Ikr? I don't think it would be neccesary a second part, but Im dying to know what would happen with the 3 of them in this era with all the technology we have. Sorry for my english I'm learning by my owm.
I remember seeing this in the theatre, I was 12. We were so stoked for this to come out. In my view, it still holds up as one of the best damn films ever made. Even actress Kirsten Dunst who played Claudia said they just don't make films like this anymore. What makes it so great is that they were able to take two extremely well-known actors of that time; one who was in his prime (Cruise) and the other, (Pitt) who had literally just blown up maybe a year or two before, having never taken on a role like this, and they were able to pull off these literary characters so bloody well that you completely forgot it was even them. Definitely not an easy thing to do, for any actor. But I think the appeal also lies in the fact that in watching this, you're kind of reminded of a more innocent time. This was long before Cruise went off the deep end with all the Scientology nonsense, and most people really had no clue whatsoever about the darker side of Hollywood. In any case, like the characters themselves, this film will never get old, and it will never die.
I always interpreted this scene as Lestat finally getting over Louis and realizing that there's other fish in the sea. Louis may have been the 'hero' of the movie but, let's face it, he DID spend the whole movie whining! Lestat could do better.
In the books, it is different. Lestat writes in TVL that he created Louis to be his conscience, to mete out year after year his punishment for failing with Nicki and to a fair extent, Gabrielle. As the VC continues, they become the eternal couple with Lestat coming back to Louis again and again, even saving his life and making Louis more powerful.
The only thing unrealistic about this scene (apart from, you know, VAMPIRES) is how calm everything is in that car. You cannot even stand still on the Golden Gate bridge without nonstop 20-50mph winds coming from the pacific. Hair whipping like crazy, it's like being in a constant wind tunnel. Yet their hair is mostly untousled, the tape player is audible, and Lestat can speak in a conversational level instead of shouting. Lol!
Love this scene, too, and always been one of my favorite movies. A perfect bookend to the opening scene at the beginning of that night. ALSO, I love that song. The Rolling Stones original is my favorite of all songs by that iconic band. But I love this version, too, and it is SO perfect here. Axl adds a bit of menace that even Mick doesn't have. Also, RIP Anne Rice. She was skeptical of the movie and casting at first, but she came to love it.
The reason why Tom Cruise was laughing at the end was his way of saying to the audience this one was for River Phoenix will miss you buddy but you'll live on in our hearts and in our memories
Seeing as Malloy was wanting what Louis had even though he had just told him in painstaking detail how much of a hell it is to be a vampire, I imagine he took up Lastat's offer to become a vampire. Because even when told how much pain it brings, some still want to live forever.
It brought pain to Louis. For Louis being human was already painful. When he was turned he was on the verge of suicide. You Know. Whiny whiny Louis. Lestat embraced and loved it.
Fun Fact: Sympathy for the Devil by Guns 'N Roses (which is actually originally sung by The Rolling Stones) would be the final song to feature many of the original band members as Slash would be the first to leave the band in 1996 due to differences with Axl Rose.

Nah , only ladies and guy lovers does that , true man doesn’t do that
Indeed😍
I love Tom Cruise as Lestat ♥️
It always bugged me that they never did a direct sequel where Lestat and Christian Slater had vampire adventures in the modern era.
Ikr?
I don't think it would be neccesary a second part, but Im dying to know what would happen with the 3 of them in this era with all the technology we have.
Sorry for my english I'm learning by my owm.
Me too. I'm not sure if Louis was still in it but Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise did not get along and never filmed a movie together again after this one.
@@musiciangal02453 People say Brad drove Tom crazy with his body odor. He allegedly almost never showered when the movie was being made.
@@largol33t1 it helped their performances and their on screen vampire marriage lol....brad pitt was depressed and almost left the film
@@largol33t1 Lol that's too bad because he looked so clean and handsome in it even with his long hair 😂
That actually best part of that movie. THE BEST.
Lestat is rock n roll to the core
@Chad Blair
And claudia
Well he is a rock star in the books lol
@@nebulous8389 LOL true
@@infinightsky you know amc is currently making the vampire chronicles tv show with anne rice and her son writing it???
love the combo of the leather jacket with his classic regency era shirt with the lace sleeves
Best movie ending in the history of cinema!
Cruise laughing is awesome, the king of Holywood :)
I actually like this ending better than the book’s
It works well because it takes some stuff from the later books, It's a shame it didn't lead to a sequel at the time.
"I had to listen to that for centuries" 😂
‘Never die’ 😆 good bit of Pun there 😉
They were all so beautiful and completely fit their parts. I adore this movie.
The irony is that Brad Pitt absolutely hated doing this movie and was miserable about having to be in it
So he was perfect for the part then lol
Louie, Louie...still whining, Louie..
He do got a point . Louis was like a vampire eeyore
@@danielchoquette5371I personally felt lt that it was a reference to him expressing interest in potentially making Daniel his companion in QOTD.
Except they never get over each other-ever.
Lol!
"unrealistic"???.....did you realize this is a movie about vampires ???
This is true. Vampires are more plausible than an empty Golden Gate Bridge.
I love this scene! What a great ending!
The reason why Tom Cruise was laughing at the end was his way of saying to the audience this one was for River Phoenix will miss you buddy but you'll live on in our hearts and in our memories
@@TheCrankyTechnician No he's just making things up.
@@TheCrankyTechnician actually River Phoenix was supposed to play role of Daniel but he passed 1993 away unfortunately
I love it when he felt better
I wish they made a second movie 😢😢😢
Lestat is great louis is a back stabber the movie was a masterpiece
Aye I’m not gay but they did a remarkable job with Tom Cruise in this movie. Like if I had a wife and she left me for someone like that….I’d understand 😂
I love his laugh
