I get that this is not the original lineup, but I have nothing bad to say about the current state of the band. Seen em live many times with this lineup and enjoyed myself every single time. Thanks for this video.
It must really grate when you played with Lee Brilleaux over 30 years ago, and have kept the flame burning ever since, yet still people say you're 'not the original band'.
i saw them last night and i thought they were very good, perhaps not the original line up but still excellent musicians and the large audience liked them , would you prefer that nobody plays live Dr feelgood music ? because to me that's what its all about the music
This band can stand on their own merits. If you want something closer to being at a 70s Feelgood's gig there are covers bands like The Feelgood Band who 'do it right'
Although I’m too young to have seen the original line up Iv seen this lineup 3-4 times and it’s truly in my top live band lists. This seems lacklustre tbh but every time Iv seen them the energy is huge especially from Kane.
Whether they're good or not, or even better musicians than their earlier line-ups with at least one of the original members they shouldn't be touring under the name, cos I if think of Dr. Feelgood I think of Lee Brilleaux fronted band. They could be called Feelgood -band or Dr. whatever, cos that's what I expect from a tribute band, a very good one but still a tribute band. People into their recent sound would know well enough to get to the gigs anyway. Now it is as if Billy Preston had formed a band called The Beatles after their split and hired a bunch of seasoned fab four mimers playing by his side.
I don't agree with your Beatles comment. Guitar, bass & drums all joined Feelgood in 1983, 11 years before Lee died. I saw them with Lee many times through the 80s. Seen this line-up several times & glad they're keeping the music alive. Better than no Feelgood at all.
I will not pass judgement in this band's ability but lets keep it real, these dudes playing as Dr Feelgood is as legit as would be Led Zep without Page/Plante, The Beatles without McCartney/Lennon, The Stones without Jagger/Richards, The Who without Daltrey/Townshend. Lee Brilleaux did a good job carrying the torch but when Wilco left, Dr Feelgood was the equivalent of a world class swimmer losing an arm.
Lol. Me too! Up until about 8 months ago, I simply thought that Dr. Feelgood was just the album by Motley Crue. Turns out, Dr. Feelgood formed in the early 70's. Love these guys. Good time blues-based rock n roll!
@@ilarikokko7485 I saw them in original line up with Wilko and Brilleaux ... that was energy, power and sweat working rock !! Without Wilko it was okay and groovie .. Brilleaux was a very, very good singer. But this is .... NOTHING fine
Yeah - I noticed that these guys in their 60s don't have quite the same cockiness & manic energy that the original line up of lads in their 20s who did a lot of speed. I can't imagine why that would be - can you ?
No. Its like Ringo and Paul going out as the Beatles. When Lee died so did the band. Wilko left of his own accord. He does not go out as Dr Feelgood yet he wrote most of the songs.
@@M3MYS3LFNiixX Totally incorrect Caran as at least they were in the Beatles-its like Yoko Ono going out as the Beatles. My sentiments are with you though-this is shit
Lee Brilleaux requested that Dr Feelgood should continue after him. Here they are. Saw Dr Feelgood with Lee back in the early 1990s, shortly before Lee passed. Would prefer that Lee still sang with the band, that cannot be. Planning on seeing this line up in a couple of months. Reckon they can pull it off and the money paying audience seem to like it 😀

I saw this band live last night and they were nothing short of magnificent. The guitarist Steve Walwyn was the Feelgoods guitar player when Lee Brilleaux passed away, the drummer and bass player had already been in place 6 years prior to that. so they definitely have the provenance.Brilleaux's wishes were that the band should continue and so here we are. Yes the frontman has big shoes to fill, but is a terrific performer in his own right.
Love Steve Walwyns guitar playing n tone
It gotta be the music genre why Steve is not commonly rated as a "guitar hero", he truly is playing in masters class. Soul, sound, style.

Answer to that is do something new. Lee Brilleaux was a one off , one of the greatest frontmen of all time

Robert was also in a band called The alligators great 😊
Ну шикарно же!!!
Robert Kane....No attitude at all. I saw many times this line up with Lee Brilleaux and that`s was Real Stuff
Brilleaux and Wilco Johnson looked and played as if they would beat everyone up after the gig😁 Dr Feelgood was an attitude more than just a band

Such a pity but a huge “No”. R.I.P. Lee.
They lost their power when Pete Gage left.
The orginal line-up + Pete would be the better choice.

They need to change their name to Dr Feelgood tribute band.
Who are these guys?
Sorry, but how do they feel right calling themselves Dr Feelgood?
wtf , i searched for motley crue

Robert Kane is a rip off of Lee Brilleaux.
It's not easy to replace Lee... this formation doesn't seem to have energy.

the rythm section , bass drums from more over 30 years ...

Sounds good but without the energy of Lee and Wilco they are more like Dr. So So. Also can the singer rip on harp and slide like Lee?
Not even a good tribute act.
