    This is very admirable. I live in London on around £55,000. It’s incredibly expensive here, I have to budget everything and can only save a few hundred pounds a month.
    I don’t think I could do £30,000.

      Awww thank you very much 🤗🥰.. London is crazy expensive especially since Covid 🥺.. yeah I feel you £30k aren’t manageable long term or if you have a family.. I realised that my future aren’t in London anymore and focused on saving as much as possible, without that I would be saving way less and amybe even living from paycheck to paycheck 😑

    I’m the same age as you, I earn almost the same as you, have the same expenses as you, saving for house deposit, so it’s really great to see someone on the same part of the (sometimes tough) journey, it makes me want to keep going. However, I would say that you should take a serious look at putting some of that money into your pension. I know it’s rough when trying to save for a house but the younger you start the better. Time is the most valuable thing you have and compounding growth for that money will save you so much work down the line, not to mention the tax relief you get when contributing. I would suggest opening a SIPP but there are lots of great RUclips channels that teach you everything you need to know 😊 thanks for making this video and good luck with the job hunting ❤

      Awwww yay someone similar to me 🤗 I feel like everyone seems to be earning much more for out age so nice to see that our salary is also normal 🙌🏻.. I paid pension - literally stopped on the beginning of this year to save as much as possible.. Im glad I did it as it gave me extra money and only missed like 5 payments before being made redundant 😑.. now I actually on career break so all the savings going to traveling 🙈.. hope you will be able to buy soon 🥰 xx

    I use my library card to get. Physical and digital books (Borrow Box app and Libby)! No cost. The library app also gives me access to magazines and newspapers.

    Hi, I think you are very good in your saving amount, do you invest in something like shares stocks index funds? And also you didn’t mention anything about travels? Do you travel?

    • @Petra_Fort
      @Petra_Fort  3 дня назад

      Hiya ☺️ thank you.. no, I do not invest - I probably should as Im missing out, but Im too scared to loose the money.. I only put my money in high interest savings accounts.. I do travel - I usually do one big trip a year - last year did 2 weeks in South Korea and couple short ones like going home to Czech Republic and around Europe (Copenhagen was the last city).. like atm Im on career break and using all my saved money to do nothing 🤣 so far 4 months in and currently Im in Japan and then will travel Asia till January.. my plan was to save as much as possible and when I fell it to treat myself to holidays without any limitations as that’s usually how I spend my money instead of materialistic things 🙌🏻

    I thought you did well with your money, you pretty much do exactly what i do, right down to the Barclays blue rewards. During COVID my husband was made redundant from his job at an airline and i was unable to make any sales with the business i ran from home, so we had to go for, i think it was, 10 months on our savings in the end. Since we own a house, this was tough, but we did it because we had no other loans, debts etc. I cancelled everything that was unnecessary and we didn't go anywhere or buy anything except the cheapest food from the supermarket. I am so glad, that the fact we were always sensible with money meant that we didn't loose the house and everything we worked for. You seem to use your finances in the same way and it will stand you in good stead during the tough times, you never know what is round the corner in life. Edit: I forgot to mention, i have also been where you are in terms of not being able to sleep all night and it sucked, it was quite a few years before i managed to get it under control somewhat and it was by imagining scenarios i enjoyed, while trying to get to sleep. By fitting myself into an enjoyable story, sometimes ones like a film i had just watched or a book i read, then i was thinking about that and not worrying about real life. Most times i fell asleep before i got very far in my 'story'. Anyway, i wish you all the best :)

      Awwwww that sounds so tough 🥺 well done managing so well and having enough buffer!! 💚 That’s what Im the most worried that I wouldn’t have big enough buffer in case something happens.. a month ago I have been made redundant out of nowhere and omg Im so glad that I was strict with myself and my finances as I have now some time to figure out what’s best for me next instead of taking the first job to be able to afford my bills.. About the sleeping I was trying everything - watching disney, reading possible books before bed but nothing was helping.. But now I can sleeo well as I finally have a plan and things moving in a right direction 🤗

      @@Petra_Fort I am glad you are moving in the right direction and can feel a sense of peace about it. It feels horrible and very personal to be out of a job when you didn't want to leave. By being smart with money you have set yourself up well, if you were to move out of London the cost of living would be quite a bit lower, is it something you would consider?

    • @Petra_Fort

      Thank you 🤗.. yeah it does, I was eventually planning to leave anyways but just loosing a job on spot is the worse feeling.. yes, I used to live in Kent actually during the pandemic and now I’m planning to relocate again - I will share it in video in 2 weeks time 🤗
