    I just clicked over 1K on my 23, I’m going to do my first at 2k and put Rotella 5-40 synthetic in it. I don’t trust dealership tech’s because I work at one and the horror stories are endless.

    So how much oil did you actually use? I am finding that adding back 13 quarts is too much, or the dip stick is grabbing oil coming out of the tube making it look like it's got too much.

      I think I used 12.5 quarts. You need to buy three jugs or 13 quarts.
      Let the truck sit for a bit and then check your oil.

      Thanks. That sounds about right. The last couple of times I have changed mine I added in 13 quarts and the dipstick was tough to read. I changed it again the other day and ended up adding around 12.5 quarts and that has me just under the nominal line.

      I have seen in 2022 they say the 6.7 takes 15qts of oil anyone ever find this to be true?

      @SticksBlog 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Cobes_347No, the 17-22’s take 13 quarts. The 23+ take 15 quarts.

    how often are the fuel filters changed; i have read the fuel filters are critical to keeping fuel pump from exploding; at least on the older 6.7.

      Every 15000miles. Add diesel conditioner every time you fill up . That will save your pump.

      @@WeekendHobbyMechanic what kind of diesel conditioner do you use?

      @@rameylewis7730 I bought whatever was on sale lol. But the “Ford Diesel 6.7L Maintenance Care Tips” Letter (Page 2; Take Care of Your Fuel Injection System) states, “Diesel fuel quality is critical for reliable engine operation. Motorcraft® Cetane Booster & Performance Improver, PM-22-A (U.S.) / PM-22-B (Canada) can be added to improve fuel economy, starting ability and reduce engine wear.”

      @@WeekendHobbyMechanic Thanks for your quick response. I've heard different people talk about using additives or not using them. That they're not needed and others saying they are a must!! I'll look more into it.

      Never had a problem in 100's of thousands of miles just doing fuel filters @ 15k miles.
      But the internet hysteria has me using Archoil fuel additives....so far I haven't seen the MPG claims, but it's peace of mind.
