  • Your Voice in Policy: How Musicians Can Influence Arts Funding and Support! Colorado is rightly recognized as a national leader in arts participation and a place where creatives can grow. These opportunities do not exist in a vacuum - they are the result of ongoing dialogue and advocacy that connects the needs of the creative community with policymakers at every level of government. Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) is a statewide leader in policy development and advocacy. In this fast-moving workshop, CBCA Executive Director Christin Crampton Day and Deputy Director Meredith Badler provide an overview of key advocacy initiatives and discuss how UMS artists and attendees can inform, amplify, and plug into the ongoing advocacy work. In the second half of the workshop, audience members ask questions, share their experiences with advocacy and reflect on how their ongoing career experiences relate to the emerging statewide CBCA policy agenda.
    PANELISTS:
Michael Bracy (Moderator): Senior Advisor, Youth on Record
    Christin Crampton-Day: Executive Director, CBCA
    Meredith Badler: Deputy Director, CBCA
    Rep. Leslie Herod
