    We might be celebrating the winner now but in 3000 years the new rulers of this planet shall erect statues dedicated to Ace: Savior of the Cockroaches.

      It's like he's on his redemption tour... but he never did anything to need redeeming. Is Ace okay. He's so nice and way too empathetic for his well being, but it's like something is wrong and he wants to make a last positive mark.

    The star twist was fine, it just highlighted the strange disconnect between the edit and dynamics of the house. Still would’ve preferred standing firm on the six star limit even with a less than desirable cast.

  • @SabrinaRina

    Honestly, people saying "the stars were a part of the whole game, people gave them to friends the whole game", no, people won something and either got a star or got to reallocate stars. People eliminated didn't get to say "well, I want my star to now go to...". And for Cara, Steve who worked so hard against so many obstacles all season, to come behind Laurel because enough eliminated people liked her more to give her a lot of bypass power... it's still an asterixis on the win. What we don't usually support is keeping friends you know you can beat in the final with you, but this took it to a new level that as you eliminate them it's like Highlander up in here.

    Yeah I was impressed how Cara was second with only 1 star and Steve could have won too with just 2 stars. Laurel would have lost if everything was even. Good point.

      Laurel won by thirty minutes. Derek confirmed it.
      MTV is always giving Cara more credit than she deserves. Cara and Steve were no where near that finish line when Laurel passed through.

    I didn’t like it either so you’re not alone guys. Wish they never added those extra stars at the end then Laurel and Derrick wouldn’t even be in the final. Also then there would be a fair 1st, 2nd 3rd winner and not a 4th place winner still there getting nothing. They didn’t need 8 people in the final.

    Thank you guys for all the energy it makes a difference. I am a long time Challenge fan and like you it holds a special place in my heart as sappy as that sounds and like you I get angry as some of the stupid stuff both cast and production does. But I keep hoping it will get better.

    I really hate advantages and purges in finals and the way they did them in this one like congrats Laurel but it feels underwhelming basically you work so hard as the underdog just to get to the finals and have it come down to who has the most friends I'm with Luke I like it to be a race I think free agents and any of the rivals seasons finals are good even invasion of the champs was a good final let there be a timer

  • @U2BearCat
    @U2BearCat 2 месяца назад +4

    Nice that you gave Cara credit for catching up in the final after that miserable scooter ride. Like you said if it had been a longer 5 mile run Cara would have caught up. Over all the final would have been more satisfying had there been no advantages and all the finalists had run head to head.

    • @johnjungkook2721

      That was a misleading edit. MTV producers trying to make Cara look better like always.
      Cara was no-where near the finishing line when Laurel won. Derek said that Laurel won by 30 minutes.

      @@johnjungkook2721 Multiple other cast have said it was only a 10 min lead. First hearing the 30 min and that is from Laurel, a reliable source, in her interview with Bananas. Derek wasn't at the final Day Two.

    I'm so bummed that Laurel won. They edited this season to give us a villain group (Laurel included in that) and the underdog to root for (Cara), knowing that Laurel wins the whole thing? It just felt like rewarding a person who had been pretty shitty to her 'friend' the entire time.

    I’m happy with Laurel winning even though Nicole kinda killed that for me but I think giving the stars away made sense I mean that’s what they did the whole season giving and taking stars but the Final was like fear factor I miss free agent style

    • @SabrinaRina
      @SabrinaRina 2 месяца назад

      Yeah, but winner got to make that move, not the one losing the star. Kinda backwards to let them just pick a winner, especially when Veronica basically gives her a 4th star without knowing what they do, could have given her all the time lead and then it stops feeling like that person has to compete because enough people prefer them.

    Laurel always gets a villain edit since she was a rookie. She yelled one time out of frustration. CM always gets a victim edit, if they edited her the same way, we would think she's a horrible person. I remember how much hate Amanda got for wishing death on CM's horse(Final Reckoning) but CM actually wished death on her first, but that gets swept under the rug.

      100%
      The producers even tried to make this final look closer, to make it "more impressive" that Cara came second but she was no-where near the finish line. But her stans are eating it up. Meanwhile, if it was another player they'd accuse MTV of favoritism.

    • @U2BearCat
      @U2BearCat 2 месяца назад +1

      Laurel "She yelled one time out of frustration". Wow, well it looked more like a 39 yr old crazy person. You forgot to mention the whisper campaign against Cara, Laurel started the minute they arrived at the airport.

    • @SabrinaRina
      @SabrinaRina 2 месяца назад

      @@U2BearCat Agreed. I like them both in competition, prefer them to not be against each other. But they constantly isolated Cara, and Laurel might always get a mean edit, but highlighting her bad treatment of others does happen. And when they villain edited Cara, it was mostly "look at me and my man, we don't like these fake people". Maybe it was a weak edit, but if they wanted her the villain, it seemed they could have shown worse if she did worse. Competition aside, that's cruel to just ask everyone to be against one person and isolate them socially and her ex screaming at Cara to not even talk casually to other people. That's not a game strategy, that's bullying and can really harm a person's emotional well being. Plus, do it enough, they could be a bitter person through conditioning.

    • @U2BearCat
      @U2BearCat 2 месяца назад

      @@SabrinaRina I totally agree. In addition, some of the cast mentioned they didn't like hanging out with Cara because she would mope around the house. OK, you have Laurel doing a whisper campaign to not to work with Cara from Day One. Laurel even told Ryan he should not talk to Cara. You have turned the house against Cara, you have isolated Cara, and you then complain she mopes around the house. So Cara was supposed to just go away. Hide in a corner? Not say anything? Talk about doomed if you do and doomed if you don't. On top of that Cara stated in an interview that both Laurel and Nicole would come to her to complain about the other person. It got so bad half the house was hating Laurel for treating Nicole badly, and half the house hating Nicole for treating Laurel badly and it all turned on Cara for being the bad guy in the relationship. Make it make sense.

  • @sbriggs1017

    I disagree about the star thing. That was a part of the game from the get go. There were two finalists that never actually earned their star, they received one from their friends. Sorry it fit more than the carnival games.

  • @23Phillycheese
    @23Phillycheese 2 месяца назад +1

    I actually dont believe the stars had a big effect at all besides Steves mistake. Laurel still did the pipe puzzle so all she skipped that Cara didnt was doing the same puzzle 3 more times. I feel like that would take 30 seconds each if you already know how to do it

    • @ThatOneDude6009
      @ThatOneDude6009 2 месяца назад

      Word through the grapevine is that she beat Cara by 10 minutes. When you add the fact she told Bananas she was taking her time with each checkpoint given the advantages she had, and your point in taking less and less time redoing each puzzle, it kind of does draw the opinion the stars didn’t matter. She also pulled a Jordan too. Won a final with a leg injury (torn meniscus)
