you are doing an amazing service to this family, that probably would not survived, you are also educating Ian , which is a marvellous thing, keep going, you are a lovely man ..
We have badgers in our garden, they turned up beginning of pandemic, they are still coming even though it is cold! Peanuts and dog food,we ajso have lots os foxes and even hedgehods last spring2024!Ours only come at night,so only seen on the cameras, apart from my husband saw one that came to the back door!
I get the whole thing you say. We have had them visit for about 15 years now. We don't let people come and watch for exactly the same reasons, although I haven't come across anybody who even hinted they want to do harm to them and very few of my neighbours have the slightest notion that they are about. None of mine are like your Biscuit but I have had muddy paw prints on my garden trousers, from one I call "one ear" you can guess why. There are currently 3 that take fòod from my hand, and it's costing a fortune in Morrisons chunky mixed nuts mixed with their big juicy raisins and sultanas , on top of all the other foods I treat them with but I don't begrudge a penny of it. One year we had four youngsters and I had them standing in a row at my terrace wall, all taking strips of dog fòod sausage from my hand in turn, just wish I could have filmed it. Keep up the good work ATB C
@@ianstephens465 it's also difficult to film when your two hands are full of food.😉😉 I only film by the light from the kitchen window, so filming is not easy. I don't want to risk frightening them away with decent outdoor lighting as even now they will sometimes take food into the shadows, where they clearly feel safer, to eat it.
If only more people could appreciate and take so much pleasure from the wildlife around us.
Great talk. Badgers are wonderful animals, that are often treated so terribly. Glad you are there for them.
Badges so lovely
Bless you Ian for loving & protecting these beautiful Badgers.
