Loved the actors and portrayals but honestly for a 7 hour series I was a bit underwhelmed.
It was fun, I would leave it at that.
Agree
Well, that's because it ends with nothing ever happening.
@@RustyShackleford_ didn’t the watcher never get caught anyway?
@@RustyShackleford_ I don’t know about that. You do find out that the husband sent more letters then the Watcher did. You also find out that secretly installing a camera in someone’s bedroom is surprisingly forgivable.
They didn’t use the actual house because they didn’t want to begin getting letters 😂
I find it fascinating that the police have been called almost 60 times to the house in the past 3 years. Mainly the alarm continuing to go off in the basement and nothing is ever found. Also, the last sellers taking a $400k loss is almost unheard of. Of course, the show dramatized the situation, but the original letters are indeed scary. I wouldn't want to live there. 🥴
One of the original letters:
"Dearest new neighbour at 657 Boulevard, allow me to welcome you to the neighborhood.
How did you end up here? Did 657 Boulevard call to you with its force within?
657 Boulevard has been the subject of my family for decades now and as it approaches its 110th birthday, I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.
My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time. Do you know the history of the house? Do you know what lies within the walls of 657 Boulevard? Why are you here? I will find out."
Jesse, you're not the only one who has not seen The Watcher. And since I found out that they have not found out who the Watcher is, I have lost the desire to see it.
Same. I hate unresolved endings. Maybe they wanted a cliffhanger so they can make a sequel since it’s clearly mostly fake
Haven’t watched it either
I thought it was based on the case where a women found her dream house and put in an offer but she was out bid buy a couple , so she started an harassment campaign to force them to sell.
Me too
I recall the same
Me 2
I remember that story! Craaazy lady.
totally different story 🤦🏻♀️
Heard rave reviews about this show so we decided to give it a go. We couldn't even get past the first episode. So overblown and unnecessarily dramatic and there is not one single likeable, relatable character. I think they should have hired more unknown actors and made it a more subdued mystery/thriller series.
The Watcher is a Great suspenseful Series worth watching (no pun intended). The narrative is excellent even if it’s not word by word, scene by scene, character by character accurate! It’s a must see series👍🏼
WORST ENDING EVER.
@@jaysonwallerisacriminal3314 I agree… epic cliffhanger😏
The end is terrible. It was good for the first several episodes. But it was really poorly written at the end
Haven’t heard anyone saying this yet, but they also combined the John List story into it
Lol, then they said it….
I noticed that as I watched the show but couldn't remember the family-killer's name.
These two have a .... “je ne sais quoi” chemistry 😂☺️🤦🏼♀️
the real-life story seems like this family got pranked and they made into a scary movie. wish my pranks got Netflix money.
Bullock ??
It was so over the top and campy that I was just enjoying it as a borderline comedy for the most part. Was a half decent binge watch at the end of the day, but nothing to write home about. It was a lot more fun and less exploitative than the Dahmer series, that's for sure.
I’m from Jersey and I remember reading about the story in the news a couple years ago. I just watched the series with my gf over the weekend and told her they definitely took some creative license on what I remember happening 😂
😅
Overblown left a lot the truth out
The real house is in New Jersey. Not New York.
I think they said that. They also mentioned that the house in the show is in NY, not NJ.
@@melistasy the lady in the video said NY
@@sconni666 at 5:32 she said the house in the show is in NY. In other words, the house they used in the show, not the real house the story is based on, is a house in NY. The real house is in NJ, the "show house" is in NY.
The watcher isn’t scary isn’t just a script that goes around in circles that eventually gets boring
I'd like to see a series of RL to movie series adaption what they got right/wrong
Weird to think about the actual watcher maybe watching this show.
Netflix sucks all around
Why was the video originally deleted and reposted?
OMG Why didn't you say spoiler alert at the beginning? !
I'm pretty sure the real couple did move into the house. The wife talks about the woman/perp actually bringing her daughter to trick or treat their first Halloween there.
Hi Bobby 👋
Was about to write a negative comment based off the tittle and 2 min I'm hooked. Life lessons learned 🤔
John Alber !
the people who live in the watcher house, have all sorts of people getting up on their porch, to get selfies. Despite police tape blocking it off. Its a lot of nerve to do that. Its not a movie set, its someone's actual house. As far as the list house goes, that's long gone, they demolished it after the event happened.
Ryan Murphy really just combined horror house and the water story
I bet that girl has absurd tweets. She looks like she went to Taylor Lorenz school of journalism
Tv shows/ movies will never depict 100% reality.
The most likely candidate is the family themselves.
This was a great show. I loved it.
Why even acknowledge the true events if they are just going to make everything up.
She needs to stop saying ummm. Other than that I agree with her review.
Not sure what was worse they got all those cameras everywhere.
Yet couldn’t catch the watcher in the original story, totally creepy 😮
Case of buyers remorse imo
I’m from NJ And always followed the story closely when it was being reported. I think the only legitimate explanation is that the buyers got in over their heads and then were looking to get out of it. There was only one letter received by the prior owner and it was right before the sale. That was most likely the purchasers setting the stage for the fraud. The show was fun to watch however. The prior owner said that they thought nothing of it and threw the letter in the garbage.
Michael 😒
@@mgm8822 interesting take, sounds plausible
my grandfather watched law & crime my father watched law&crime now it's my turn to watch
😂
At once I watched it I had a good idea it was fake IMO
"ALL HAIL THE WATCHER!"
"San Diego Couple Still Scared After Disgruntled Home Bidder's Year of Harassment Jerry Rice and Janice Ruhter said Kathy Rowe tormented them for a year. By CHRIS CONNELLY, LYNN REDMOND, LYDIA NOONE and LAUREN EFFRON February 13, 2015, 9:33 AM 7:38 Couple Lives in Fear After Buying Their New House"
Not even one breakfast with porkroll. Fake. I didn’t believe it for a second. Who tries to come off as being Jersey without the native foods?
Whs this not an accurate portrayal?
The show isn’t a documentary. It’s a fiction series inspired by true events.
its based off a few random letters new home owners got. Then later sued the previous owners for not disclosing the letters they got. I think they ended up winning. Can't believe they made a series based off of literally nothing.
If i remember right a woman wanted to buy the house. scare them to sell it the woman was out bid. If this ain't the one is another story identical to this one
Completely boring show! No one was murdered in the house. No animals where harmed in the house. Where was no bell waiter
This series was painful to watch….horrible acting from good actors🤷🏼♀️👎🏼
I would never watch this because how much fake stuff. They put it into it
Tony 😮
Thanks Jesse, for the spoiler notice, don't need to watch now.
Are you a Realtor ???
@@HannahRoot55 I was
❤
This was a very interesting "UM" video. Over 40 um's spoken. Wow !
I didn't like th eshow. The stroy interested me but I have heard youtube channels cover it better lol
It sucked.
Umm 😂
He has a five head.
True crime RUclipsrs did a better job then this mess of a series.
Content failure
Michael
Crazy how this made up just ender 11 mins of "content"
No point watching this show after this. Spoiled.
Keith 😮
I mean what did you expect from a video comparing the show with the real story??
Who cares , it's a movie get over yourself
Do not watch this, most anti climatic show.
WORST ENDING EVER.
who cares what happened in real life??????? ITS A SERIES BASED ON REAL EVENTS- ITS NOT A DOCUDRAMA
