I rember the first time I heard this song , my 2month old daughters ashes were in my arms for her first night home with me. Her father was off chasing dragons and other partners. while I tired to learn to breath with out her. I breathed in this song and cried from the soul for how much I lost how much I missed and how much was still going to change. I didn’t ever think I’d go. This was at the peak of our relationship. Almost literally halfway through I got news he past away. I love you and miss you everyday, dad. My hero and idol. Hope I at least make you proud sometimes. Sorry everyone else. I just needed a place to jot down my thoughts.

Years later they foubd out he had left, he had reached a breaking point and needed to get away. He started a new life, leaving his old one behind. I relate to this in getting out of a mentally emotionally abusive relationship ship. Having your whole world evolve around this person that you hated but loved so much. Finding the love where it wasn’t supposed to be was the person in the mirror. Being able to look at that reflection and loving the person looking back. Being ok with who you are. Understand where you have been and how far you have come. Being ok with missing that person that abused and broke you. Being strong enough to love who you are and remembering what you want for yourself.

I was on the plane when I listened to this for the first time. I had the window seat, we were about an hour into the flight. I was excited to get to my destination but my journey was only starting. Everyone was settled down and falling asleep.
The sun was setting outside my window. We were flying so high and there was an amazing view of the sky with the delightfully fluffy clouds below me turning a rosy pink. There was reds and yellows fading into blue across the world. This song came on in my playlist, and the moment was so perfect. I teared up on the plane, had to pause the song to compose myself.

I rember the first time I heard this song , my 2month old daughters ashes were in my arms for her first night home with me. Her father was off chasing dragons and other partners. while I tired to learn to breath with out her. I breathed in this song and cried from the soul for how much I lost how much I missed and how much was still going to change. I understand the deep levels of depression and never giving up the idea of happiness or love.

“If you talk enough sense you’ll lose your mind.” - He was too good to my mom. She was crazy and mean. But “in sickness and health” he stayed. I could tell he was getting more and more tired.
“I moved farther than I thought I could, but I missed you more than I thought I would.” - I eventually went on a two year trip for my church and my dad was so proud. I didn’t ever think I’d go. This was at the peak of our relationship. Almost literally halfway through I got news he past away.
I love you and miss you everyday, dad. My hero and idol. Hope I at least make you proud sometimes.

I wish you and your family the best. Its a tough situation to be in. My dads father went missing one day as well. They had thought the worst. Years later they foubd out he had left, he had reached a breaking point and needed to get away. He started a new life, leaving his old one behind. While they were thankful he was alive, it hurt them he had left. Never give up hope until you have reason to. Hopefully you'll be reunited soon.

I relate to this in getting out of a mentally emotionally abusive relationship ship. Having your whole world evolve around this person that you hated but loved so much. Finding the love where it wasn’t supposed to be was the person in the mirror. Being able to look at that reflection and loving the person looking back. Being ok with who you are. Understand where you have been and how far you have come. Being ok with missing that person that abused and broke you. Being strong enough to love who you are and remembering what you want for yourself.
