Just a thought for you to consider. When storing your extra pillows and pillow covers, put them in a space bag and remove all the air. This will keep them fresher than just storing them on the floor of the closet. It also saves space. Also I would consider putting a small shelf in that closet to keep them off of the floor.

It is so so rewarding to explore cookbooks for inspiration. So often we try to find inspiration from memory and get frustrated and bored with our store of ideas or memories. We forget that other people or cultures can bring recipe ideas we would never have thought about in a lifetime of thinking.
And also that’s where libraries come in. I love going to my library and grabbing a bunch of cookbooks and reading away! Ps Lisa! (And others) if you haven’t explored the moosewood cookbook please please do. It is vegetarian but I promise it is so your style and taste. The soups are 2nd to none.

Loving these videos! So happy to see the linen love too. 2 years ago I started pursuing a goal to only use natural textiles in my home and it’s been slow moving but so rewarding. There is seriously nothing like flax linen bedding. And so many people are misinformed! Any time I talk about linen I hear “isn’t that heavy and uncomfortable?” And wool? Oh, wool is hated on so much! “It’s scratchy and hard to clean, you put your kids in that?” I just have to laugh it off and do my best to explain but not everyone does their best to listen 😂

It would be cool to either put drawers in the steps on the staircase, or maybe putting the on the side under the steps. It would give you more divided useful storage that you can manage easier and take up that awkward staircase space under there in the closet. Idk if you would want to do something like that to the original staircase but gives you something to think about if you want to use it more efficiently. Thanks for sharing Lisa!

Hi, Lisa! I liked how you cleaned up your closet! I actually enjoy doing those things, when I am in the right mood - - it feels so good afterward, doesn't it?! The only thing I would suggest, is getting a small organizer in there to put the items you want to keep on. That would help keep mold off of the pillows and organize the things you do want to keep, while keeping them off of the floor/ dampness, etc. Maybe like a cube organizer from Ikea? Something simple, but helpful...... anyway, great job! : ) Always enjoy a day on the farm with you guys!

Sheila in Chattanooga, TN here . . . I agree, it is so satisfying to clean out clutter, even hidden clutter. I collect recipes too. Here is one that my family always gets excited about . . . OUT OF THIS WORLD POTATOES-Ingredients: 10 Yukon Gold Potatoes, 3 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese, 2 sticks butter, 1 & 1/2 cups sour cream, 2 coarsely chopped onions and salt, pepper. Directions: Slice the potatoes into round thick slices about 1/4 inch thick. Cover them with water and heat to a slow boil. When they are done but still firm cool them immediately with cold water. If they over-cook they will be too mushy for the recipe. Chop the onion and put it in a bowl and cover it with hot water for a few minutes. Melt the butter and mix in the grated cheese and sour cream. Drain the water off of the raw chopped onion and add the onion to the cheese mixture. Season with salt & pepper. Gently fold the cheese mixture into the drained and cooled potatoes. Taste it to see if you added enough salt. Potatoes take a lot of salt. Put in a buttered casserole dish and bake at 350 until it is bubbling hot. This is a great side dish but you can add chunks of ham before baking to make it a main dish. I hope you will try it!
