I've been using SCAL for many years and have loads of tutorials on it. I've been designing and sharing my files (for free I may add) and you would be surprised how easy it is to use if you take the time to learn it. You can even use it to create files for Brother machines among (as you said) loads of others. What's more, if you have a laser cutter, you can create files for that; or a 3D printer, if you want to make extruded shapes. Very few people need the Pro version unless they are making industrial size vinyl designs. I also have a Siser cutter and have been using it with the Juliet, it is seamless. SCAL uses all the fonts from your computer. It is a good idea to check that your calibration is done properly. Once done, make sure to write the numbers down and keep it safe. SCAL imports and exports in many formats as well as vectorising images and has many more ways to manipulate designs than can be shown in one video. Glad you have discovered some of the benefits!
Thanks for the input. I know I have only just scratched the surface of SCAL in the first week I've used it. I'm excited to keep digging in to see all it has to offer. AND I love that it works with SO many cutting machines. I think it will really help some of the LOKLiK users that are frustrated with the vendor's current version (a big update is expected from them in June). It's why I wanted to introduce the software to them as fast as I could. I do have a couple laser cutters and will be using SCAL to create designs that I can export out and use in those machines. I have nothing but good things to say about SCAL. Thanks for chiming in. 🙂
I am considering upgrading my SCAL5 to 6 after watching your video for the convenience of it linking directly with my Loklik, but am not 100% sure yet as it's an extra expense when I could still design in SCAL5 and then export it to the Loklik. Can you tell me if in Print and Cut using SCAL6 you can save your sticker designs so you can reprint them again at another date because in the Loklik software It won't save the offset cut with the png and you have to re-do the whole process of re-importing the image (Unless I'm missing something?). Also do you think the LOKLIK software update coming in June will offer as much as SCAL6 or still be limited? Thanks your opinion would be appreciated
I just did a quick test with adding an image and applying an offset in Sure Cuts A Lot. I closed that file 3 times and it opened with the offset intact each time. Unfortunately, LOKLiK hasn't yet shared what upgrades will be in the next big update. While we were at CES in January, they said v2.0 would be out in June.
I don't see the ones I have in their list of supported machines. We have xTool and WeCreat. But the list of ones they do support is very long and many I've never heard of so maybe...
I live all your videos but this one is amazing! I bought a Loklik crafter a few months ago but I'm not crazy about their Idea Studio. Is the Sure Cuts a Lot software a one time cost or is it a subscription? Thank you!
@@pambrown6636 - Thank you ☺️ My understanding is it’s a one time charge. It’s easy to use and I love the rhinestone scatter effect so much we are showing it on our live stream today at 4pm. 🙂
@@pambrown6636 SCAL is a one off purchase, updates are free, you only pay a top up fee if you ever need to update to a new version. New versions have historically come out every few years, to keep up with new features and operating systems, but you can carry on with whatever version you have until it is obsolete.
Can you use this to import your own designs as it won't let me do it on the loklik software keeps saying to big, but l don't know how big it should be 🙄🤔
Hi.. I have tried the software from a friend here in my place. He secretly using it 😅😅so I turned over my machine to him and when I am with him I am wondering why the machine cuts twice even in matte self adhesive and it is almost cut my mat.. It resolved my inaccurate offset but the problem is it cuts 2 pass even the multi cut has been turned off. Unlike loklik studio you can only see it cut 1 pass so you will be able to pick the sticker out of the printable vinyl sticker and keeps the whole protective sheet intact.
Hmmmm - I'm not sure. I didn't experience any issue in the countless sheets I tested. Which version of the software are you using? I was on v6.049. The vendor is very responsive to questions. Here's their support page - www.craftedge.com/support/.
If you don't see LOKLiK under the menu options Under Cutter --> My Cutter --> Manage Cutters, reach out to Sure Cuts A Lot support. They are very responsive. You can find support under the Help menu.
Under the menu option "Cutter" select Manage My Cutters and then look under Company/Brand. I just checked and it's there for me. If you aren't seeing it, email SCAL help. They are very responsive.
Was thinking of buying but the reviews for purchasing software for a Android Tablet are not good, everyone wants there money back. Only saw about five (one star) reviews. Was hoping for better... by the way, I have a new LokLik machine.

LOVE Sure Cuts a Lot! Gamechanger! Use it with my Siser.
I can’t wait to try it out with my Siser!
Interesting analogy between printing and cutting vinyl. Standardizing would be really nice. Great work!

Sure. For LOKLiK using Sure Cuts A Lot?
Where can I get the cutting mats in the u.s
Amazon. Any 12” mat will work. I’ve used my Cricut mat, Teckwrap and Nicapa mats with no issue.
Can you use this to import your own designs as it won't let me do it on the loklik software keeps saying to big, but l don't know how big it should be 🙄🤔
Yes you can.

It's not. Here's the pricing www.craftedge.com/purchase/craftedge/purchase_scal.php.
Did you have to do anything special to set Loklik as your cutter? The only cutter with a L is Liyu.
