Total Care In Under 10 Minutes - ruclips.net/video/bTfbMPkRtUA/видео.html
Hey great video happy you posted again I have been wanting to watch your videos again. My Sarracenias already woke up and they are making divisions!
I lost my aquarium full of Lowe’s Flytraps I’d dragged around and put in dormancy for about 20 years when I finally put them out with my sarracenia. One hard freeze and they died. This year I’ve just discovered cultivars! I literally cried when I opened a DCXL cross Bigmouth. It’s freakin HUGE. And red ones! I really hope I can keep the alien alive. They are all outdoors, but my bog pot building has improved and I just moved them into the partial shade to not sunburn them. I put them out last night, so this video was perfect timing. 💚
So, in a way losing your typicals was a blessing because it led you to cultivars! And now your carnivorous plant journey is about to get much more expensive! Also more rewarding but definitely more expensive! Lol.
They don’t like being in terrariums
@@CarnivorousPlantsHub oh yea. I found a Chinese Dumpling. Is there a “take my money” emoji? 🤣 Plants much happier outside, but they’re on a city street corner trying to look inconspicuous.
Great video. I'm new to Fly Traps but just got a Red Piranha and it looks awesome.
Red Piranha, good choice! I don't have one right now, but would love one some day!
Damn..bird attack. Not the first thing that comes to one's mind when considering plant care :D
Ya... birds and squirrels. I think the bird was trying to pull the flytrap for their nest. The entire plant was uprooted and sitting on the table. I think it broke the roots as they were short. Oh well. They are replaceable.
That really does look cool! Great tip at the end as well. I accidentally killed most of my flytrap seedlings last year and only have 7 in their 2nd season. But from this year's seeds I so far have about 70 seedlings! Just learning and trying again :)
They can be tricky, especially cultivar to cultivar. Seedlings have always given me a bit of trouble too. I just always try again!
Question: are springtails bad for fly traps? They have taken over my peat and perlite mix. Assuming it's because they are constantly moist and therefore fungus develops with they feed on. Can't seem to find a straight answer online whether they are a problem or not. If they are, best way to deal with them?
Springtails are amazing! They do not impact carnivorous plants negatively at all. I've had several colonies of springtails living with my plants. I've never had an issue. They only eat rotted material, they leave the healthy stuff alone.
@@CarnivorousPlantsHub Thank you!
Yeah i lost my alien from California carnivores to the sun and because of my ignorance. Lesson learned the hard way
Partially me too, that and birds. Ugh.
Great video. I'm on my second Alien cultivar. First plant I believe the rhizome was protruding out and got stressed... I have a second young plant and it's doing pretty well but like you, I want to replant it into another larger pot.... thanks man!
I got this cultivar at the exhibition in Prague for 15€, and I really enjoy look of this beauty
Heads up the care tracker never was sent out to me in my email inbox!
Shoot, I'm sorry. Send me an email at cplantshub@gmail.com and I'll get you one out!
Ive had an alien for 2 yrs and its a slow grower as far size.
Q. How do you know if the blackening on the traps are natural or if something is wrong?
If it's an older trap, you should be okay. Older traps turn black and die regularly. If it's a relatively new trap or a trap that hasn't opened, this is a bad sign. Could be numerous things. Most common thing I've experienced is rot.
@CarnivorousPlantsHub I may be on the safe side. It rained alot these past few days and it over watered my plant. I'm sure it'll be OK. Thanks
i just got A VFT from california carnivorus, but its really tiny, any way to help speed its growth
Just make sure to give it proper care. Here are some traps I got from CalCarn. Just to give you an idea of what to expect. ruclips.net/video/DW5CPsl9zE4/видео.html
@@CarnivorousPlantsHub thank you! I just think mine has really small traps bc its just got into the growing season (ironic cause its a ginormous
@@CarnivorousPlantsHub i also use refreshee distilled water
Hi I killed my plant again…. 😢
Oh no! I'm sorry. My best advice is, make some adjustments and try again!
i was just wondering of the traps on alien specificly close corrrectly and can seal or will i need to use leaf fertilizer when i get it?
Wish you luck on your second one
Thank you my friend!
I realized you mention California Carnivores a lot so I myself checked out their website and purchased a Dionaea m. 'Phalanx' Potted. Ever since I started watching your channel, I been having success on keeping my plants alive. I now have 3 lol I’m too obsessed
Wow, thank you so much. These are the comments that really keep me going. My entire goal is to help make carnivorous plants more household type plants. The fact that you went from one to now 3 makes me so happy! I just want people to realize how amazing these plants are. They are tricky at first but once you get it down, they are so rewarding! Thank you for supporting my channel and thank you for the amazing comment. I really do appreciate you!
what happened to the mothership?
