I LOVE my Mach 5's, but I'm not a great runner anymore...very out of practice! I haven't done full runs with my Mach 5's yet, but I have been wearing them for up to 4 plus miles of walking a day (I walk dogs as part of my job), and they are amazing for all the walking and running around. But I worry they might not be max cushion enough for me to really run in them as I'm a little heavier as a person and I need something that's going to really protect my knees and ankles during a lite run. Would the Mach X be a better shoe for a heavier person (190-200lbs)? I keep seeing a lot of stability trainers for daily running that are max cushion, but I'm a neutral shoe only kind of gal. I did try the Bondi 8 and I hated them, so I'm not sure what other Hoka model would work for me. Maybe the Bondi X? I wanted to go with one of the new Asics, but they tend to run more narrow than Hoka seems to, yet the wide's are a bit too wide. I was even thinking of trying the max cushion from Altra, but I have never run in a zero drop shoe before, so I don't want to just go 0-60 overnight. Any recommendations would be great thanks!
Novablast 3 from Asics. I have both - the Mach 5 feels slightly more comfortable(probably because of the rocker geometry) and lighter, but the Novablast has more cushion and bounce and especially for longer runs they are better in my opinion.
I think HOKA has lost some core benefits of Mach line with this Mach X. Why such a maximalist design for what was supposed to be an uptempo trainer? +10mm stack height versus Mach5. Almost 30g heavier. This will for sure lower running performance even with a pebax foam & carbon plate. Only good point is durability improvement but this will not justify such a high price.
As daily trainers i have the Mach 5, Endorphin Speed 2, NB 1080, Nimbus 25, Novablast 3 and a some others... Now i bought the Asics Superblast and i just can't stop running in them, great for fast and slow paces, just love the Superblast! For this reason i think i won't buy the Hoka Mach X :/
@@septianb.4148 depends what is slow pace for someone, for me my slow pace is something between 5min to 6min per km, still feels great running in them in my slow paces.
Everyone’s feet are different and are wider at certain points so not everyone will agree. If it’s a concern for you I would try to go try them on in a shop
@@anthony7828 I thought the same. Tried to Mach X and I hated the run so much :) They feel absolutely different. For me it felt clunky and much stiffer. Definitely not for me :)
Also worth noting that the Mach 5 comes in wide. Very useful for those with wide feet!
Nice comparison. Would it be possible to have a comparison between the Endorphin Speed 3, the ASICS Magis Speed 3, and the Puma Deviate Nitro 2?
Can you make a video of shoe rotation for people who require stability?
Looking forward to a comparison between the Mach X and the Rocket X2.
It’s hard to beat the Mach 5 for daily training 😊
Couldn't agree more - they are extremely special
better competitor now?
Hello from Germany. My question is: Which one is better to run a marathon in 4 hours. I‘m looking forward to your answer. Kind regards!
To me, the Mach X would have been more appropriately named the Clifton X - the geometry, weight, and intent match up way better against the Clifton!
comparison w boston 12 please 🙏🏽

Bondi 8 is too heavy. In 10.5 mens. Mine have, not even 10km on ‘em… they’re in the closet resting the past while. Lol
Aside from the Mach 5, what would be another non plated good daily trainer shoe (similar to the Mach 5 but more durable)?

How many miles does the Mach 5 actually lasts in average? 200, 300, 400?
450 ish on my pair, outsole wore out faster but they still felt fine
Done 600km with mine and they still hold up great 👍
Could you compare it with NB SC Trainer V2

Seriously, are Superblast can be use in slow paces n daily trainer?

do u think superblast are still better ?

Topo Cyclone 2 vs. Hoka Mach 5 or Hoka Mach X
Mach X beautiful shoe.
I can’t tell which is wider, they seem split on the decision

Is the insole removable on the mach x?
Mach 5 is the best cushioned shoe
Better than Saucony Triumph
Really like my Mach 5. Very interested in trying the Mach X

Mach 5 easily favorite hill repeats and the turnover is super easy
Kinda heavy and pricey compared to the competition, no?
