Yeah the soundtrack is amazing especially the warp room, I remember listening too this as a kid that I would just stay there and just listen to the music.
Wrath of Cortex has by far my favorite soundtrack in the entire series, every track is amazing. Andy Blythe and Martin Joustra are masters Outside of the ones you mentioned, I also wanna give credit to: Tornado Alley Rumble In The Roks Jungle Rumble Sea Shell Shenanigans Eskimo Roll Fahrenheit Frenzy Droid Void Weathering Heights Crash & Burn Gold Rush Crate Balls of Fire Cortex Vortex Crunch Time
Andy Blythe & Marten Joustra are such musical geniuses. Next to something like Toy Story 2, this is one of their masterpieces. Plus Coral Canyon is one of my favorite music tracks in the game.
I love doing workout listening to Crash OST in general; Nitro-Fueled bonus tracks OST’s deserved a separate playlist on my phone for 30-minute jogging.
I also have a ringtone list I use for people calling me, here are the tracks I have for WoC: Crash to Ashes - Friend who listens to rock music Atmospheric Pressure - Mom Crunch Time - Dad Weathering Heights - Random person
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly also has the best soundtrack in his series and not a lot of fans give praise for. It’s crazy how Crash 4 and Spyro 4 both came out around the same time and while they didn’t do well, they both managed to have some banger soundtracks.
It makes sense that the soundtrack is so good considering Andy Blythe worked on it. The composer for Toy Story, Bugs Life, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo etc.
Oh my God yes!! I fucking love the soundtrack to Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue ❤ I couldn't believe it when I found out they did the music for Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex.
I've made a bunch of Rock/Metal remix from The Wrath of Cortex because I also love the soundtrack from this game. I would be very happy if some of you decide to check it out! Already done Crash To Ashes, Compactor Reactor, The Gauntlet and a lot more :)
Totally agree, I played this game as a kid and I don't play Crash anymore yet I still listen to this game's soundtrack to this day. Almost every levels has some insane musics, especially the boss ones. I love this game's musics so much
Fun fact: This music was composed by the same guys who composed the music for the Toy Story 2 and A Bug's Life games on PS1 (Andy Blythe and Marten Joustra)
None of mainline Crash Bandicoot games had bad soundtracks. Even Crash of the Titans & Mind over Mutant had some pretty good music. Turf's Up, Green Bowl Groove, BBQ Bash, Pressureless Preamble & The Wastelands immediately come to mind.
DUDE! I remember playing this when I was 7 years old and I was playing this game on the Ps2 with my bro. Now I’m 16, brings me back to the good old days
i'm not even lying i had the exact same memorries. i remember playing woc with my siblings on our ps2 in the basement. i'm also 16 and now i feel like replaying the game to 106%
I do agree that TWoC has banging soundtrack. I really adore the main theme. Andy Blythe and Marten Joustra definitely do deserve the praise for their work. However, I think that the amount of heavily synth-driven tracks with lots of SFX throughout them can be... overwhelming? I think what's lacking here is the "wackiness" of soundtrack. It sounds very detailed, sometimes i'd even describe it as "crowded" but it doesn't feel for me like it would fit the zany nature of the characters. Take a look at TwinSanity's OST. Composed and performed by Spiral Mouth, this soundtrack fits nearly perfectly with "wacky" characters and the world around them. They've created a narrative with music that compliments and adds to the gaming experience of TwinSanity. You could tell very simlar story with these tracks only. This shows how well-fit they are in the game. And, of course, we can't forget about Josh Mancell's works on soundtracks for the original trillogy and CTR. These were rather simple: in most cases, they only consisted of a layer of drums, simple bassline and one or two other instruments playing the melody. They provide a solid musical background for the levels but I feel like they don't tell the story like TwinSanity's OST does. They also have a bit more varied pacing. Soundtrack of CTR is fast paced, which is very adequate and obvious choice for a racing game. But the trilogy has more varied pacing: vehicle levels and bossfights often have more fast paced tracks rather than regular, underwater, or bonus levels. TWoC definitely has varied pacing as well, but the amount of things that are going on during the soundtrack acts as a "counterbalance" and makes it a bit off-sounding at times. So, as much as I adore TWoC soundtrack and agree it's awesome, I wouldn't say it's _the_ best Crash Bandicoot soundtrack out of all the games. now im waitin for anyone to say that my arguments are invalid because internet
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 Mines is a toss up between Warp Room, Space Bash, & Manic Panic. But there's also so many to choose from in that game since I love all of them.
This was the first game i ever played so ofv i love the game it was my introduction to Crash so this game is special to me and even back then i thought the soundtrack was fire its one of the best features of the game for sure
Not surprising, one thing that has to be handed to Traveller's Tales, is that their games, licensed or otherwise, consistently tend to have REALLY good OSTs. 3:28 - Holy shit, I only just now noticed Crunch's fire-form has an N on his back.
Wrath of Cortex has a really great soundtrack and those were some really nice picks, but I couldn't help but notice that you featured all medieval pieces except for the best one imo, Knight Time
I had a feeling that I was remembering it right that this soundtrack was a banger. After seeing this video last night, I woke up this morning to that 'Wizards and Lizards' track stuck in my head 😅 And that main theme is probably my favorite, mostly because of the part that plays shortly after the one minute point. Also, I just have a soft spot for this game despite all its jankiness. I just love the theme of the elements and natural disasters, and how smooth the game runs.
Now that you say it, this soundtrack is really great, this is one of my least favorite crash games but it had something that make me want to beat it, perhaps was the soundtrack but I wasn't aware of that in my childhood.
I know Wrath of Cortex's reputation has continued to sour over the years, but for me it's kind of a guilty pleasure and the soundtrack plays a huge part in that. The original trilogy, CTR, even Crash Bash all have great soundtracks but IMHO Wrath of Cortex tops them all, tied with Twinsanity for the best OST in the franchise. There's so many amazing tracks it's hard to pick a favorite so I guess here's a bunch I love: - Knight Time - Crunch Time - Medieval Madness - Wizards and Lizards - Compactor Reactor - Arctic Antics - Weathering Heights

And Cortex Strikes Back
Wrath of Cortex may not be the best game, but the soundtrack is a banger.
I loved this game THE SOUNDTRACK IS INSANE the castle bonus song and "that sinking feeling" are my favorites
If there’s one thing Traveller’s Tales did impeccably, it’s the music to this game.
:)
A good chunk of their games had some great music (Toy Story 2, Crash Twinsanity, Rascal, etc)
The soundtrack is certainly the best thing to ever come out of The Wrath Of Cortex, no doubt about it.

coral canyon slaps

I always preferred Wrath of Cortex's main theme to Warped's and I don't know why. I guess it's just awesome.
To be honest, same here.
Me too. I think it's because it packs more of a punch here than the Warped version, especially with the more techno feel to it.
