This was my initial EP fave but Good in Goodbyes is my enduring fave. This one is so beautiful. Only goes up from here.

Angelina said that this song was specially for her lovely fans. One of the best female vocalist and now a fantastic songwriter. Wonderful reaction again, but I still beg you to react to her cover of « It’s A Man World » when she was 12, live in concert, I swear you will be blown away.

The master music mixer of this and other songs in the Angelina's EP is Serge Courtois, a Grammy award-winner Sound Engineer. And he also has a 'Drum Set Performance' degree from Berklee. I guess that explains why the beats accompanied the Angelina's incredible vocal are so good.
Would be interesting to learn how much Serge was involved, because he says in a recent interview that more recently producers are sending him nearly finished work that doesn’t leave him much room for modification.

What is the Republic Records Promotion Department going to get off their ass and knocking down the doors to every Radio Station? I live in Las Vegas and listen to the only Jazz/POP Station that is located on the UNLV Campus. I have called and requested the Station DJs and Radio Management numerous times to play one cut from Angelina Jordan's new EP "Old Enough"? The irony thousands of students on the UNLV Campus are missing out on music created by Angelina Jordan for their generation; not to mention the revenue the Campus Radio Station is missing out on, PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!!

I was one of the Angels who worried when she signed up with Republic Records. What Republic has done, though, is added professionalism to the production of her music. Angelina already had the best voice I’ve ever heard, usually backed up with minimal instrumentation. But in the past few years, we’re hearing that magic voice with really good, catchy music behind her-and sometimes beautiful videos as in Suspicious Minds or Easy On Me.
Every song on the EP is incredibly good-vocally and musically. Fire and Rain, Love Don’t Let Me Go, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond… The music grabs you, and I didn’t think that was possible when Angelina is singing. I don’t think today’s Angelina is better than young Angelina, but in the past couple years we’ve seen her move into new musical territory, and she’s killing that just as completely as her earlier songs.
I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to hearing her with a band that she plays with on a regular basis. It will be so awesome!!

Thank you Boudy for these wonderful and passionate reactions, I absolutely love them. The mixture of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it is not only her primary jazz training, which she has developed in an excellent way, but all the musical sources she has absorbed in these wonderful years of hers of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in her own unique way, like the true artist she is. I love every song on her EP, each one differently and can't stop listening to them. Angelina has done a beautiful and intelligent musical work with this EP, the lyrics are excellent, are mainly the result of her ingenuity, even if in collaboration, and they tell an evolutionary path, from a breakup, through the stages of demonization and suffering up to the full self-evaluation and self-affirmation of the last song Diamond. Is a wonderful EP, new, unique, passionate and with very beautiful and deep lyrics, written by a seventeen year old girl who is absolutely fantastic. 💛🧡❤

I am also kind of stunned about the very low number of views for the EP tracks. I downloaded all the songs from iTunes but have still listened to the songs multiple times on RUclips. I’m sure many fans have listened multiple times too. So how are the numbers so low? I know there has been no promotion and I’m sure some of the subscribers are just casual viewers but Angelina has about 870k subscribers on her official channel. You would think each EP song should have at least that many views. Everyone would just need to view once.
It’s not just Angelina. Another young singer Daneliya Tuleshova has 1.5 million subscribers but her most recent release has a very low number of views compared to subscribers. Someone in the comments was also questioning how that can be.
Not all of Angelina's subscribers are faithful Angels. Just look what happened at her Christmas concert in 2021. Shamefully low turnout. I felt so bad for her. Many people always want something for nothing
AMR Boudy, I listened to another Reactors take on one of Angelinas Songs. There were three women third one being a friend. She listened and commented but at the end of the song she said that Angelina was not finishing the words in the song and it impacted on the
likeability of the song and was not a good thing for the person whose original it is. What do You think about it????

Did you see her new release It’s Our Time released Friday? It is being used in a Soc-Fi commercial on TV and radio and streamed on the stadium during football games in Inglewood, CA
She needs one time on a nightly show just to be put out there to create the next level, I see to many singer on these show who can't sing or even touch A.J. at all.
Many of AJ's most fervent admirers are wondering the same thing,,, because she does NOT have enough views that she deserves on any of the platforms and we see other artists with lower quality material and they have more views... in my humble opinion it is that RR people and AJ's team know that as soon as the album comes out and has full publicity, she will have to do a world tour, which will demand a lot physically and from AJ's vocal cords, and because of her age ( 17 yo ) perhaps they are waiting for AJ to mature. physically so as NOT to damage her vocal cords when she have to schedule frequent concerts.... ¡¡¡
One vocal coach reactor defined vocal capital as a finite amount of ability one singer's voice can handle, and based upon watching Angelina sing she said, Angelina's mastery of her voice builds vocal capital and Angelina spends very little of it by her singing. She doesn't believe Angelina will ever have a problem with her vocals.
I think it is partly due to the diffusion and also because Angelina is not within the musical current that young people listen to the most. That is why it is very important what your repertoire is and how you show it. The logical thing would be for it to have a repertoire adapted for young people and another for Jazz festivals. Young people fall asleep with Melodia Unchained... Sorry, angels.

Another wonderfully knowledgeable reaction! Yes, so fresh and different. This isn’t even one of my faves from the EP and it’s still great! Some have called it their favorite, and in fact for every single song on the EP I have heard at least one commenter or reactor say that one is their favorite. That is quality!
If you remember, Earth Wind and Fire “Spirit” was low when it was released, and they put some of those songs on “Gratitude” which was a phenomenal release. Prince was booed off stage when he opened for The Rolling Stones, his first 2 albums were well received, but he really didn’t launch until “1999”, the momentum is building, she has already shown her sustainability with “It’s Magic”, give it some time, for a person her age, she is well ahead of the curve.
I know it’s hard to believe, but she has been a professional artist for a decade, and she is only 17.

Like everyone, I have been having difficulty picking a favorite off the EP. I finally have done so, and there are six of them lol. This happens to be one of them. All Angelina needs is the exposure and she will explode. Once Republic Records takes the reins and promotes Angelina through concerts, press releases, TV appearances, interviews, and connections with radio stations, then the views will be there! Also, in the interim, every one of these visualizers needs a music video. The visualizers never get the views that a video gets.
Totally agree, great song!That Angelina and Diana are no longer inserted in the music market, even if it is for an elite international audience, I think is an emerging part of the great crisis that exists in music, how very limited artists are overvalued, and how the system It imposes styles and trends on you. Happy Angelina Jordan Monday! I so look forward to your AJ reactions. This is one of my favorites on the EP, if not the top for me. Of course, every song on that EP becomes my favorite when I listen to it. I think the secret of why it isn't exploding onto the music scene is Angelina's youth and newness to the pop audience. Her newest song is for a commercial for SoFi. It will be played around the U.S. I'm guessing that song is going to do a lot for Angelina's visibility. Little by little, and then ... the "breakout" will happen. Patience! 😊🙏
Hopefully if people see the commercial some will search to find out who it is and maybe buy or stream the song. Maybe that will gain her new fans.

It may well be that she and her team just keep turning out quality music until the trend comes her way. I tried listening to pop music and its predictable pablum that instruments or just fuzzy key changes and not distinctive. But thats pop. At least she will always have several audiences. Who knows what she'll do into her adult years. When she has her own opinions and goals.
By the way, she put a new song, called Our Time I think they used it for some type of commercial it's a Banger. It'll make you want to get up and dance 💃 🎶
The commercial is for Sofi a bank , ( social and finance ) sofi . they also have a football stadium " the sofi stadium " inglewood , los angeles . 70 to 100 thousand capacity so its expected the commercial will be played on tv and the stadium .

Listened to her new song "Our Time" many times over the weekend . Great song! The only thing I do worry about is all the extras in her songs and whether she can carry those over into concerts. Fans might not like stripped back versions.
I can answer your query regarding performing these songs live. No, they don’t carry over to a concert setting. At least they didn’t at Portsmouth. Of course she was working with a somewhat stripped back young band that, while good musicians, seemed inexperienced. But I think unless you play a backing track, there’s no way you’re going to be able to replicate the studio sound. You would have to come up with a separate concert arrangement done with real instruments instead of computers. It didn’t bother me because I could still hear her voice and that’s why I was there. But some people might not like it.
That was one of the primary reasons the Beatles quit touring. They couldn’t figure out a way to replicate what they were doing in the studio. That, and the fact that no one could hear them anyway over the screaming fans and crummy PA equipment available at the time.
If anyone can figure out a way to pull it off it will be AJ. She’s a musical genius.

With four wonderful musicians like those at the Kongsberg 2022 show it would be ideal, but you must write the arrangements and add at least two backup singers.

With stellar musicians, a couple of stellar backup singers, a stellar sound system and engineers, you could conceivably reproduce most of what she created in the studio. What couldn’t be recreated could be taken care of with some re-arranging. Which AJ is a master at.

Yes !!! The whole EP is a masterpiece. Also her latest song " Our Time " is a catchy, positive song with good lyrics. Yet, neither the EP nor the " Our Time have enough views or streams on Spotify. Why ? I really don't understand, and it worries me. Where is Republic Records promotion ?

You should use your expertise to pick up on middle eastern influences both in AJ’s singing and instrumentation. Alan Papier did a video on this that was excellent. There are spots here and there like her cover of The Mama & Papas California Dreamin’. Fire and Rain has authority to it. It sounds new as you say. That percussive drum adds a pop and uniqueness.
Actually, Mike, Boudy and I are planning a video where we watch the Persian Influence video together and he comments as we go along. Should be very interesting!!

Hi Boudy! Hope you're feeling better. Listening to Angelina is an essential part of my healing process. I love the delicate intro and outro. I feel like AJ is laying her heart out there for all to see. I'm looking forward to all the great Angelina reactions still to come. I think I'd call that bass sound a dubstep bass.

I get you lots of garbage music gets millions of hits! But think it's all going to change quickly with Angie's new song drop which happens to be a track for a major commercial. Which will played at major sports events! Hopefully that gets her name out there in general public more. Once she's 18 I am sure Republic records as well will let the lion out of the cage full stop! To this point don't think they really are pushing her music per her contract.

I’m not really loving Angelina as a pop artist . Her voice is amazing. I just miss the passion and how she touched our souls. I know she has to go with what the young listeners want . Her songs are catchy but don’t make me want to hear more as with her her Jazzy soulful sound .
Angelina won't lose her Jazz Roots - she performs jazz and pop classics in her concerts along with her newer stuff.
