She really wouldn't preform differently, because the toe picks and the blade characteristics make it basically impossible. That's why she couldn't go around the pylons smoothly, because she wasn't used to having to skate like that as well as handle a puck.

I despise figure skates. The toe picks and the thin blade really impact my skating style. Normally I'm a slalom inline skater with a rockered setup, which is very close family with the ice hockey blade. Transferring between the two is relatively easy with only an inverse of grip (inline skating; more lean = less grip, ice skating; more lean = more grip). I tried rental figure skates a few times and 98% of the time I was forced to skate backwards simply because I kept tripping over the toe picks. Since then I bought transformer ice blades which are hockey blades that can be attached to my inline skate frame instead of the wheels. The adaptation phase is practically non-existant now.

I mean the guy lived in north America for almost 10 years and most of the rest of his career was spent in Germany. I was a figure skater before I started playing hockey. Hockey is basically just figuring skating with less tricks and more hitting. Also the reason that he did a little bit better than her is because a lot of skating coaches are figure skaters and they make hockey players learn some of this stuff, especially crossovers and turns

But not only does he try her game, she tries his, and both end up learning a thing or two. It must have been so much fun to do this challenge! The technique used between hockey skates, figure skates, and speed skating skates are very different, so it's not that surprising
as a rollerblader who rides flat it is quite different with a curved blade but i didnt struggle as much as she did very surprising
