Ethanol is nontoxic and biodegradable Unlike gasoline, pure ethanol is nontoxic and biodegradable, and it quickly breaks down into harmless substances if spilled. Chemical denaturants are added to ethanol to make fuel ethanol, and many of the denaturants are toxic. Similar to gasoline, ethanol is a highly flammable liquid and must be transported carefully.
I’m trying to figure out how the derailment happened in the first place; people don’t normally expect to see a train derailment happen at such a slow speed as this train was moving. Everyone’s also very lucky that the tanker cars weren’t damaged enough for the ethanol to escape; if any of them had, there could’ve been an explosion and ensuing fire.
Doesn't surprise me Warren Buffet quit doing serious maintenance work on the BNSF when he no longer had 10 ..100 tanker Trans coming out of the Dakotas at 30k a tanker transportation charges. Ever wonder why he lobbied against the pipeline??? Duh???

One of the most decent train derailments I've ever seen😆.
We're going to have to find another place to cross the tracks!
Due to man power cuts, we are no longer maintaining our rails as we should. Please expect numerous derailment and possible contamination or death. If you have any questions please don't try to call, cause we don't care about your safety. We just want money. Thank you and have a nice day. Hopefully.
Sincerely: your local railroad company.
Yep, that's about it.
Maybe that’s where they were SUPPOSED to be dropped off.
That would have been a great moment to de-ass the area with a great quickness.
I can't believe you didn't u turn immediately and haul ass, no way I would've just sat around like that
0:28 The moment you know you will have to take a 200 mile detour 😁
🤣
Glad to see the safetry equipment in the cars worked, no spills
Ethanol is nontoxic and biodegradable
Unlike gasoline, pure ethanol is nontoxic and biodegradable, and it quickly breaks down into harmless substances if spilled. Chemical denaturants are added to ethanol to make fuel ethanol, and many of the denaturants are toxic. Similar to gasoline, ethanol is a highly flammable liquid and must be transported carefully.
I’ll have to disagree, if spilled that amount of ethanol seeping into the water table phasing with water will make a nasty cocktail.
dude just sitting there not realizing the absolute danger he is in of being fucking crushed.
Oof.. looks like you need to find an alternate route!
Doesn't surprise me Warren Buffet quit doing serious maintenance work on the BNSF when he no longer had 10 ..100 tanker Trans coming out of the Dakotas at 30k a tanker transportation charges. Ever wonder why he lobbied against the pipeline??? Duh???
When your boss is like "so what's your excuse for being late today?"
This is the time to turn around and drive away…far away.
Says a lot about the state of railways in the US. To derail at such a slow speed means the track must be in a terrible condition.
It’s kinda funny how they roll down the hill but once the laugher is over they’re gonna running for their lives
Those tankers just want belly rubs
The ethanol(alcohol) made the coaches too drunk and they tipped over................. politely.
America not only can't do high speed trains, but can't do slow speed trains either! Amazing!
Whatever happened to the Build Back Better??? Derailment is now a every day issue our infrastructure is broken....imagine this same rail going fast and derailing like this it would have exploded.
Working for a chemical plant in my home state thus is the worst fear we have. That and fires. Hope nothing spilled... Good luck containing that mess
Ethanol? I thought you worked in a chemical plant, thats like literally a trainload of the highest strength booze, not great, not terrible if it leaks, just have to dilute it so it cant burn
The bottom outlet valve is from about 44 years ago. By one of my heroes in Chicago, Jim.
It is also protected by skid plates. These also keep the tankcar within tracks when derail is at speed.
Thank God the train was going super slow.
What is with this person, doesn’t ethanol burn, why are you just sitting there.
Ethanol, highly flammable, with a flash point
Rail maintenance on some tracks has not been done regularly for years. Not all RxR’s but a lot only fix it when it’s broke. Wooden ties only last so long.
Felt tired. Might explode later...
