in those confrontations, he was just there to save the people who make him happy. But Crimson Dragon is different. Of course it's a fight to protect those he cares about, but this is time it's more personal. King is not just a threat to the people Geo wants to protect, but is someone who has already harmed them and ruined plenty of lives before the confrontation. And who's also holding back the one person Geo has been trying to save the whole series, his father. So this is the _only_ time in the whole series when Geo is not only fighting for his loved ones, but for himself. He finally accepts that there's no peaceful way to end King's danger, unlike Cepheus and Vega, who he could talk to after destroying their weapons. So for only this time in the whole series, Geo accepts violence and lets himself fight with all he's got. The second phase is awesome because Geo doesn't just need to win to save the world. He also _wants_ to win, because he finally values himself enough to fight for what he wants, not just for others. He's gonna put all he's got into getting his dad back and punishing King for all his actions, and to brilliantly cap off this series with very un-subtle morals about relationships, finds the strength to finish the fight in his friends AND in himself. His friends were what allowed him to arrive at that fight, but the strength within him and his own desire to get his dad back are what finish the battle.
@@mega20able I totally agree with you on this. I loved SFC 3's Geo's character development. Not only just him. Bud was pretty good too. He finally gets his chance of EM wave changing at will with a redeemed Taurus. Not only that, he actually trains with Ace in secret out of respect and rivalry with Mega Man and is able to join him and Sonia as a Commando almost as equals in terms of power (besides the ability to withstand noise, that's it). By that point you might consider that he's archieved what he wanted, repaying Mega Man all the bad stuff he did while he was still possesed by the evil/corrupted Taurus and finally fighting alongside him. But after Luna's been restored after being scattered by Joker and the terrorist Dealer's attacks to the school, he finally finds out he can't be an equal to Geo, but also that he does not desire it. Bud first desire in SFC 1 is to be needed by Luna and her gang. It was what made him to give in to Taurus offer on the first place. Mow he fully trusts Geo, and with that on mind, he wants him to success. And now he's taken the duty of protecting everyone, he will ensure that no one ever will threaten his loved ones while doing so, like always have happened, helping him to focus. I've heard people's complaining about Ophiuccus not being revived as a wizard just as Taurus and Cygnus are, but I see two major problems with it. 1) That would mean there would be no excuse for her not to EM wave change too, and that would be a problem plotwise. She's the strong, supportive one. She leads and keeps everyone up, but she's no warrior. SFC 2 it's the perfect example. 2) Her means are evil. Taurus and Cygnus did make evil, dangerous actions. But both of them share traits of personality with the humans they chose aside of their main purpose. Ophiuccus did not. She's manipulative, and the one to backstab in order to archive her selfish goals. She even offers Omega-Xis to switch sides with him if that would grant her power, betraying Cepheus. Luna could never relate to that trait, ever. She possesed Luna only for convenience, not for them being alike, too. (Based on what the game shown us, not the anime.) That's why we don't see Gemini or Libra, too. (I think eventually Gemini and Mat were finally "expulsed" by beating the crap out of them in SFC 2 anyway, but I do agree a "normal Pat" cameo would've been nice.) I'm not saying by any means that SFC 3 is perfect. It's not. Things like having Rogue around because Capcom felt like it and introducing Mu tech on Dealer's weaponry while the game main feature is Noise and Crimson... was a little bit forced to me. However, Laplace was cool and the two fighting noise clusters at school was nice. (If only they'd develop him more than "I must preserve Mu at all cost"... yeah.) Some Brotherband customs were nerfed (portrait, best combos, adding regular cards to the roullette function instead of only white, megas and gigas), the US version removed the Secret Satellite Server, that only could be accesed via AR codes, along with purpose cards and stuff. Zack still feels like he will never do more that he ever already did in SFC 1 or 2. Some noise mechanics were completely broken and unbalanced (let there be swords, let there be non diming, non elemental to quickly gain the maximum noise form with cards like Atomic Blazer and Blackened Galaxy for you to wreck every boss in your way in one slip of fingers, even the final bosses and R's...). Omegas were way too random to go for the Sigma Crimson Dragon... but still, I think it's my overall favorite out of the 3. What it did right, hell it did it right...
@@lyricsghost2547 Yeah, sf3 is a cool game that had the goal of closing the trilogy and I think it did it really well. It might even be one of my favorite games of all time at this point.
I clearly feel the different vibes between this and your 1st rendition years ago. The 1st remix gives a crisis type of vibe, almost similar to the game. This one gives both MMSF and MMBN type of boss theme vibe, like you are doing a boss rush of both games. And I love it!

Great, now I want a mmbn + sf legacy collection and a mode like in the mmx ones where you can fight multiple bosses from different games and have bn and sf bosses in the same fight. It would be a great mess, but I don't care
I seriously can't believe you actually did this theme, seriously underappreciated in the remix field. Brings back so much nostalgia of being 15. Best time playing a final boss.
I actually cannot thank you enough for this one man- You can't imagine how good it feels to finally have a solid remix for the emotional battle I've ever felt in a video game, in my entire history as a human being. Just. Thank you.
Just finished Star Force 3 last month for the first time after so long wanting to play through it and now this new remix of yours of Crimson Dragon battle just hits different. Keep going strong, Koki, your remixes are always a blast to hear!

I was really waiting for this one The first you've done aged well, but this one rocks even more
Thanks for this amazing remix! Megaman Battle Network and Starforce are two of my favorite series of all time and hearing this makes me all nostalgic even though I didn't play SF3 until a few months ago as it was never released in Europe. Battle Network and Starforce need to make a comeback!
Oh hell yes, I loved your old remix but this one manages to be even better yet again. Incredible job as always, and I've gotta say it's been a pleasure hearing your mixes get all the better over the years
The theory that Crimson Dragon is a *heavily* corrupted Duo feels right. Considering that the guy said he’d be back, and well…this seems like it should be a guardian. But it was hit with negatively charged emotion. A lot of it.
@@iancomtois9832 Yes, very much so. It’s basically nothing but improvements for the first game. You can access all 3 Star Force forms using the in-Game Brotherbands(Sonia is Pegasus, Luna is Dragon, Bud is Leo), there’s 2 save slots, access to a hard mode, and much more regarding font and control fixes.
although very slim I hope they decide to continue production with starforce 4 to add to the legacy collection. I would literally burst into tears if they did that 😭
Damn, was having a rough day then I saw this in my feed. Out of all the Megaman songs aside Soul Ablaze and Surge of Power/MM6 Boss theme, this is my third favorite. Phenomenal remix as always!
