He trained everyone one of them, scolded everyone one of them but most importantly, loved everyone of them...
Zhi Xin Li he’ll be back
everyone one
If he dies Greys Anatomy will be done
I audibly gasped when it was revealed that she was never there.
futuremovieactor Who was never there?
Katherine Mora Catherine? I think
Who wasn't there ?
I was so heated.
Same,I was wondering how she got to Seattle so fast, then the reveal!
If Richard is going to start seeing people who aren't in the room, please PLEASE, get Loretta Devine who played Adele to return! She'd be the perfect voice of reason to help Richard through all this! I know Adele isn't alive on the show anymore, but people have seen/talked with ghost on it before... I just think she'd be the perfect person along side Catherine to be there for Richard!
YESSSSSSSSSSSS
Or even Ellis!
Write the writes on IG find them and let them know this. Please do. I’ll rather see her then Ellie I know someone commented that.
hell yes. Loretta gave an Emmy award winning performance. Bring her back. Altough I Heard there was some bad blood bewtween Shonda and her.
BibliophileColorist They should have an entire episode dedicated to the women in Richards life. They could bring in his mother, Ellis, Holly, Adele,
Bailey’s expression killed me! It’s like she’s finally realising what was right in front of her 💔😭
literally, although sometimes Bailey and Richard fight, then they get angry and end up making peace but deep down Bailey always loved Bailey
this scene made me cry so hard, I'll be so heartbroken if they kill off richard or if he has dementia or alzheimer's
That's quite possible.
Or some end stage liver disease :(
topotoonoon they aren’t going too the actor who plays Richard said this season was gonna be ups and downs with him but that tot would all come around so I don’t think he is gonna die or be super sick and not remember anyone
I wonder if it’s more of Parkinson’s dementia, considering his hand was shaking a few episodes back. But definitely a classic, emotional Grey’s Anatomy episode.
Bit of a long shot (but considering these shows are more drama than facts it's a possibility), it could be something called Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome which is basically dementia caused by long term alcohol misuse (also after looking it up because I couldn't remember how to spell the name and make sure I was right, hallucinations is also listed as one of the symptoms along with memory loss)
For the first time in a long time i have cried my balls out. Richard is literally thr foundation of this show. He made every of those main doctor characters. Please i beg of you do not kill him😭
cried my balls out. That made me laugh
He’ll pull through!
meredith only on screen for like 30 sec and she nailed it out of the park! brillant actress
I agree with you on 💯 percent there is something wrong with Dr. Richard Webber. I think Meredith just found the answer to his problem. She will find some way to get Richard to feeling better soon.
I think this is the most i've cried in Grey's history... and that's saying A LOT!!! 😢😢 I had to re-watch this so many times and i am still lost for words.
You and me both
This is definitely not the direction i saw this episode going and it hurts. One moment everything was kinda light and typical tv show banter next thing i know i feel heavy and i'm sobbing. The story of Hayes' wife is sad ... but this!!
Shanice Hutchinson I was crying through out every episode this season really got to me and including the fact there’s only 2 more seasons left
I was legitimately shocked when she disappeared from the bed..if anything happens to him, it will be over for a lot of people, myself included.
Currently crying too!
Am I the only one who guessed Richard was hallucinating from the start!? Catherine was acting way too nice to be real. The real Catherine wouldn't be so quick to apologize either 😂
that’s exactly what i was saying
From the beginning of the episode when Richard called Maggie "Meredith" I knew something was wrong. I was really hoping I was wrong... :(
caramelsupreme Same. They wouldn't have made him say that in the beginning of it didn't mean anything. I was very suspicious
I agree, but after the Alex episode I thought they were doing another episode where major drama was just swept under the rug, but when Catherine disappeared I felt immediate fear.
@@caramelsupreme I thought he was joking😭 or maybe by accident ... damn
This was straight up the most heartbreaking thing on Grey's for me. Seeing Richard forget Maggie and Haynes and having to be wheeled out on a stretcher. The moment I realized that he was hallucinating my heart broke and I could hardly breath for the rest of the episode. Please not Richard too, he's like the founding father of Grey Sloan, he was and alway will be the chief.
Kaity john He’s going to be fine, I feel it!
Even on a good day, death comes for us all.
So..... you didn’t catch the episode where Meredith watched Lexie die in a forest under an airplane? Or like idk when she watched her husband die?
@@redflower4315💁🏾♀️ I caught all those episodes but that's why I said for me. I've always had a soft spot for Richard.
What episode is this from
now THIS is the Grey's i've missed.
this scene was so damn sad. i felt so bad and sad for Richard, but also all of the family and friends watching him. Bailey's face at 1:58 was also priceless and perfect in that moment.
this entire episode was really good in my opinion.
one of grey's best plot twist ever
pnguyena512 really great plot twist just like last weeks episode with Deluca!
pnguyena512 omg yes it was
Yes, this episode and last weeks were good. Sure the minute this show is bad, give out the good episodes toward the end of the season.
Yes I wasn't expecting that.
Along with George’s death it was one of the best plot twist ever.
I was literally shocked when I realized his wife was never there (the moment she just disappeared from the bed). And it reminded me when Izzie Stevens started having cancer (she was able to see, hear and touch her dead fiancé). I really hope nothing too bad is happening to Richard 🤦🏽♀️☹️
He already had a brain tumor in season 1 and Derek removed it. Richard showed his scans to Amelia after hee brain surgery. She laughed, that she could operate on his tumor while her tumor was being operated on.
cobalt infection
If Richard was gonna have a monumental stroke he couldn't have asked for a better place to have it than in a room filled with highly regarded doctors. I just wish one of them had the foresight to ask "Is there a doctor in the house?"😂😂😂
@Ashley Brown Those symptoms could have easily lead to a stroke.
Me too! But Dr House wasn't invited 🤣🤣🤣🤣
when they showed that catherine has never been in the room...
I was left speechless by this scene.
I don't think I've ever felt so much for an episode of grey's, maybe when lexie died or christina left, but I never been hit like that.
they did such a good job with this scene, I don't even know how to describe how this left me an emotional mess
Literally this entire thing left me speechless. The way you can see his mind isn't there as he progresses through the pictures left me shocked
THIS SEASON is breaking my heart...AND CORONA too....BUT We Will rise up ....
Koyu Shrestha nice try on the save to let people know your concern regarding a worldwide pandemic rises to the level of concern for a television season.
i must say, after the whole alex mess, this was such a well-written and heartbreaking moment. the "who are you" to maggie broke me, and the fact that meredith and bailey, the two people who've been with him since the beginning were shown watching and coming to a realisation and worry so quickly made it that much more powerful. please don't kill him off :(
That is the greatest plot twist ever , this was painful to watch
I had high hopes Richard and Catherine were getting back together. Their break up was so stupid. Is this what marriage is now? Nobody goes for the long haul anymore? Why should anyone bother anymore?
Me too I was really happy thinking they had finally reconciled. ..The twist was really shocking and sad
Catherine is an insane and controlling person, I always thought Richard could do better tbh..
Raephaele Masirnille I don’t remember any healthy marriages in any of Shonda Rhimes shows. 🤔🤔.
@@noni5961 I think Ben and Bailey have had a good run. Sure they've fought and they've had tragedy, but they're still together
@@kaminosystem I really liked Catherine in the early days. But this season she has become unbearable to watch. I never understood what she saw in Richard. He is a chronic cheated but Owen seems to be then one everybody hates.
As soon as he said I have the cure for cancer I knew something was wrong
My heart literally dropped. I'm so worried about poor Richard. I hope he'll be okay.
Poor Richard, honestly I know he has made PLENTY of mistakes. He has struggled with love, alcoholism, loss... but his imperfections have made him one of my favorite characters. He deserved a happy ending, something so many characters never get... I’ll be truly sad if he gets sick and never gets better. He’s a character in this show that reminds me of people I know, imperfect but they still love deeply.
I actually felt sick, my father had a stroke only a few months ago, this felt all too familiar
My mom had a stroke 2 yrs ago today, she's ok and back to full health today, but seeing this....so many memories flooded back. 😢
My mom had a stroke 2 yrs ago as well. This really hit home. The ugly cry came out.
My dad had a stroke almost 4 years ago 2 days after my 18th birthday and this just brought everything back I was in tears for richard
Charlotte D I really hope your father is doing better now. Stay strong, stuff like this is never easy but you just have to try to keep your head up!
@@katlyn6928 he is doing better but still not himself, just trying to keep my head up, I appreciate this thank you ♥️
Omg my dad had a stroke and was not making sense right before and didn’t know me. This feels too familiar.
My eyes r literally feeling with tears he’s not drunk Catherine wth
It first appears to be Parkinson’s because of the hallucinations, his hand trimmers in the last episode and aggression buuuut this is Greys Anatomy so I’m sure he is going to have some super rare illness.
2:49 who are you? That hit me hard 😢
Sophie Ahrens Brings back memories of Ellis and Meredith
When it was revealed that Catherine wasn't there my heart dropped. I don't think they'll kill Richard off, but this is going to be tough for Maggie, Meredith and Catherine.
Scorehound same here I literally gasped and covered my mouth
This seems to be a room where TEDx talks are conducted.
Meera Shankar the giant red circle 🔴
My name is Richard Webber and I have cured cancer, thank you for coming to my TED talk
This is the same setting Yang gave a presentation in where Burke showed up
@@Cck_912 like Andrew Yang?
pnguyena512 no..... Andrew is Andrew DeLuca. I’m talking about Cristina Yang.
Catherine is a terrible wife. Her first reaction is that he is drunk.
Calm down when an alcoholic acts like this you assume they’re drunk...
Soon 2b ex
If my dad was acting like this I would assume he's drunk to because he's an alcoholic
She's a bad wife for many other reasons but that is not one of them.
It’s his past honestly. Not her fault.
It’s kind of sad that Catherine was all “He’s drunk” it’s sad that even though he was sober for a long time that the first thing she thought was that he was drunk.
Sadly, once people know some has had a problem with alcohol at some point in their lives, it's very common for people to jump to that.
Yeah that kinda rubbed me wrong. I know they aren't on good terms lately but geez, she knows better than that
I almost took my quarantine mask off when it was revealed that Catherine was never there 😂😷😷😂😂
When he mentioned Catherine's help, and everyone looked confused I think that was the first clue that something is wrong. I don't think its a stroke, It would be too easy for Greys. I am wondering if something that can be a longterm effect of substance use.
Can we just take a moment to acknowledge James Pickens Jr.'s acting chops.. This was amazing.
He definitely has dementia, he saw Catherine when she wasn't there, he forgot stuff, he acted wierd
Wolfs ForLife where is Catherine tho?
@@sosopeople9157 watching him on tv in Seattle, still at the hospital she owns.
Or a tumor, it seems like what Izzie experienced.
I agree
@@kaminosystem you have a good point...
Ugh, this episode took me out. Soooo good. Good to see some Teddy backstory and I like the new doctor. I hate that Catherine’s first thought was he was drunk but glad she showed real concern when she realized it was a serious issue. Glad Maggie was there for him too especially since Meredith or Bailey weren’t
Arguably he’s the best character he’s such a sweetheart to everyone and Catherine just treats him terribly
One of the best grey's episodes so far!I AM SHOOK
This is so hard to watch. I can't imagine losing another backbone of the show.
Will truly be done with this show if Richard dies!
doc89b my thoughts exactly!!!!
Congratulations
I remember when they almost killed him in the season 9 finale. He got electrocuted in the hospital basement during a bad storm.
@@BellesView And heather hit her head after getting electrocuted when she saw him and went to save him. That moment was painful to watch
doc89b I’m going to be done with the show when they take Meredith off
ive legit been reading and trying to study the possible conditions that they wrote on the whiteboard in the promo for the next episode
Matthew Suh my money is on Parkinson’s dementia. Otherwise some neurological cancer that explains the hand shaking and the cognitive issues.
I saw someone else suspect Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome, and 'a common cause of Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (WKS) is the heavy, regular consumption of alcohol over an extended period'
@@benroberts6318 I don't think it's Wernicke-Korsakoff because Richard has been sober for a long time now. The alcoholic Korsakoff syndrome is caused by vitamin B1 deficiency, resulting from malnutrition - alcoholics often get a big share of their caloric intake from the alcohol they consume and often don't eat much else. I don't feel like that applies to Richard.
can you share your theories in detail sir
the whiteboard said encephalitis but i dont think thats it. Meredith also said something abt how she is the one who can help which makes me think it's not only something neurological
We already lost Alex !!! We can NOT lose Richard too !! It’s too much 🥺🥺🥺
“Cells need apology”
I love this man. He reminds me so much of the doctors who embody their work. It's like if he or she's down,we all are down. Much respect and Love to everyone on the Frontline fighting for the cure of so many diseases.
Webber is my favorite character ever man, felt like dad the whole time.
I knew something bad was about to happen when it started showing everyone in the show watching Richard
I didn't cry yesterday just seeing this clip but in it's entirety, just impossible to get through...this storyline is so prevalent and Webber, that look when Maggie was reminding him of who she was, I just broke down. Grey's is the most important television show on right now in my book, it masquerades as a soap/drama, but damn it this show saves lives and reminds us that our connections/memories are all we really have at the end of the day. This hit me way too personally, stay safe everyone because life is too fleeting and thank you Grey's Anatomy!!
Can they stop having bad things happen to richard? He reminds me of my dad(minus being an alcoholic and doctor). Both brilliant black men, both caring and nurturing, they way they speak. The list goes on. I honestly am attached to richard because hes similar to my dad.
I never took so long to watch such a small clip. I had to pause so much, I couldn't bare to watch him in that state
Could be the final nail to the coffin for greys anatomy .
Don't they already have it set that this or the next is the last season anyway? So it literally might supposed to be yeah
@@usedtobemyself i guess so ... i dont see any reason to keep watching
My heart broke. The sheer pain felt by all who cared for him was brilliantly shown. This storyline struck a core. He had me when he said his wife helped him.
Ohhhhhhhhh I had to take a minute after it was over I was shook to my core. BUT when she wasn't there I went white as a ghost and my heart broke
So upset they had to cancel production for the rest of the season, only leaving us with 21 episodes instead of 25. Damn this virus, taking away so many great things from us.
Whoa!!! Are you for real????
I didn't know that. 😐
@@casey8001 They are considering airing the remaining 4 episodes before the premiere of season 17. That's a plus. Can you imagine 29 episodes. Then again, Idk when the world will be normal Again sooooo
Frederick Bradley Thanks for keeping me notified. 👍 But wouldn't it just be 25 episodes with the added 4? No hate, just asking.
@@casey8001 Yeah. This season was supposed to have 25 episodes but it's only going to have 21 now.
This hurt me so much
This was SUCH a good storyline , big applause to the writers on this one
I screamed at my tv when I saw this scene...
And also just a thought, what if Richard has the same condition Izzie did but like it’s more advanced or something 🤔
In a sad moment of "nooooo"😲😫 i nearly spilled my 1st beloved coffee of the day. And ....the day is ruined, poor Richard😥
this made me cry, it's so hard to see the people you love in states like this. I know he's a fictional character, but I still feel for him
When Jackson gasped and said "Nooooo." when the picture of the heart with Catherine's name popped up
I’ve never really cried until now! This really felt so real 😭
Pompeo just nailing Mer’s “no, not richard... not him...” face
I think its a tumor because remember when he showed that one girl that pretended to be a doctor in one episode that his hand was starting to shake and his mood was completly off as well with everything
I have seen shaking hands in Alzheimer's patients but who knows. Idk where Maggie got a stroke from? So weird
One of the most saddest scenes I’ve ever watched on Grey’s anatomy 💔
It’s funny because the day this aired, I had said to myself that I wanted to cry, just in general, because I’ve been emotionally numb considering the climate and being a healthcare provider, I’ve really had to keep it together. But when I watch this scene, I was not ready. I still haven’t recovered.
this scene hit me SO HARD
When he asked Maggie "Who are you?" I just started crying 😭 DON'T TAKE RICHARD!
If something bad happens to Richard I’m going to be broken. He’s one of the best people ever 🥺♥️
His not drunk TF 😰
Richard please live you have to much to lose please fight I’m rooting for you
I am in shock. I didn't expect someone like Webber to start regressing and deteriorate throughout this season
all of the episodes with him acting like this were so beautifully written and most importantly we’re out of this world represented with all the emotions and gosh just everything it felt so real
He is such a talented actor! Just brilliant
Okay this season has been garbage but out of respect for this scene and Richard I will watch it till the end
This is always so hard to watch given Weber’s character, he’s the best
I feel so sorry for him, but everybody else around him too. Especially when he thought he talked to his wife thinking she forgave him, it’s so sad. I really want him to have another brain tumor, because that can hopefully be fixed, just like the last time (season 2 I think where Derek took out a brain tumor behind his eye). I really don’t want him gone but with the shaking and now the halucinations…
I mean it’s so sad because catherine immediately assumes he’s drunk, that’s how much she despises him. It’s just so sad.
this was one of the best episodes yet
This storyline disturbed me..we know Richard has gotten older but he is 65..they are bringing back drs & nurses much older 2 work at VA hospitals for this pandemic. I know it is tv but why do he have 2 have his mind affected. With this & Deluca tripping im done with Grey's 4 a minute...i need my tv 2 entertain me not scare me
Exactly how I'm feeling . I need a quick break . I will enjoy this break . My heart is breaking . Even them touching on the phone call to teddy .
My eyes are stinging so bad after watching this. I can't imagine the show without him. I can't imagine the show with him losing his beautiful mind, and I just cant imagine him falling to pieces and not being able to be put together. Whats even worse is that he thought Catherine was there, and he wrote her name in a heart and projected it onto the screen. Its almost like she broke him. PLEASE have it be curable. This cant be how he goes. He is the backbone of this show along with Meredith and Dr. Bailey. We have lost so many important characters.
Heartbreaking...please get well...beloved character!!!
This was so damn sad, I screamed. 😭 Poor Richard, it’s too soon after losing Alex!!! NOOoo!
The music is Gregory Alan Isakov. It’s called Where you Gonna Go? From his Grammy nominated album Evening Machines. ❤️ ❤️
Lori Ens THANKS! That’s what I’m here for and you were the only one after A LOT of comments talking about the music… 😅
Pedro Leão the entire album is so calming. Perfect for this time we are going through ❤️
Omg, WE JUST LOST ALEX!!! YOU CANNOT TAKE AWAY RICHARD! THEN THE ONLY OGS THERE ARE MEREDITH AND BAILEY-
I don’t care how many times I watch the scene and I know that I know what happens after it but every time I see it i cry....
This is to anybody who's wondering what happened to Richard
He had cobolt poisoning from the hip replacement he had years back. Deluca figured that out and he was alright in the last episode of season 16
Richard your not feeling well
Richard :move your embarrassing me
😂 😂
I cant get over this episode im still shaking
this scene broke my heart 😭😭
This was so well done and heartbreaking.
When he said, "what's happening?" 😭😭
This show is so awesome!!! OMG right when they can turn you away they do this.
Poor Doctor Webber. Ugh. The last few episodes have been sad. I know it is just a show. But I hope his character will be okay again. This show is getting good again.
Cried like a baby
Richard can't die,he's just the best plus i can't cry anymoreee
This whole episode was WEIRD as heck, but I almost cried at this ending. 😭
Heartbreaking. Glad Richard turned out okay. God bless ♥️
Maybe his brain tumour thingie is coming back like from the first 2 seasons😭😭😭😭😭
One thing that I never realized...Richard is a pretty great artist.
Look at that Circle!
This hit home. It reminds me of when I was 12 and my dad woke my sister and I up with my mom. He didn’t recognize us because he was expecting to find a 6 and a 4 year old. Luckily my mom worked in the ER and immediately recognized the signs as a stroke. We are lucky that he recovered because not everyone does.
the scene literally tore me to pieces it's so heartbreaking 🥺🥺
This is absolutely heartbreaking 😱😭😭😭😭
Can someone explain what the “Catherine was never there”
I haven’t watched the last 4 episode
he was having a stroke and he hallucinated that catherine was in the room with him helping him write his presentation
i’m just catching up with grey’s but this episode shocked me so much, the heart with catherine in the center broke me
