The envoys (and possibly Players Voice) apparently agree to NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) and they are legally enforceable. There was a video by Boilon where he invited Tauna.
So here's the thing, as a pass buyer I actually agreed, to an extent, that krakens needed a bit more "value" to their spending vs my pass buying. I know, odd for a lower tier spender to say that, right? But I felt like compared to people who spent hundreds a month on this game, I felt very little friction when battling them. So when they came out and made the Stat changes for future characters, I was like "ahah. There it is. Higher yellow stars are going to be a lot stronger now." It made perfect sense, and I had no issues with it. Logically, if you pay 300+ a month your characters should be beasts. I was super satisfied with that change. ... and then they kept going until we've hit this new, bizarre anti player removal of typical releases. It feels like we were headed to the promised land with player satisfaction, and then they opened up the floor and there was a spike pit under it. Ares will stay where he is, pass buying is done, no more spending at all. One star review left and I'm literally just logging in now to do my chores. If they become player friendly again, I'll start considering passes again, but until I see a good 2 months of positive rebounding I'm done giving them cash.
There is nothing that the Player’s Voice “signed” with scopely that prevents them from taking actions as you’ve described. That is not the issue. The issue as you identified has to do with the community and it’s commitment but fundamentally, the F2P community is the one most effected by these issues and the Krakens are not (who mostly do not participate in the Player’s Voice at all). So this is a case of F2P players asking or needing the spenders to participate and they won’t because they don’t see this issue the same way as others. For the boycott to be effective you need the spenders to participate. That is the fundamental issue why a boycott won’t work. Nothing to do with PVM not being able to push for one. The best example I can give is asking a community of customers that only go to a restaurant for a free glass of water to stop going is not going to have an impact. Having the customers that actually go to that restaurant and buy nice dinners to stop going is the only way to affect that business. People keep spreading wrong information that the PVM or council is made up of nothing of krakens is completely wrong. I also agree with most people that these changes are trash.

True that they are not competing against ftp players anyways but in the leaderboards and events they are, having these characters just make the events more meaningful but i totally agree with you
There needs to be a degree of skill involved in this game. If you're a spender and still have problems with ftp, then it's a skill issue. You can't outspend bad skill.
I stopped spending in this game months ago ngl, whole games worse than gambling and it’s based around a gacha system that’s rigged against you, mobilegamer honestly said it best the whales have had their fun let everyone else get a chance

A total boycott of the game isn't going to work because people are too addicted to the game, but a spending boycott might be possible.
The value for the money is the best rewards and power cores everyday. When every event has a leaderboard the buyers have that huge advantage already.

That's why I quit the game only yesterday, the idea of having to get my raid team up and running after 40-60 days just did not appeal to me.

I’m a pass spender. I often fight whales and krakens in CC. It’s been materially harder with CB and the annihilators.
There needs to be a degree of skill involved in this game. If you're a spender and still have problems with ftp, then it's a skill issue. You can't outspend bad skill.

Boycotts aren't effective bc players will fold thinking they will be one of the only ones doing it, and the only result will be they missed out.
