- I first recorded a video about Taizé 13 years ago ( • A Week in Taize ), and thought it was time to do an update.
Taizé is an ecumenical Christian community in Burgundy, established in the 1940s by Brother Roger, and which today attracts thousands of people each year to share in the life of the community.
The music in this video is from the Taizé community:
Let all who are thirsty come
Nada te turbe
Venie, Sancte Spiritus
Bless the Lord

I remember watching this video nervously because I was only a few weeks away from my trip to Taizé. I remember not wanting to watch the whole video because I wanted it to be a surprise when I got there.
It's now 6 months since I went to Taizé and what an adventure it was, everything seemed magical. I miss Taizé terribly and hope to return in 2024.
Thank you. God bless you all.
Brought back many happy memories for me from my youth spent there when I felt so happy and free. Thanks for sharing.
I’m nineteen, going to Taize tomorrow for the first time!!
I’ve been a bit nervous about it, but this video really made me excited to experience life there!
I hope you have a fantastic time. I was 19 when I first visited Taize, it changed my life in many different ways, not least because that's when I met my wife!
Nice to see all these beautiful places of Taizé. ❤️🙂
É muito lindo amo muito ❤❤❤
volunteer for 3 months and hoping to visit next year.great video.
This is a lovely film, Simon. Thank you for it. We met many years ago in Olinda when all our children were still small. In fact, my children are in the background on your previous film, playing by the steam at The Source, when there was still water running in it!
I love the way you pronounce "tayzay" :) Cheers!
Ďakujem za video a popis (škoda že tam nie je viac o cene, podmienkach pobytu (napr dobrovoľníctve) a pod)
Price of stay depends on your age and the country you come from, details on the Taize website. Re volunteering again this is dependent on your age, and not something I've done at Taize, so can't comment on it
Dear Friend very nice video.... I'm happy to see this... I'm wishing to come.. But from India it bit tuff and I can't afford...but you're video..made me happy
I thought Taizé was mostly for young people with some occasional accommodation for grannies like me? Thank you for your soulful videos Simon!
Thank you for the informative video. I'm going to Taizé soon and I have a question: Is there a possibility to charge your mobile phone? This seems pretty essential to me, but because of the way of living there I'm not sure.
My advice is try and spend the week without your phone - you'll really feel the benefits of a week of digital detox. If you really do need your phone with you, then take a battery pack/charger with you.
Some people charge phones in the church, but there are only a few plug sockets dotted around the building, and it's not encouraged to charge your phones there - although people do.
It's possible Taize do have a location where people can get their phones charged, but if they do, it's not something I've every used.
I miss taize so much but don’t feel able to get there now the coach doesn’t go from the uk anymore
You can fly or go by train
