4 cups all purpose flour. 1 Tbsp of baking soda. 1/2 tsp salt. 1 1/2 cups of hot water. Learned this from an Apache on RUclips. The wife will save 1/2 of this for later frying. It's delicious.
Is it Baking soda or baking powder 🤔
I use 2 c flour, 1 t salt, 1 t yeast, 2 t brown sugar and a little less than 1 C Warm Water.
@@michelelovesfreedom Thank you so much for this 💓 💞
Is your recipe what is referred to as "bannock"?
@@MyBearhugger Apache Fry Bread.
What's cool about this is you can add sesame seeds, herbs, powdered garlic, anything. Basically these are tortillas.
Self rising flour & water is all you need. It's better is you use milk instead. Use corn meal, it's cornbread, corn dodgers.
Add salt if desired. You can add a little sugar, add any kind of seasoning, herbs, etc.
Make it thin- it's pancakes. Thick it's hoecakes. Put melted butter in the batter, fry in butter, then all over when it's done and it's divine! Eat with syrup, jelly, cinnamon & sugar, with beans...it goes with everything.
Frybread and flour tortillas. Also, you can't forget the spanish red rice and beans. Yum!
I love chili beans..can is faster n tastier n corn tortillas
Kawn Bred, Y'all. Hot water corn dodgers. Corn meal + water, fry in any grease or oil. Done.
Most definitely
Corn bread is from corn meal not flour.
Tried it once. Did not turn out well. Sounds so simple.
@@thevictorianedge5465 corn meal is called corn flour in some parts of the world.
@@PulpParadise
We call it cornflour in Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Summer squash can replace apples in " apple" pie.
Half a cup of applesauce and a teaspoon of cimmamin go a long way in getting more apple flavor.
My granny use to use apple cider vinegar when she baked depression apple pie.
Thanks for the demo! The only comment I want to make is about the salt. I know you added it saying "because this isn't the apocolypse" like it is a luxury but I would add it's as essential as the flour - especially a GOOD salt like Himilayan pink, Celtic Sea Salt or Redmond Salt from the ancient sea salt mines in Utah. We can survive without flour - we can't survive without a good naturally mineralized salt. Salt is so valuable and the ancients knew it. Ever heard the phrase "worth his salt"? It meant worth the wage he was paid because Roman soldiers were often paid in salt.
Also good to have plenty of iodized salt on hand as pink Himalayan salt does not contain iodine. Or have Mary Ruth’s iodine drops on hand. I have all of it. Also have topical iodine. Lots are deficient in it and can benefit from extra drops.
Completely agree. It's essential to stockpile salt. It's also used to dry meat and such.
For most single loaf bread recipes (even whole grains) you don't need more than a heaping teaspoon of yeast, just let it rise longer. Conserve what you have 😊
Better yet, keep some of the dough aside then you soon have sourdough and don't need yeast at all.
Rudy you make the apocalypse look good brother! Have a great week!
Rudy makes me look forward to the apocalypse.... let it come!!!!
Vikings did similar bread but with open fire and no yeast. I made such bread in Stockholm Museum.
Indian fry bread?
Good evening Rudy and everyone from East Tennessee.
Nice video. Looks delicious. It would be a great help if you could post the recipe in your comments section for easier memory. It's a nice way to follow along if you know what is in the recipe as you are demonstrating.
You need to look up and try bannock I take it into mountains hunting all the time. Love it with grape jelly 😉
Do you by chance have a receipe for batter bread? It is a batter the consisted of cornbread batter, but when baked in skillet in oven is bread.
I always love the video when you're in your kitchen!
Now that looks delicious! 😊 thankyou AP 👍
He put the dough in the refrigerator to ferment 😮instead outside?😱
We call it bannock in these parts.😊 No yeast, but often added oats or raisins etc.
Looks fabulous
Thank you!!
Rudy, I have a question....you first stated a "tiny bit of yeast" but then you said a 1/4 of a Tablespoon. That would be 3/4 of a teaspoon, correct? It just confused me a little. Great video and it looks great! I miss your teaching in the kitchen and food prepping videos! Been watching you a long time...Be Blessed and stay safe!!
Do you think he meant 1/4 teaspoon?
@@LisaArmstrong-s9fI am not sure..what do u think?
Love Luke's overnight bread. Outdoor Boys is a favorite.
Chef AP that looks amazing. Nice Job
Blessings and prayers to you and your family
Looks so good! Thanks for the easy recipe😊
Looks good Rudy! Folks have no idea how easy it is to make Tortillas
Looks delicious! It reminds me of Indian fry bread, and I bet a taco would be good on it, too!

Wough Rudy, what a nice kitchen!!!!! Haven't been here in a while. Way to go Dude!! NICE
That looks pretty good. I bet you wouldn't get any complaints if it *was the apocalypse! 😂
Thanks for sharing!
We love Outdoor Boys! (And your channel, of course!)
Wow, Rudy, that plate is the same kind I have!!! I can't find them anymore. Also stock up on Nido powdered milk to possible use for making butter and cheese.
I haven’t had meat in about 25 years, but I would eat that, it looks delicious
Boy, that looks good. I'll have to try it with my flour.
Cool new technique! Love it! Can't wait to try it! ❤
That looks delicious. Thanks, AP.
Yummmmmmm, looks fantastic 🦘
brilliant video!
Apocalypse bread? I doubt you will have power to run a refrigerator. Cold creek water may be all you can get.
Thanks AP
Looks a lot like Navajo fry bread, so yummy!
Wow, that looks so good! Thank you!
If you use self rusing flour you don't need yeast.😊
that looks like bannock bread
Rudy, did you say 50 pounds of butter? 😮 Where the heck do you keep that much? 😂
Freezer
Drooling!😍
I'm inspired to come to your house! Yum!! Yum!! 😀
Very clever...thank you.
Im glad to see you cooking. You always make such delicious looking food.
I gave up bread a long time ago. But I refuse to give up health foods.

Amazing recipe AP wow ,did u invent this?🤔
Wounder if almond flour would work?
Coconut flour works better
learn to make different types of tortillas and indian bread
How long does cornmeal last compared to flour
I was thinking pizza instead of steak sandwiches. Is that possible with the Flatbread?
Why is yeast used if not allowing to rise? You don't need yeast for this recipe.
Not bad Rudy. Try a zucchini or squash flour bread next...
True grit had corn dodgers.
thank you
RUDY HOW LONG WILL BUTTER LAST IN THE FREEZER?👋👋👋👋👋👋
First time watching you interesting thank you🤗
What if you don't have yeast?
refrigerator, steak, butter, - this is not apocalypse but a picnic 😂
Mmmm! Looks yummy!
Dang, I had to go out and buy 50# of butter. Now to can ghee ❤
Where is a good place to invest in 50 lbs of butter for the price?
Is that like a bannock?
I'm a fan of Outdoor Boys; I watch it all the time. It gets millions of views.
hello gtsy
Please teach your kid's manners, especially elementary school-age children its lacking if they make a mistake, don't laugh, discipline, and laughing only encourage the bad behavior, even adult's are acting badly 😢so even discipline yourself 😂this would be a fun activity for school-age children.
Yummy lookin' sammich, Rudy!
50# of butter is only a couple of weeks! 😂😂😂
Some call that tortillas 😊
Bannock
Parchment paper contains Teflon...not good
Yum!
Yummy
Another thing, hard tack can last forever. But guess what it truly is????? A dried out version of Seitan...
Video on dry brine??
.
Yum 😋
You use a lot more than I have and you take longer. I have made skillet bread with flour and oil and hot water and a little salt to taste, just mix everything together for a stiff dough and press out as thin as you can and fry it in a skillet. Makes pretty good tortillas for me.
Dang it Rudy you made me hungry lol 😂
That’s a tortilla 😂
My mom use to just do self rising flour and water. Fried up. Ive done it a few times myself when thats what i had. Im thankful for my mawmaw and mom for teaching me how to make do with what you have And to always keep extra on hand when possible 😊
Thank you!
