At least the client was practicing on his own device. A hobbyist with BASIC, TH soldering skills and tools that jumps into microsoldering on a working iPad is a daredevil.
Really??? I think we saw it differently but let's save the debate for next time😂😂I like the fact that the customer conceded defeat. Now he knows it's not easy. It takes time to learn
@@tobiasmangoma9566 yeah I agree at least he knew he messed it up and didn't make it worse. I don't mind when the customer is honest about it, it's when they try and lie and treat the technician like they're stupid it annoys me
I'm curious as to why you didn't use the customer's connector?? Was it damaged and not serviceable? Anyway, good job!! Every time I watch your videos, I learn something. BTW, do you repair amateur radio equipment?? :) Keep up the good instructional vids.
That connector cost Penny's. Its safer to use new connector becoz customer tried soldering. It doesn't mean customer damaged his own Connector but for a better quality assurance it is better to use new part.
Lemme guess....the owner didn't have a desoldering wire (wick)..... thanks Northridge you listened and didn't go harsh on him....it makes the video if you were the owner that screwed things up
I guess that's how I'll learn. I knew I took a huge risk trying to repair it myself after my failed attempt at changing the screen (Got some broken pins). I don't have that much experience at soldering, I've done small jobs like soldering new sticks to a 360 controller but nothing this small, as changing that power connector. I'm just surprised how easily he removed all the solder from the mobo. With my soldering iron it took longer than that and my wix hardly got anything at all. I guess I'll also have to get new tools. At least I'm glad I didn't ruin the board. And also glad that my friend won't kill me for his iPad.
Hello , why you said that iPad is charging normally at 0.95 ampere , while iPad 12W charger is designed to provide 2.4A ? Or iPad 10W charger is designed to provide 2A ?! So why iPad should charge at 0.95A ?? Also in previous video of iPad Pro 12.9 model you said that normally that should show 0.48A and not 0.5A . There was short and tester showed 0.5A and that was bigger than it need ?! My iPad Pro 1701 was charging at 0.5A and that took to long to charge while testing it was taking 0.750A from battery and we thing there is a short , is that right ? Thanks beforehand
Hi, Can you tell me what microscope that is please? Is it the Sony Imx290? Iv seen there are Sony imx290 Eakins imx290 Autofocus imx290 Are they the same? Thank you
Is it possible to repair a broken flex cable (tore at a L shaped end)? specifically when the device is a bit old and without any replacement parts (for example a professional Cannon camera). Given as free to me.
I’ve seen jumper wires soldered to flex cables, but there are many challenging steps. Some PCB manufacturers now offer flex cable services. If you know how you may be able to reproduce the original and have replacement made.
Idol , Sir I'm from Philippines and I'm your solid supporter. I have a problem with my pocket wifi. I can't deliver my pocket wifi in your shop because i have no money I'm poor. The problem is pocket wifi is good have a signal and have a power but I can't find the ssid of the pocket wifi on my androind device nor PC. I already Reset it, and i already openline it but nothing happen still no ssid found on my android phone. I hope you can notice me.
if you want anyone to be able to help you, you need to throw in some specs of your gadget, like brand, when or how it got broke etc. to answer your question based on it being a pocket wifi, requires sorcery not knowledge.
It’s wasn’t as bad as the customer thought, good job.

Those solder joints were perfect, I would've suspected an issue with tristar, the owner did a great job 🤣😁

They always make it look so easy. Even the simplest fixes. I'm still trying to fix an old Iphone 6 Plus with touch disease.

Hmm..did I see copper wires between the contacts on the old connector at 4:51? Are those suposed to be there?
Well spotted!

Not imposible but very hard, need to join the two ends of the broken fpc with the fine wire.
