Thanks all, I’ll hopefully be doing a lot more of this next year, for RUclips videos and for me. 2021 has been difficult, awesome but difficult, far too much time in cities, best part of 2 months in Tokyo, then Dubai, London and all over the UK. Definitely need to put more wilderness in my life next year. Appreciate everyone who liked, shared, subscribed, left feedback, enjoyed or found these videos useful in any way. Enjoy reading every comment, so please say hello. Thanks again, see you in 2022. Chris
Really enjoying this Part 1 / Part 2 thing Chris. Had me laughing in Part 2 a few times. Part 1 is always beautifully edited. Part 2 insightful and entertaining. Really different from the millions of similar UK channels doing similar stuff. Have a great Christmas mate and looking forward to new videos next year. Would like to see you out there some time 👍
Thanks Chris for transporting me away to solitude and peace. I really like your relaxed style and it makes a change not having to listen and watch someone bang on about all the kit they've got with them. What you did say you had with you was enough. Keep enjoying your beers and making real quality videos. Take care, have a good festive break. Daylight is getting longer from now! Simon, Somerset.
Stuck in with Covid, these videos are a sanctuary. Not been able to get to Wales in over a year now so this is a window into the mountains. Keep them coming and I may see you up there sometime. Superb videos.
Love the content Chris, especially when you’re in Snowdonia. Also love the super crisp audio, which I think definitely adds a little something extra to your films.
Great video Chris 👏🏻👏🏻 Loved all the scenery 💚 I used to have an 800mm lens for military aircraft photography, but ended up getting something else. That was effort carrying that big 200 - 600mm mate along with your other gear too lol. Fair play 👍🏻 Looked like you had a decent little camp there though bud, awesome 👌🏻 Take it easy dude.... Chris ✌🏼
We both(Mary's working from home at present) really enjoy these double videos, one for the artistry and quality, and then the other for the personality and insight... It helps to see what you go through to create such quality, it always sparks debate between us about how we can improve, and inspires us to push ourselves. Cheers dude, appreciate you sharing this with us. Atb James
Cheers James, appreciate that. You two and me too, I’m always looking to improve. Really want to give my channel some attention next year and hopefully gain some traction. It’s tough, but slowly improving and hoping to get much better at it. 👍
@@chrishomer you're doing fantastic dude, not sure what the next level up from 'crushing it' is but you'll get there without a doubt. Did you figure out if you'll keep or sell the lens? James
Thanks man. Yeah I’ll keep it for a bit at least. Watched a guy on YT making some stunning landscape shots with it so it has potential, just gotta get a bit more used to it and put up with the weight. 🤣
@@chrishomer best get back in the gym then 💪 I've put on a bunch of what I refer to as 'winter plumage' which will need to be dealt with in the new year, so I can't really speak lol
Thanks for another great video. Always thought provoking and I learn a lot from watching them and the effort you go to, to get lots of shots. The behind the scenes and thoughts is always a highlight. Thank you for the insight 😊
Great to watch another from you. Really good footage and you’ve sold Devils kitchen which is my next port of call. If only it was the older Kit Kat with the foil 🤣 then snap! Keep it up as thoroughly enjoy you enthusiasm 👍🏻
I don’t usually comment but I must complement the cinematography. It’s captures how it feels very well. I like the mountains and hiking so keep up the good work. Lots of time spent framing and editing I imagine
Thanks Mike, appreciated. I try hard to capture the feel, it was more difficult than usual on this one due to the new Sony 200-600mm lens, too easy to feel disconnected, but nice to squeeze a few in I think. Thanks for commenting
I know you're famous for the King Size Pot Noodles, but your morning tinkle J cuts are becoming like your very own Wilhelm Scream. I'd say keep the lens if you can possibly afford it Chris, personally. Who knows how your tastes in photography (or indeed, enjoying the outdoors) may change in future years? Anyway, it may have seemed dull conditions and the lens a mither but it led to some great atmospheric shots that I really enjoyed. Cheers. Rich.
Its always interesting seeing what gear others use not just for being nosey but sometimes it helps tweak our own set ups, you starting some ASMR with that slurping lol
Nice vid. The long lense shots looked good.. although it looks like you didn't get much opportunity to use it in the conditions/weather. Would love to see you having another shot at it! I'm sure it would capture some interesting perspectives! You're right about the buffalo jacket.. too warm to for walking in, but a great jacket to bang once your're up the hill. I wore mine last week and just remembered how much I love it.
Also for someone who was a mute for the most part in previous vids, you're a total natural in front of the camera, can tell you have a cracking sense of humour aswell. Thanks for the content dude 🙏
Thanks Andy, appreciate that. It’s a killer taking a full Bergen up there, still recovering now, genuinely. Sore back, calves and quads. Good fun though

Beautiful video. Especially like thr editing. Big specialty lenses like that are sometimes hard to justify unless you have a real need. I bought my Canon 300mm f/2.8 when I was shooting professional sports. I stopped shooting once COVID hit so really don't need the lens anymore but I still love it. Probably won't ever part with it even now that I switched to Sony for video. Awesome outing Chris! That big ‘ol lens is cool but not really practical for the way you shoot your stuff. Do you figure you’ll get some serious amounts of snow this year like last year? Thanks for taking us along brother! Doug
Good evening Chris, Really enjoy watching your videos mate as someone who has an urge to explore myself. In a couple of days I'm heading up to do a walk up snowdon, what are the current conditions like from what you have seen and were there lots of people walking up?
Thanks. No idea mate, I’m in South Wales. Me though, I’d avoid Snowdon, especially in the holidays. I’m not a fan at the best of times and there are plenty of better summits in Snowdonia. Would recommend anything on the Glyderau, Carneddau or Rhinogydd.
Hi mate hope your well brilliant films! Just a quick question mate. How does the MSR elixir 2 hold up? Looks like it’s doing fine, I have one but a bit sceptical getting out in it in my first wild camp in the lakes or Snowdonia. Cheers mate 👍🏼
Thanks. Pure luxury by my standards, very impressed, but I’m quite used to tarp and bivi and tents that cost a tenner. This is awesome. Quite big and heavy, but mines the Elixir 3. Really good in this wind on this occasion. No concerns and very quiet
