I realized it didn't help boost my mood BC I was listening t how she was talking about how beautiful she is and I pointed out the parts of me that were flawed. Years later in high school I slowly started to come out of my depression and pep talked myself into putting a smile on my face and appreciating the things that I do have which is a body. I had slimmed down quite a bit over the years. I'll never be small but I'm okay with that. The thing that really changed how I thought of my self was just this last year when I met a guy. Long story short. He constantly put me down every single day for months. I cried everyday BC lets face it I'm a wimp lol I'm unfortunately very sensitive and I let his words get to me. I'm glad I did though BC after so long of putting up with his hurtful words and comparisons between me and other women I stopped listening. I stopped listening and locked myself in the bathroom everyday for about an hour. I stared at my reflection closely and I started to see how beautiful I am. I complimented myself and it felt good. After years of self hate and hate from others I turned into a then 18 y/o with confidence. I'm only 19 now but I swear I've never felt so damn good in my entire short lived life and I listen to this song every chance I get because I reminds me of the journey it took for me to get here. It reminds me that I have grown into an amazing, humble, beautiful, still shy lol young woman and I refuse to go back to being that low again.
