The intro to For Whom The Bell Tolls is played an octave higher, though smart use of an octaver!
Got here ahead of me haha \m/ despite that, guy gets some killer tones most of which sounded dead on...love his content and music diversity
It's played on the 19th fret G string
doesnt he use a whah pedal as well? @@oSileyCT-7212
I've seen countless lists like this, and I just have to ask: has no one never heard the song "Badge" by Cream? At 15, I didn't even know what a bass guitar was, until I heard that song and fell in love with that sound. I knew, from then on, I would play the bass. I still do and I say, Badge, by Cream, is the best.
YESSSSS I do agree!
First bassline I learned
Yeah, and Blew by Nirvana. That thick, dark drop D bass intro at the start. Perfection.
Badge is a very nice song
It’s not very good. That’s probably why it’s not on the list. On account of it not being very good, I mean.
Joy Division love will tear us apart . Peter Hook is an amazing bass player and is the lead in most songs ...
Man 10/10 for tone emulation, it sounded like the originals
Except Wrathchild, but it's ok, Steve is one and only!
That squier with the flats sounds particularly amazing. Nice vid
Pixies Gouge Away .. i love kim deals bass playing specialty in that song
Also Canonball by Josephine Wiggs (Breeders)
The PJ and Squier Classic Vibe sound amazing
Great classic riffs
I think London dungeon and a few other misfits songs have incredible bass intros
so many of my favs!! beautifully played, tones recreated faithfully...Nice
Longview by Green Day should definetly on there too somewhere
Needs to be there fr.
Wiser words like yours have never been spoken! 😮
Its all about the tones for me. Brilliant
OUTSTANDING selection!
Nice songs you picked, some great ideas to play
Great job on all of them!
Love your shorts and love this!
Great behs lines one and all, expertly executed!
This is more of a deep track, but I love the bass intro of the Yes song, "Sound Chaser."
Glad to see Iron Fist over the usual Ace Of Spades, also good inclusion of Wrathchild and Got The Time
I just how u include every genre of music 👏👏👏
I love all your videos
Rock on
Can you do something on Peter Hook? Haven't seen much videos on him. Underrated imo
Really? I just searched “Peter Hook Bass” and there are hundreds, if not thousands of videos about him.
I don’t disagree with you on his style, it’s interesting at the very least, but there’s a lot of content about it out there.
Very cool and I likes the Corvette!!!!
A super super underrated intro I never hear in videos like these is Con Clavi Con Dio by Ghost. The gross tone is an oddity in intros like that
Pinnacle to the pit is another great example by ghost
wait a second no hysteria ? i mean it’s not a intro on the record but it is clearly when they play it live !
nice video, loved it like always 😊
You need some Infectious Grooves in there... Punk It Up, Lock it in the Pocket...
Love to see The Clash on your lists! Paul Simonon is very underrated imo
In my opinion, the rhythm section of The Clash was probably the best part of the band. Solid as a rock.
Especially considering he couldn't even tune the thing himself! Love that guy, one of my favorites ever. Stylish as f*k too!
Hell yeah! I feel that the Clash doesnt get as much cover as they should honestly, so happy he pays then respect and reminds people "hey, remember these guys? You know, one of the foundations of punk?"
Do enter Shikari Bassist
I agree. For a guy who learned to play by listening to Ramones albums; he was throwing out some pretty solid bass lines by the time of Combat Rock.
Long view
Jerry was a race car driver
Schism
You make my dreams
You really got me
7 nation army
Nice tracklist 👍
Great vid and nice to see Got The Time included but unless I’m mistaken, the original song is by Joe Jackson and not Anthrax
Graham Maby was terrific on all the early Joe Jackson stuff
I second that
Certainly was.
Hey . ...I enjoy your immensely. I'm not even a Bass player, a flute - percussion/player
These are all so catchy 🤩
I don’t even play bass but when I manage to get my hands on one I always play How Many More Times, such a great riff.
Clash -London calling
Wow!! all intros Very good!!! Dk is for few nowadays...
BLASPHEMY BELL TOLLS IS PLAYED AT THE 19th FRET ON THE G STRING
Excellent job as always .....jj burnel is a favorite.
Happy to See "Three Button Hand Me Down" on here! Ronnie Laine was a monster.
Day of the baphomets by mars Volta would be right at home on this list. Would love to see a behs cover of that intro solo sometime
Thank you so much for doing a dead Kennedys song!
Surprised hysteria by Muse isn't on here
im surprised too, looks like this guy doesn't have bass knowledge
There are many more than 20 great bass intros.
playing for whom the bell tolls down an octave is crazy
Excellent, Deadringer particularly good.
PART 2 MEGADETH PEACE SELLS
Great T-Shirt 😄
Dead Ringer is good, but Peaches is much better, nice to see the Faces get in this list, superb track
I've always loved longview by green day
Dead Ringer , top work Danny
Holy SHIT! That is a solid list. As soon as I read the title I thought Wrathchild then caught myself because NO ONE would put THAT Maiden tune on a list…then, BAM!
Then we get:
NIB
and
How Many More Times (another one you’ll RARELY see on lists).
Well done!
how come ive never heard lounge act in these lists??
Because it’s criminally underrated and people look down on nirvana for some stupid reason
@@supersand6191 ive seen people look down on kurt as a guitarist but never dave on drums or krist on bass. they were incredibly at what they did
@@KiyoAraashi it’s mostly aic fans that shit on nirvana for being “not technical enough”
@@supersand6191 i mean, their loss
but i dont see Lounge Act.. anywhere, not even covers of people who like the vabd
@@KiyoAraashi yeah that bassline is god tier
Great selection Danny! If I had to choose one I'd pick Wrathchild!
He forgot about Primus and Les Claypool
I was sure I would see No More Heroes on this list. You went with the Dead Ringer.. Even better! This is such an underrated song!
For me absolutely best is Running Wild - Over The Rainbow. Truly amazing.
Three Button Hand Me Down!?! - My man! Happy to find someone under 65 that is aware of that song!
I Gotta Get Outta This Place
Mystery Achievement by Pete Farndon (original bassist in Pretenders)
Nice!
I never hear Karnivool's All I Know in videos like this, super nice C string harmonics on bass
Behs
Thanks!
👌👌
1) I like that it's not a TOP 20, just "here's 20 cool songs" and 2) you covered metal, funk and punk so I'm in my happy place
MAD skills, me bruh!
Nice BEHS playing!
Penny Lane has a great brief bass intro. Four notes, no waiting.....
VERY rare to see someone put anything by Tool above Schism but the one you chose is so tight I can half agree but still know it could be right
I was biting my lips the whole time of this video I just noticed. I guess that's what a sick bass riff does.
Was waiting for wrathchild. Got it right :)
Hard to tell which one to bump, but a case can certainly be made for Ozzy Osbourne - No more tears
Got The Time was written by Joe Jackson and covered by Anthrax. Also, 🎶Cause I'm a WRATH CHILD!!!🎶
please can we get a rundown of every bass you own
Nice list! I would add Crash Course In Brain Surgery by Budgie too.
A lot of people want Longview on this list, and I agree. Would also like to see Pump It Up by Elvis Costello.
“A Town Called Malice” by the Jam ❤
One missed opportunity in this video was that Rickenbacker bass: I would’ve liked to see it on Come Together, as the original was played on one. I’m growing on the Rickenbacker tone: too bad they’re so expensive. Other than that, great video, and I fully agree with most of these picks. Half of these I never knew what they were called but I knew the bass line existed.
You are the Best ✋✋✋✋✋✋🤙🤙🤙🤙
The Seinfield bass riff is actually played on a synthesizer. That being said, I love the way you say bass……
I knew Wrathchild was going to be in there. Got the Time is in there too. One that I play regularly is: In the Meantime by Spacehog. The tempo of the published studio version is painfully slow though.
Each to their own but I’d like to have seen “Into the Valley” by The Skids
I'm surprised you haven't included "whisper" By Morphine!
Bro, Motörhead should have made the list twice (Iron Fist & Ace of Spades), still though, great list and a great channel as well - Cheers!
How about Norman Watt-Roy's awesome bass line on "Hit me with your Rhythm Stick" - Ian Dury and the Blockheads? One of my all time faves.
What strings are those with the red sleeves on that Jazz bass? 0:16
You need to do a Motown bass greatest.
Man I’d love a Chicago 5 string
Yessir for the bell tolls
I also like lacrosse. And Danny's bass playing.
@@motaman8074*behs
You missed Nick Beggs’ incredible intro to Too Shy
How is Living On A Prayer and I want you back at the top of the list?!
Bro i have the same the same thats on his amp, my great grandpa gave it to me
'What Do You Want From Me' by Monaco (Peter Hook).
P.C.C by Green River is GOATED
Bro.. No Primus Song ?!
I was thinking the same thing
Caught in a mosh is my personal favorite. Don’t know why lol
I love that he is playing through an Aguilar amp. I don't know anything about the quality of these amplifiers. It just happens to be my last name so I think it's really cool.
Love it! I admit if I found an amp of my name it would heavily influence my choice. Sidebar - jimi hendrix felt that way. His middle name is of course Marshall. This is why he loved Jim Marshall amps, and his photographer was... Wait for it..
Jim Marshall. James Marshall hendrix surrounded himself with James Marshall's
Cool ;)
You also forgot to add one of you countrymen who’s a ridiculous bassist…..Nick Beggs and the intro to Kajagoogoo’s “Too Shy”. 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
As much as I love RHCP, the Stevie Wonder intro to Higher Ground is pretty darn funky... and the bass line from Superstition is even better. I am beginning to think you have a very stunted list of inspirations.
It would have been cool to see the clash play guns of brixton live. Apparently when they would do that song paul and joe would switch because paul had difficulty singing and playing bass. If you watch any live videos you see Joe playing that riff. You didnt really nail the sound but it was close enough. Mad props for your skills tho thanks for playing behs
Behs!
Can Danny Sapko play behs? Yes!
Clicked to see if Wrathchild was on the list and BAM! Great list, but it would have been tragically incomplete. Kudos for DK, too.
Mate, you were so close with TM Stevens I shoulda loved ya
That not-actually-a-Stingray bass sounds *great*. Is it only available in the UK? Also, points for "Iron Fist" and "Holiday in Cambodia" -- but where's "Pump It Up"?
