I pressed start after checking everything was okay and it was going well until it said "timeout error" and just stopped there. My internet went down also during the process for few seconds. Is that normal?
"Timeout error" means that you have something wrong with the USB drivers in your PC. Change USB port or cable, use another PC or reinstall USB drivers. I have no other advice. As for your internet problems, this is not normal and I have not seen anyone else complaining with the same problem as yours.
I am trying to unlock a Huawei Mate SE which is similar to the Honor 7x but with 64GB. When I click start on PotatoNV it starts to flash and about at 80% I get a device not available message. I am stumped.
@@uvzen thanks for your reply. I know about developer options and I have them enabled. I see a lot of developer options e.g. about usb debugging but no option to "Turn on OEM unlock". I've seen this option on my other android device, but it's not there on my Huawei P10 VTR that I brought from China.
@@meowcrobe Another way is to check "Disable FBLOCK (not recommended)" in PotatoNV. Thanks to this, you don't need to allow oem unlock, because bootloader can be unlocked without using the "fastboot oem unlock " command in fastboot mode.
The character on the wallpaper is Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul), but I'm using the Wallpaper Engine from steam for animated wallpapers, so I can't give you any link to the source.
I found the answer: According to GitHub page "Huawei Nova 2i / Mate 10 Lite RNE Kirin 65x (B)". They are listed on the GitHub page. Don't be dumb like me, search for it. :)
@MND I accidentally rooted with option A and it worked. But to prevent possible future problems did it again with option B. It doesn't matter I think assuming you had no problems with it.
There is no experimental method of unlocking the bootloader for the Kirin 970 via PotatoNV. I know how to temporarily unlock the bootloader for the Kirin 970, but it makes no sense because you won't root your device, you can just flash TWRP with the bootloader temporarily unlocked (as long as there is any TWRP for your device).
@@aaaa-cs9pe Where did you hear this information? As I wrote to you earlier, so far I know how to unlock the bootloader temporarily for the kirin 970 and I'm working on it so that I can unlock the bootloader permanently.
What device do you have? If you have a Kirin 620 device then as far as I know Kirin 620 devices don't have oem unlock in developer options so you don't need to enable it.
I just did a bit of a research and found out that there is such a thing as a software testpoint which can take the phone screen to blackscreen much like what this hardware testpoint approach you're using. My question is, can that be used instead of this your method, because it seems to me that what's important is getting to a blackscreen and connecting to that device layer to initialise the OEM unlock without the need for a code. 🤔 Edited: So, I successfully unlocked the bootloader of my Honor 9 (Kirin 960) using this method. It was quite straightforward after identifying my hardware testpoint node. Thank you for this video.
Yes, it might work. Programs like Dc Phoenix, Sigmakey, and others offer this service, but not for free. If you want to do so and prefer to pay, you can try it, but why? My video is based on unlocking bootloader for free and additionally after unlocking it doesn't perform a factory reset so it doesn't lose data. After running software testpoint you need to flash firmware, so you will lose data. Additionally, this option requires more time, so in my opinion it is not worth it.
@@uvzen okay. I'll stick to this method, then. I should be able to find a phone repairer that can help with opening the back of my phone. Mine is Honor 9. Could you please help me with where my Testpoint should be? 🙏
Ok, i followed every step on the video. Now, I have some problems fastboot oem get-lockstate - Says that the Bootloader is locked fastboot oem get-bootinfo - Says that the Bootloader is unlocked I cannot flash twrp. It says "FAILED (remote: 'image verification error')" when trying to. What can I do.
Use PotatoNV again and check "Disable FBLOCK (not recommended)" and then you will unlock bootloader without using the "fastboot oem unlock" (no need this command). After these steps check FBLOCK status in fastboot mode with this command "fastboot oem lock-state info", it should be status FBLOCK:unlocked. Try flash twrp after these steps.
any help ?, mi TRT-L53 just enter to fastboot mode and reboot like 5 seconds and again and again(the problem is not potato nv or drivers its my phone), any help?
It's hard to read the title and description of the video in which I described what devices it works on? Check what processor your device has, then check the list of supported processors in the description or in the title of the video. Your device (TRT-L53) has a SNAPDRAGON processor and PotatoNV only supports KIRIN processors.
This is a tool for unlocking bootloader, not bypassing FRP, although with an unlocked bootloader you can easily bypass FRP. Normally, OEM unlocking is required to be enabled in developer settings, but PotatoNV can unlock bootloader without OEM unlock enabled.
I haven't been able to get it working with Honor 8 Kirin 950. When I click start, the green progress bar loads. A few seconds after the progress bar is filled, the USB connection immediately disconnects. This would be followed by a time out error a few seconds later. I have tried several attempts by moving the connection points and using Huawei drivers. The result is the same.
You have something wrong with the basic usb drivers. If you don't have Hisuite then install this program, if you already have Hisuite try reinstalling Hisuite or install the latest Huawei usb drivers and after installation, don't forget to restart your PC.
@@uvzen Thanks for the quick response. I have Hisuite installed/reinstalled and used the drivers. I had two types of drivers on my list that were dated 2015 and 2016. Neither worked.
In PotatoNV, check the "Disable FBLOCK (not recommended)" option and press start. It should have you unlocking bootloader without unlock oem permissions.
@Alivu70 Do you also have ADB & Fastboot drivers installed? Everything is fine with PotatoNV, only you have something wrong with the drivers, I'm not going to guess. Maybe try to do it on a different PC/laptop. Install hisuite and ADB & Fastboot and testpoint drivers and then use PotatoNV.
@@alivu70 As for frp oem, if you checked "Disable FBLOCK (not recommended)" when unlocking bootloader, you already have the bootloader unlocked without using the command: fastboot oem unlock .

thanks alot worked for me mate 8 nxt l29
is there any other way without having to open up my device, as I do not have the tools
I have a question, how do you ground your testpoint?
Check this video: ruclips.net/video/A2y8UCoaigg/видео.html
@@uvzen I have Honor 7X and apparently, I have 2 testpoints. Should I short the 2 testpoints together? Also, what should I use to ground the testpoint?

Uvzen did u find any way to unlock honor play with kirin 970?
The installable programmer is 86-bit (32-bit). But for x64-bit Windows?... where is it?
thank you god bless you.
Do i seriously have to open up my tablet ? Huawai Mediapad T5. I just wanna install lineage os cause Android 8 is pretty old now and i got told lineage os dosent have all the google stuff by default installed which takes way to much of the 16gb of storage the device has.
This is the only way to unlock the bootloader, you need to open your tablet and use PotatoNV. There is also a PotatoNV tutorial on the xda-developers forum in the Huawei Mediapad T5 section.

What if i don't want to enter my own unlock code and instead get the original one?
I have Huawei y6II (CAM-L21) with Kirin 620
I just want to get the unlock code
The original key can be obtained, but it is a long and annoying process.
@@uvzen is it possible to do that with MRT HW Tool or SigmaKey? like this vieo: ruclips.net/video/ru5AGVlSPpk/видео.html
@@worldofmix6766 If you have android version 6 or 7 it will work, but use dc unlocker no sigma key or something else.
i watch This 6 times monthly on this year it doesn't work on my Huawei gr5 2017
Because you said unplug the battery so I follow then it doesn't work but when I plug the battery it work I just wasted 6 full months trying to unlock my Huawei bootloader
And I got my unlock bootloader code but I need to do it manually not automatic but thats ok I know how to do it
Do you think one day there will come a way to unlock it in Kirin 710?
Use HCU client if you want to unlock kirin 710 bootloader but it's not free.
I need help. I installed hisuite, adb drivers, test point drivers, potatonv and disassembled my device.
@@uvzen ye it was something on my end. I did it on other computer and it worked.
Does it work on huawei g8 (RIO-L02) or on Honor 5X (KiW-L21) ?
Anyways subbed and liked the video 💯
No, It only works on Kirin 960/659 CPUs, you have Snapdragon CPUs

after successfully doing all the step,my phone cant enter fastboot mode anymore...any solution?

I have the Chinese version of Huawei P10. There is no option in the android settings to "Turn on OEM unlock". Will this method still work?
Developer options are hidden by default, you need to enable them.
@@uvzen Thanks, it worked!
Hey bro! Do you mind sharing the wallpaper on your pc. I really like it
The character on the wallpaper is Ken Kaneki (Tokyo Ghoul), but I'm using the Wallpaper Engine from steam for animated wallpapers, so I can't give you any link to the source.

Honor 10 Lite does it work?
(Can you quickly answer this question?)
You will find the answer in my pinned comment.
why is mine kirin 620 when I start UBL it says "writing time out"??
You don't have basic usb drivers installed, hisuite installation and pc restart should fix the problem.

I'm using Huawei RNE-L01 (Mate 10 Lite). It uses Kirin 659. What should I select 659 (A) or 659(B)?
I found the answer: According to GitHub page "Huawei Nova 2i / Mate 10 Lite RNE Kirin 65x (B)". They are listed on the GitHub page. Don't be dumb like me, search for it. :)
@MND I accidentally rooted with option A and it worked. But to prevent possible future problems did it again with option B. It doesn't matter I think assuming you had no problems with it.
Hey! i heard there was a experimental bootloader unlock method for Kirin 970 devices, any updates about it?
There is no experimental method of unlocking the bootloader for the Kirin 970 via PotatoNV. I know how to temporarily unlock the bootloader for the Kirin 970, but it makes no sense because you won't root your device, you can just flash TWRP with the bootloader temporarily unlocked (as long as there is any TWRP for your device).
@@uvzen Yes, but i'm not asking about via PotatoNV, i heard there were comments here about a method for testing Kirin 970 bootloader unlock.
@@aaaa-cs9pe Where did you hear this information? As I wrote to you earlier, so far I know how to unlock the bootloader temporarily for the kirin 970 and I'm working on it so that I can unlock the bootloader permanently.
@@uvzen any luck with unlocking 970?
Any possibility of this working for Y9 Prime 2019 STK-LX3?
i dont have the option for oem unlock how can i proceed with the next step?
What device do you have? If you have a Kirin 620 device then as far as I know Kirin 620 devices don't have oem unlock in developer options so you don't need to enable it.
@@uvzenHow do i know the type of kirim my device have?
worked on huawei y6 ii CAM-L21, thanks you very much
will it work with kirin 970 honor 10?
I just did a bit of a research and found out that there is such a thing as a software testpoint which can take the phone screen to blackscreen much like what this hardware testpoint approach you're using. My question is, can that be used instead of this your method, because it seems to me that what's important is getting to a blackscreen and connecting to that device layer to initialise the OEM unlock without the need for a code. 🤔
Edited:
So, I successfully unlocked the bootloader of my Honor 9 (Kirin 960) using this method.

@@Edward_8647 Install Hisuite for the basic huawei usb drivers as I conclude you don't have them and try to use PotatoNV again.
Ok, i followed every step on the video. Now, I have some problems
fastboot oem get-lockstate - Says that the Bootloader is locked
fastboot oem get-bootinfo - Says that the Bootloader is unlocked
I cannot flash twrp.
@@uvzen That's what I did, actually. I checked that box and then I couldn't flash TWRP.

any help ?, mi TRT-L53 just enter to fastboot mode and reboot like 5 seconds and again and again(the problem is not potato nv or drivers its my phone), any help?
It's hard to read the title and description of the video in which I described what devices it works on? Check what processor your device has, then check the list of supported processors in the description or in the title of the video. Your device (TRT-L53) has a SNAPDRAGON processor and PotatoNV only supports KIRIN processors.
Maybe is the way to unlock bootloader on Huawei y6 2018.Please answer to me.
Nice video. Wil work this method with huawei Y635 l03?
You will find the answer in my pinned comment.
If I don't turn on developer options and OEM unlocking, can I unlock frp?
This is a tool for unlocking bootloader, not bypassing FRP, although with an unlocked bootloader you can easily bypass FRP. Normally, OEM unlocking is required to be enabled in developer settings, but PotatoNV can unlock bootloader without OEM unlock enabled.
@@uvzenthank you for reply! I've got it done😊

@@uvzen ok, i have my code, but when i go to fastboot to unlock he give me unlock frp or sometimes like this. Do you have a metod to unlock frp?
