Ahhhh I just started learning this last week with my teacher. It sounds really beautiful though and I’m really excited to learn the whole first movement! The violinist who played this did a great job!
Considering these are pieces of paedagogic purpose, they are extremely inventious and well-written. And even though I am not a violin player, I can realize how good of preliminary studies they are for the "bigger" pieces of the violin literature.
I feel as if maybe some of these should be bigger concertos. Unfortunately, lots of pieces are deemed, "student pieces" and aren't played by professionals as often.
It would be interesting if someone were to 'arrange' these (the Rieding, Seitz, Accolay, etc.) Into larger concerti. Ones that would perhaps be performance to a serious audience in a concert along with a large symphony or the like. And these ones would be kept.
This is a student concerto and it was meant for students to improve. I haven’t played this one but I did play 2 others of his concertos, and he has the same style. You can really tell that he wrote all of them. I am not going to play another one of his concertos in the future because I just recently finished 35 like a month ago.
Peace be upon you and the mercy of God be upon you. I saved the video to practice the piece and will probably do it whenever needed. Thank you and forgive me for everything.
The first movement is so damn beautiful. It’s so playful but the harmonies make it feel like it’s yearning. I am teaching this piece to one of my students and I can’t help but play it from time to time just because of the sheer fun and beauty. Amazing concerto for sure!
@@laurenvedeen6920 Yes it's very easy isn't it. Maybe best to practice The Bach or Motzart for auditions though? Or the Bruch first movement in G minor is quite compact.
Playing this piece for my live college audition 9 weeks from today. I absolutley love this piece. Repeatedly playing this song over and over already have it memorized lol just got the song yesterday
Es mi concierto para estudiante favorito, es demasiado bello, con musica como esta si dan ganas de tocar, estudiar, esforzarse, y buscarle un sonido bello, buscar su caracter. Realmente me encanta
Thank you so much for this video!! I was playing this piece in a competition and because of this video I won 2nd place!! Once again, thank you so much!! (:
I've learnt from the comments that this is intended for students, and… wow! It sounds awesome regardless; I'd absolutely listen to it for pleasure, because it's that well-written. :)
the violinist played it so good. it was VERY fast and she still played it with a beautiful sound..I hope I learn the 1st movement so I can play it on my audition lol
Very beautifully played! I worked on this piece, which whilst wonderfully melodic, contains a great deal of techniques, particularly the arpeggios at the end of the first movement. Rather than the Seitz opus 13, or opus 2/, this nice Rieding Concertino should be introduced to intermediate violin students. It fares at about the same level as Seitz opus 7, 12 and 15 in terms of playing difficulty. The key here is rhythm, phasing, bow distribution and beautiful tone.
My teacher just gave me this song, at the first reading my fingers were all over the place. He said i should practice it at home row by row or bar by bar or even beat by beat. I hope i can do it well, wish me luck!
At 1:33 the player played the count different from the way music shows. He/ she played the two quarter notes as if there was a dot on the first quarter note extending it to one and a half note instead of just one
This is such an excellent recording but as someone who is using it to practice I noticed they played the rhythm wrong at the fifth bar after a tempo on the second page (1:32). The ink shows clear quarter notes on 3 and 4 where the player plays a dotted quarter and an eighth like the rhythm in the next bar. Just something to note if you are someone who plays mostly by ear and might have missed it.
great !! Thanks for that cause i love this Rieding concerto. I play the first movement but not so fast as you do and now i play the andante sostenuto , you play it so well
5 years ago I was able to play the first movement by heart but then I lost the music sheet my teacher gave me, found it a week ago and I can't play it anymore, have to re learn the whole thing

It's a counting mistake, should be two quarter notes instead played dotted quarter and eight note. Also some half notes are chopped down to dotted quarter notes...this inevitably happens when you attempt at integrating a musical feel to an already technically challenging pièce.
Hermosa pieza y excelente interpretación, solo me incomoda ver que en el minuto 1:34 hace La y Si como una negra con punto y una corchea cuando son dos negras
