I would say it’s others that make me aware of my age - I get treated like an oldie 😬 . I’m 80, don’t look it, am slim, good haircut, still fashion conscious - and most of all with a young mind set.
Very true Margaret as always! Whenever I feel I'm getting old, I think of you and of all the sisters in the world who are courageous, brave, inspiring women. And it stops me right in my tracks ! I am super privileged to be alive at 74 and in good health in a country still at peace ! Love to you all !!
Hi sister. I am 82 years and traveled to east Africa in May-June last year and went back this past May by myself and LOVED it. Hope to go again this year. Bear in mind that that is a LONG 30 plus hour trip each way. I never doubted I could not do it. Just took my good Lord with me. Thank you for your affirmation
Boy did I need this video !! I have been feeling so "down" lately with some health issues that limit the joy I used to feel in life. This video has really "slapped me in the face" and made me look at my attitude in a eye opening way. I am SO grateful to you Margaret for posting this. I am 70 and often feel 80 and I think some of that is my own negative and depressed attitude. I would love to read the study that you mention in this video. What perfect timing this was for me. I realize that many of your videos come at times when i need them MOST! Thank you Margaret and I hope that you have a wonderful holiday . I really appreciate your channel and all the wisdom you bring to us !!
I agree too. My sister (81) and I (73) hope to finish our 505 km walk in spring. Already walked 317 km of it every 2 weeks we do 2 days. We walk through nature, it's magnifiek ❤
Agree 100% and I am so happy I'm 70! How lucky am I?? In good health and always trying to improve my eating & exercise (never as successful as I would like but I keep trying). Wake up every day with a long list of things I want to do and I have a 16 month old puppy that keeps me very busy! It's a blessed life. Love listening to you. Stay well!
Good Morning! I Just Found Your Channel. Had To Subscribe As I Am 68, And Just Starting A Dating Relationship. It Has Been A Few Years Since I Thought Anyone Was Interesting. Lots Of Good Information On This Channel 🌺👍🏽
Thank you Margaret for your encouragement and advice. Since I have been listening to you I have started travelling again and have stopped calling myself too old or too tired. I've realised that there's still a lot of life out there to live ❤❤
Don’t put limitations on yourself at any age. Bc I see too many people my age (50’s) especially women trying to wait for that perfect timing or someone to come along and join them in their adventures but I just got into solo traveling more and further distances and its great. You always give such useful and wise and applicable life advice! Stereotypes are often harmful anyways.
Happy Thankful Thursday Blessings Margaret! Thank you for this encouraging talk today! Yes staying Positive! God Bless You and the Sixty and me Community ❤️
I remind myself every day that I'm who I feel I am, not other's opinions or social stereotypes. I just started an on line college course that hopefully will lead to employment doing something I love doing. On my fridge I have a little card: "appear as you are, be as you appear" and I'm a dynamic wise woman grateful for every day.
Really positive ideas, it strikes me that two people could be in very similar situations but if one has that positive outlook you describe then they are living while the other one isn't and it's mostly about your attitude 💖xx
This video was a wake up call for me. I’ve Always been a positive person, but lately I have that I’m old thing. My friends would laugh because when they would say old, I’d say don’t use that O word…we’re mature. I’m also seventy five and I really need to get that pep back in my step. People’s remarks don’t help, I need to just blow that off. You give me more hope…thank you Margaret ❤️
Thank you for this excellent session, Margaret. I agree with you so much, and thank you for the introduction to the age code book, really appreciate this and you 🎉. Worth getting older to see all the young family members grow, develop and for us to spend time together as our family grows. Bliss! You're inspiring to listen to and be around, at my age of 67, best wishes xxx
When I was 17 I was on holiday in Wales. There was an old lady guest who has stayed in my mind ever since. That's for 56 years! She didn't do anything amazing but she listened with her whole being. Her bright eyed attention showed a vitality of spirit that even to a teenager left a life long Impression!
Just listening to what you have to say, lifted me up on this cold snowy day. I try to be more of a positive person . Sometimes it’s not so easy. Love you and everything you do for all of us. ❤
Thank you for another inspirational video Margaret. I so agree with your comments on staying positive in difficult situations. I had my second hip replacement last year and was again determined to recover from the surgery as quickly as positive. I am a very determined 74 year old. I was discharged after 48hrs, the doctors and nurses all said they were impressed by my positive upbeat attitude. My daughter in law (a senior nurse on CCU unit) took me home and made me a cup of tea and left. I managed completely alone from that moment. I have been accepted as a Volunteer on a very busy ward at my local hospital. I smiled at your comment about travel. I have just come back from two back to back week tours of Prague and Belgium. I am going (again) to Northern India for 17 days in March 2024 and have already booked a tour of Southern India in March 2025. I am not a wealthy woman by any standard but live positively, happily and frugally to fund my travelling. My friends tell me I am “very brave”, and how they couldn’t do it but I ask “what is the alternative? sitting at home alone in my small flat worrying about life??” I know my three sons would be concerned if I was wasting my time never going out, they all say how proud they are of me for coping well after my husband died. I am in fact still heartbroken at his loss, although I do not tell them so. I realise the future for me is what time is left of my life and I intend to make the most of every day ahead, no good in looking back too often. This time now is my life and it is up to me to make sure I make the most of it.
Thank you Margaret. Spot on! I've been unwell recently and have a VERY depressed friend, have been getting very negative myself inside, though I try to present myself as positive and thankful. But as you say, you really have to BELIEVE that you're still valuable and capable, as well as lovable, and you will have that inner strength and glow that brings health. Then you have the power to take up these new challenges. I retired recently and it's been hard, but now I'm getting my new life together, which is becoming even more rewarding. Thank you for being so wise and encouraging ❤️
Jane Fonda comes to mind of positive aging... even when challenged with cancer, stayed very positive. She doesn't act like a kid, but a mature woman with vibrancy. Quite a leader...🤩 I liked hearing what you had to say today... I've noticed myself getting weaker. You've told us it's a natural part of aging. Comforting thought! Really. To know it is normal. I'm 68. Pretty clear to me that if I don't do anything about it but sit around it will continue... looking into silver sneakers that has many opportunities available for me to pursue strength, balance, flexibility, etc at all levels of difficulty. If my viewpoint is to see Jane Fonda as my inspiration or choose my grandmother, makes a huge difference in how physically capable I'll be in the future. Also befriending like minded people, willing to take walks with me, etc, not just sit in restaurants for hours and eat. And complain about getting fat. They are the friends to talk about recipes with! Can't have too many friends. But nice to have motivation in all areas of life 😁
I'm all for older people like myself getting out in the general community, and for participating in support groups to compare notes and be encouraging. I do look younger than my age or health status. Problem with me is others pressuring me to do more than I can handle. I do what I can as so many of us do. We have to be aware of our safety limits after all.
Margaret,I liked your idea of going to different towns and look in their charity shops and other shops Thankyouand have a cup of tea ,have been going the last few weeks with my husband and we really enjoyed ourselves (
I know that your attitude towards age is what keeps you young or makes you old. When my sister turned 60 she decided she was old. And she was old. She had physical problems and dementia and died at the age I am now, 78. I’ve never thought of myself as old and I’m doing so much better than she did.
My hair starts to grey alot..im going to put some colour in it. It feels fresh and youthful. Fasting makes me thrive energetically. It push back age. Great video that lift us up!
I'm almost 74 and am still healthy and strong, have never broken any bones or "fallen.". Oh, oh, knock on wood, am I jinxing myself by saying that? Not perfect of course, and I had two major operations in my 60s. But I come from a very healthy family, all told, and have always been able to heal quickly. I still identify as healthy, and thst helps me not identify with all the negative stereotypes.
Very well explained. I have found this to be quite true in my own circumstances. I try to focus on and celebrate all of the “young” things I can still do!
Agreed! But be ready to run into some resistance from others. Shrug it off, but it will happen. And that's okay. Whenever we change in any way, some others feel threatened. I think that makes no sense, but it happens. 😀
I think there is a definite shift between the sixties and seventies. Some of them are not that great but I love the contentment and peace that the 70's bring. I definitely live in the present these days.
I agree. Our mindset makes the difference. Focusing on what we can do or thinking about how we can do things in a different way, if necessary, opens up possibility and that, I think, helps keep more joy and happiness in life. Thanks for sharing your insights and adventures.
I absolutely agree about your beliefs dictate who you are, how you feel, and the condition of your physical body. I put that book on my wish list on Amazon. Merry holidays with a blessed new year 2024, Margaret.
You're marvelous Margaret I cant tell you how much you help me with your positivity and lovely sweet self! You are a gorgeous lady inside & out. I look forward to all your videos. Thank you for inspiring me to be more positive and get myself more active its so easy to get into that "I can't " rut when WE CAN limiting beliefs must go this 2023 on ward and forward to all wonderful things and experiences in 2024!❤❤❤ Bless you Margaret you're AWESOME! 😊
Thank you Margaret! I do limit myself ... I will now begin to let go of these beliefs I've been leaning on ... and saying to others when I don't want to do this or that ... just Try It will be my motto! Love seeing you on your trips! What a Gal xoxo
First, I have to say you look radiant! Secondly, I agree with everything you say. I am 64 and I have no intention of letting age stop me from doing anything. Unfortunately, arthritis slows a few things down, but it’s not going to stop me. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you Margaret for your inspiring videos and your kind heart. I honestly think that positive mindset is the most effective tool that everyone posesses yet we neglet to use it so very often. It is so important at any age.
I was born 79 yrs ago but I really don't know how old I am. I have young thoughts, some older body parts, fun ideas, great-grandchildren I have fun with. So I don't think in years at all. I enjoy the company of a wide age range of friends who keep me young.
I,ve decided not to ski anymore but I am happy to snow-walk with poles, so that means that I can still go to the mountains with my family and enjoy the winter holidays.
Thank you so much Maria . I often look at cruises that leave from Marseilles and maybe I’ll take you up on your offer for one day. Thank you so much for your kind words.
Perfect take on this Lady Mag's. I've read and researched so much on this topic of which you here speak...100 percent with you. Same age as you yet, get this, I have an Aunt pressing 110 yrs. ( may mentor) and becoming a centenarian is more than common today. Love that you are sharing this: Attitude is one's latitude from Canada 🇨🇦
I AM 79 I DO A LOT OF STUF THAT YOUNG PEOPLE WON'T DO, I DO NO'T ACCEPT NOT MOVING WHEN WEAK OR TIRED, I LEARN NEW THINGS EVERYDAY, & ACCEPT WHAT I CAN'T CHANGE.
Your makeup is beautiful. I am 77 don’t look 77 but I am over weight and that really bothers me in my facing people from my past. After Covid and I seldom get out I never put makeup on up on anymore and I use to wear makeup in my former work life. Thank you for your time🤶
LOVE this talk, and you are SO RIGHT about how we are sometimes portrayed! And -- discovered this great forum on Facebook years ago in my 60s and I've just turned 70. Saw a video where you talked about being in your 70s. I believe this stage has differences than the 60s. Any thoughts on starting a NEW 70 and over" community?
I turned eighty this year and I think I’m learning from this forum of 60, 70,80 + women. We can all bring something positive to each other’s. No need to segregate each age group. After all we are all mature and vibrant.
@@gigi2819 I have learned much as well.... but - respectfully agree to disagree as far as different outlooks and lifestyles with each decade. To each his/her own, yes? Maybe this is a sign for me to take some steps of my own. 🙂
Think (..and feel) that the most useful attitude of mind is to stay curious and interested in our world. I call it keeping my growing toddler brain active! xxx
I’m just not a negative Nelly. I feel like I have too many things to do to leave this world yet. I’m most always positive although sure I have limitations in body but I can adapt and change to make things better for myself. I’m happy and young in spirit so I hope you can be too. Thank you Margaret!🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
I do have chronic physical disabilities, but now am going to CHANGE, huh at my age of WISDOM, and begin to complain less! It is frustrating but, it SHOULD NOT define who I believe I am and what I do contribute. Thank you for this insightful video. I am awaiting word about several biopsies that were taken recently. I find myself changing my self narrative when I begin to think of consequences of the news I fear most and quickly remind myself that the news could easily be that the doctor was thorough and NOTHING had C evidence. Prayers always help! Prayers of all I am grateful for work for me! The attitude of gratitude!
Enjoyed seeing your video today. When I can’t remember something I say “I have a bit of Teflon brain at times….non stick.” We all laugh and move on. Thank you the bright spots you make in my life. 💕 Elaine Craig
I sure believe our self talk makes a significant difference in our lives! Your gallbladder story is inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I could face that someday and your sharing and how you dealt with it in a positive way makes that possibility less scary. Sometimes I see people focus on a problem. Negatively and repeatedly. I have days with knee problems. Random. Could be either one... buckles with pain. I take care to compensate, do what I can... but not risk further injury. Call myself lurch. Laugh. Do alignment exercises the best I can. Take Tylenol. I sure don't stake a claim to it, but look at it as an annoyance that will pass... and it does. I've learned to limit my actions those days... Stress can bring on all kinds of difficulties. I do have to accept I'm not as young as I used to be. Last spring I was up in a tree cutting branches with my little battery operated chain saw. Paid for that! But learned... I wasn't well hydrated...had been doing yard work all day, pushing muscles...the reaching out repeatedly wasn't smart as women don't have the upper body strength that men do... instead of quitting, kept telling myself to finish so I wouldn't have to finish the next day... lots of not thinking while doing! Come to think of it, if someone my age came and asked me "got any suggestions what I could do to mess up my back and have lots of pain?" I'd tell them to do what I did! Lol. so accepting my physical limitations and just paying someone to do SOME things is a thing I consider when choosing activities.
I keep a positive outlook on life and my situations. I walk everywhere, do alot on my own. I have seizures on a somewhat regular basis. I am accepting of the situation, I know that God is with me and cares for me.
I have never felt old. The only birthday that ever bothered me was when I turned 20...because I wasn't a teenager anymore! So silly, LOL. On my last birthday, my granddaughter (she is 6) guessed my age as 36! (I am 68). When I asked her why she picked that number, she replied, " Because I know you are REALLY old Nana!"
Sixty is the new Forty!! Sixty is young nowadays. Why sll the gloom! L. Maybe after sge 80 one might to cut back, bit I know people running businesses st 80. But 60....vome on!
Thank you Margaret! ♥️♥️♥️ The man I’m with told me, after I said, oh the ladies at the antique shop said I look very good…he said well you only look good with makeup! Nothing I do is acceptable and I do know I look nice at 63 and I’m on disability for years, but I do look nice. Lol I maintain my weight and eat well. I know he’s so horrible to me with such emotional abuse that I must leave him. He’s breaking my possessions in the basement when he’s angry and I’ve filed police reports and unfortunately they listen to his charismatic nonsense that I’m crazy or some lie he invents. If you don’t carry bruises on your face, you are out of luck. I have verbal videos of him screaming in a rage of abusive behavior and the only thing the officer said, well you should be careful and realize it’s not legal to video tape him! Omg Well the previous officer said, video him it’s the only proof you have. Don’t think it’s not a man’s world in many respects, because I have found it unfortunately to be the case often. I’m not saying always, women need to join together and not only protect oneself, but other women that are isolated and afraid! After 20 yrs I’m not afraid of him, I’ve finally grown out of this horrendous belief that I’m not enough in the world. We are more than enough and don’t look back only forward. I have no intentions of letting him get away with this and I will prevail! I have my sad moment as another person, although something deep inside tells me to never give up. Happy Holidays Ladies.♥️♥️♥️
I will be 64 in a mo. I have cleaned houses for 35 yrs. Its hard work! Lately i just dont want to work that hard. But i drag myself there and get going. I know the lifting, climbing stairs, bending and reaching are GOOD for me. Its takes conditioning to do my job and keep up the pace. I' m healthy as of now but i smoke and have S,A,D. Fighting off depression is my real battle. Evthing is actually good but the mess creeps in. Then i feel defeated. And yes, young people treat me as old.
Come on, such positive thinking is delusional - I can't at all relate to your positive thinking - it's sounds more like denying the reality of old age -that old age come with a cost. Acceptance of what is brings us further than pretending that age doesn't matter or doesn't exist.
I can’t wait to the chat and I couldn’t figure out how to get onto the chat, but that’s all right. Thanks for your positive encouraging talk. 🎶🌻 I guess I’m struggling a bit. I do have a lot to be grateful for such as I have great health even though I’m over 60 and I exercise usually regularly. I have several strong hobbies, such as learning languages, researching genealogy, travel and many more. 🛳✈🚆 The main thing I’m struggling with is, I have no family left, parents gone long ago only sibling died young and his 30s and I moved after my job ended and found a good place to live but having trouble making friends I have one main friend, but would like to socialize a little more. I am not extremely outgoing but I do like to have coffee or tea and conversation sometimes and I want to have a few more friends and not depend on just one friend having time for me Any positive comments and encouragement are welcome. Thanks for having this good motivating group and Margaret seems to be very organized to do these videos and I admire that she can have her home items together pared down enough to be in a beautiful small studio 🏘 I am sure when you have less things than you have more time to travel, instead of spend the money and clean and organize your things.
I know what you mean about finding good friends. It is hard. You can even have young friends who share a common interest. Take a class to meet new people.
I would say it’s others that make me aware of my age - I get treated like an oldie 😬 . I’m 80, don’t look it, am slim, good haircut, still fashion conscious - and most of all with a young mind set.
Agree with your sentiments, a real lady ❤l love it! and why not look and feel good.Have a wonderful day.🙏

I agree, the stereotypes need to be”updated/upgraded!”
Absolutely 💯

Life changing video. I believe everything you said is true. I forget how old I am.
Thank you Margaret for your stream. I have booked a month stay to Tenerife in June to July 31st as a single traveler!!! I’m 68 and single.
My role model was actress Betty White, she was always positive and had a happy outlook on life. Lived to be almost 100 years.

I absolutely agree with you Margaret! 🌟✨️💖✨️🌟
Very well explained. I have found this to be quite true in my own circumstances. I try to focus on and celebrate all of the “young” things I can still do!
You have a beautiful glow Margaret and I LOVED this video! Thanks so very much!
You are so welcome!
Everything you say I believe is true! Ageism exists outside of us and we need to ignore the stereotypes and create new ones
MARGARET THE MARVELOUS ! That's what I'm going to start calling you! You lift me up !!!!
You are so sweet!!
I agree. Our mindset makes the difference. Focusing on what we can do or thinking about how we can do things in a different way, if necessary, opens up possibility and that, I think, helps keep more joy and happiness in life. Thanks for sharing your insights and adventures.

I agree it’s all about our mindset. Thanks
Thank you so much Sonia for these kind words. It means a lot to me. 🌺
Thank you Margaret! I do limit myself ... I will now begin to let go of these beliefs I've been leaning on ... and saying to others when I don't want to do this or that ... just Try It will be my motto! Love seeing you on your trips! What a Gal xoxo

Thank you! It is so true about what we think. If we think we can’t do it and don’t try, then we’ll never know what we could of done.
Thank you Margaret for this inspirational video! 🥰
So true!
An excellent video Margaret thank you !
I was born 79 yrs ago but I really don't know how old I am. I have young thoughts, some older body parts, fun ideas, great-grandchildren I have fun with. So I don't think in years at all. I enjoy the company of a wide age range of friends who keep me young.
Love that!
I,ve decided not to ski anymore but I am happy to snow-walk with poles, so that means that I can still go to the mountains with my family and enjoy the winter holidays.
So right! Mindset...is so important!
Thank you liebe Margret 💐
If you want/come ti Marseilles...let me know
.
Thank you so much Maria . I often look at cruises that leave from Marseilles and maybe I’ll take you up on your offer for one day. Thank you so much for your kind words.
You have still my mail Adresse? I wrote you once.
Thanks for your comment. Can I please remind you about FULL CAPS :-)
Your makeup is beautiful. I am 77 don’t look 77 but I am over weight and that really bothers me in my facing people from my past. After Covid and I seldom get out I never put makeup on up on anymore and I use to wear makeup in my former work life. Thank you for your time🤶
Thanks for sharing!!
We’ll see :-)
I turned eighty this year and I think I’m learning from this forum of 60, 70,80 + women.
Thank you, this is just what I needed to hear !!!❤
I see myself positively . I had my daughter late in life at 43 and that had kept me younger. Even though I have eye problems now.
I totally agree with you, you look charming Margaret 😊
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you Margret! You look so sweet and georgeous in pink chère Madame! Much love from Marseilles

Have ordered the book just come into money spending it on travel xx
🌺🙏✨✨
I wonder how many of us are afraid to travel by ourselves.
Good to remove the word never from your vocabulary.
Thank you Margaret! ♥️♥️♥️
The man I’m with told me, after I said, oh the ladies at the antique shop said I look very good…he said well you only look good with makeup!
What a shitty remark 😮.
Dump him 😮.
I'm 69 and my 2 youngest grandchildren remind me at times re my wrinkles and looking old ..doesn't help 😅
I guess I’m struggling a bit. I do have a lot to be grateful for such as I have great health even though I’m over 60 and I exercise usually regularly. I have several strong hobbies, such as learning languages, researching genealogy, travel and many more. 🛳✈🚆
The main thing I’m struggling with is, I have no family left, parents gone long ago only sibling died young and his 30s and I moved after my job ended and found a good place to live but having trouble making friends I have one main friend, but would like to socialize a little more.
Also, in my previous place, I enjoyed walking and hiking with my friends and I miss that
I know what you mean about finding good friends. It is hard. You can even have young friends who share a common interest. Take a class to meet new people.
❤❤❤
