I've been having problems with the lilypad for ages! you said it in 3 words - a reeboot button!!! you've single-handedly been more helpful than the arduino guides and google!
You're right, and that LED is definitely brighter than it is supposed to be. The conductive thread has nontrivial resistance, so depending on how far away from the controller board it is, you might not have to use a resistor. Most LEDs are 3V.
Wow you did a great job. I wanted to see an instructional before purchasing the lilypad. You really explained it well and look forward to making projects with it!! thank you!
I have ordered my LilyPad from China (of course) for feeding my sentimental soul. When I was younger it was impossible to get one, now it is comes from China for 2.5 EUR including shipment :) Of course I am really excited to make something bigger than blinky, but thanks for the video. Nice to see you on this time-capsule video. ;)
You don't need a mac or a magazine to do this project, just whatever computer you have (Arduino runs on Windows, OS X, and Linux) and the electronics themselves.
Hi! I bought all the things to do my proyect but I want to know what kind of cable are you using? Can I use a Normal USB cable or I need a Mini USB? please, tell me. Thanks. Juan.
Hey! Can u tell me the voltage of ur battery? i'm building a project with Lilypad Arduino and i can't find out some 3v or 5v battery my project. Thank u!
Hi I was wondering which type of lilypad programmer did you use for the lilypad 328 main board? I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE WHEN THAT TINY LED STARTED BLINKING :)
Great video and tutorial! I'm from Indonesia, can you suggest me how can I get all the materials needed such as the battery holder and the usb converter from lilypad? Thank You.
does anyone know where i can get just that battery power supply component? i have a different one but i like the arduino one better, it will fit on my device a lot easier than the one im using
I found this very helpful, thank you! I'm planning on doing a big project, and I was wondering if there was any way to get the lights to turn on and off with a button? And are there any other options for power besides the AA battery?
@kity Llila I cant leave a link here but Adafruit sells it and Aliexpress sells it. At Aliexpress search for "5 meter Lilipad supporting conductive thread"

Agreed. So helpful
Not everybody's using Mac, but we all have HD cameras to bring you excellent quality video!
This is just an introduction for folks who've never used it before; you have to start somewhere. Next time I'll cover sensors and more advanced stuff.
I'm glad! Thanks for the positive comment.

This is great, I'd bet if Alan Turing were alive today he'd love this
Sewing circuits. Now that is a new one. Cool idea.
Absolutely fantastic video. Clear and concise. Thanks for sharing.
I love the fact that the Arduino IDE was still functional in 2009 on a very old iBook G4.
CONGRATS! I'm one day late but yesterday was the 8 year anniversary of this video. Keep it up!
i want kipkay, i dont want this girl, kipkays voice is amazingly soothing *drool
Yes, they have Make: at Barnes and Nobel. Craft: is actually going out of print and will only be available for viewing online for now on.
tks a lot for your video, could you suggest me an distance sensor that can i use with arduino lilypad? tks in advance
Its very cool. Thanks. I like it.
Keep rocking man!
Thank you. It was a good starting tutorial :)
i want one now!!! i'm having imaginative thoughts :D
Great, thank you very much for this great video. I will try to follow your steps with my daughter and saw a cool arduino LED bag.
You don't need a mac or a magazine to do this project, just whatever computer you have (Arduino runs on Windows, OS X, and Linux) and the electronics themselves.
This would be a great way to do that!
very easy to understand
Nice proyect congratulation for your job . i hope you continue done it :D
Thanks for the recommendation, Hussein Chalayan's work is impressive. I don't condone the reverse vitriol though. Have a good one!
Yep, pretty much!
Advanced upload procedure skills of 21. century
That's cool. Conductive thread.
Cool vid =)
like I said above, this is just to get you started! =]
If I need to wash the garment in the washing machine will the lilypad get damaged?
Great video.
Why do you not solder the thread down after you hook things up?
Nice work. Thank you.
Great video.
Why do you not solder the thread down to the arduinos pads after you hook things up?
Yeah, that can be a problem, but there're are plenty of people like me who are interested in both!
Well done!
what programmer should I use?
What about reducing the voltage across the LED to match the voltage needed to make the LED conduct?..
does everybody have mac's and hd cam's at makemagazine?
Excelente video , me ayudo de mucho
Adorei seu vídeo!!!! Parabéns!!!
Entendi apenas pelo que consegui ver, pois não falo inglês!!!
could you possibly use this to put blinking LEDs on a tie? or would there be a better way?
Could you do the same setup using less thread i watched and you thread a lot towards the lily pad.
Hi, thank a lot for sharing, great tutorial
Very good
perfecto !!!
does the thread act as a wire?
Hi! I bought all the things to do my proyect but I want to know what kind of cable are you using? Can I use a Normal USB cable or I need a Mini USB? please, tell me. Thanks. Juan.
where can i get the battery holder that u used..if googling what should I call that
well done thank you simple and to the point you answered some of the ?s I had about the code writing thanks
@91thpe this thread is a lot more flexible than normal wire. Normal wire will break a lot sooner than this stuff will.
MakeMagazine, can I use the Lilypad to patch-up holes in my jeans ? also, can I use the pcb board as a wheel for my robot ? ...thanks.
i like your desk where'd you get it?
you know at first , i didnt know about this girl
but shes really cool now! lol
yeah it's the embroiderer in me, I couldn't help it! =]
Nice !
Hey! Can u tell me the voltage of ur battery? i'm building a project with Lilypad Arduino and i can't find out some 3v or 5v battery my project. Thank u!
where did you buy the boards?
do i have to use conductive fabrics for this to work.?
Is there a real MakeMagazine that you can buy?
Hi I was wondering which type of lilypad programmer did you use for the lilypad 328 main board?
I JUST COULDNT BELIEVE WHEN THAT TINY LED STARTED BLINKING :)
lol im loving the youtube thing
you have 245 emails lol
i really like that, there are so many things you could do with it
How can o connect the lillypad to pc? I mean,is there USB input on lillypad
Great video and tutorial! I'm from Indonesia, can you suggest me how can I get all the materials needed such as the battery holder and the usb converter from lilypad? Thank You.
does anyone know where i can get just that battery power supply component? i have a different one but i like the arduino one better, it will fit on my device a lot easier than the one im using
what does this thing do?
u should be given a noble prize......ha ha ha
Hi,
Thank you for sharing.
Very nice video.
i'm trying to make a project using lilypad.
Hope you'll make others videos.
cool just for a blinking lde id put more
Girls who know electronics are HOT, and she's cute.
Very creative little project too! :)
Please help me how can I buy conductive thread???
Thanks :)
nice, but how do you wash it ??? or this arduino is waterproof???
Gabriel Fienco Lilypad arduino is waterproof.
y use this if u can use a regular ardoino
I don't have a mac/ that thing or a make magazine...
😍😍😍😍
Arduino free tecnology made in Italy !!
ikea!
I found this very helpful, thank you! I'm planning on doing a big project, and I was wondering if there was any way to get the lights to turn on and off with a button? And are there any other options for power besides the AA battery?
how can lilypad makes a 5v if you use AA battery, it generate 1,5 v
lool
That's why there's a power supply
You can convert 1,5V to 5V but loosing the current. for example 1.5V and 150mA will be converted to 5V 90mA.
@fennecfanatic The arduino outputs are current limited.
thank you.
cool
I ment keep rocking makemagazine :>
Y E S ! ! ! ! !
@kity Llila I cant leave a link here but Adafruit sells it and Aliexpress sells it. At Aliexpress search for "5 meter Lilipad supporting conductive thread"
kip kay! that thing looks like a birth control container
Oook now you have an Led sowed to a round piece of cloth.
Now what......
Out off al the things you can program, you make it blink xD
still it could be cool with other things
Whats the point of this thing ?
your right. ha
Kipkay *
soldering would be more easy
Semejante bardo para q prenda una luz
huge ring
seems to hard..
conductive thread... what the xD
and let us see a photo of yourself? Please, let us judge you.
what the f
Cuz they're not poor?
