Those aren't burn scars, they're his cancer. Deadpool's problem is that the body sees cancer cells as part of your body because they are. So when his healing factor got activated, his immune system just replicated the cancer and replaced the healthy cells he DID have with basically tumors. Which explains his personality. Wade was always mouthy and silly and weird and a LITTLE crazy. But his cancer was already in his brain when his HF activated, now his brain is made of super-cancer, likely making him even more crazier than before.
This is what I dropped into the comments looking for.
What about in the second movie when he and Russell are locked up, and Wade says to the kid,
“I don’t know about you kid, but me? I’ve got tumors to grow.”
Or something along those lines.
@@originalv5107 yeah, so imagine , (given his baseline personality), what the pressure on his brain from those tumors is doing to him. Aside from the constant pain, he has random synapses firing all the time from the pressure, and he wasn't playing with a full deck ( not completely) before the cancer. And I think that's exactly what gives him the ability to see not just the 4th wall, but the people on the other side. He's not self aware that he fictional, he's just nuts....maybe. Out of all the so called "crazy" people in our own reality that think like that, how many might actually be right, and not crazy at all? Turtles all the way down...

@@originalv5107 my take on this is basically that the healing factor keeps the tumors that are specifically in his vital organs from developing to a fatal degree.
Ergo, he needs them to "grow" [develop would perhaps be more accurate term, but Wade was never especially scholarly-minded] in order for the cancer to kill him
"He reminds me of Slade from DC." Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, is a parody of Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson. Both are deadly mercenaries, but... Deadpool became the more popular of the two.
In the comics, his torture that made him Deadpool was *far* worse than what the movie showed.
Bob is a reference to "Bob, Agent of Hydra" from the Deadpool comics, but... at the time of filming, Hydra was a major component of Marvel Studios movies, so 20th Century Fox couldn't use that, but the fans of the comic knew what they meant.
Not to mention the final battle _unofficially_ took place on one of the helicarriers that was brought down in Captain America Winter Soldier.

My favorite part of the whole montage scene where he's working his way through all the henchmen asking them "Where is Francis?" is that none of them know that Francis is the guy's actual name so they don't even know who he's talking about.

I think my favorite part of the movie is the murder montage where hes asking where Francis is. Because no one knew Ajax's actual name. So to all the people he murdered they literally didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.

Blowing up his torture tube wasn't so much of a risk as much as trying to end it all. I'm fairly certain Wade didn't know yet he would survive and death was preferable to continued torture and possible enslavement.

To be fair...Francis couldn't feel pain, improved reflexes, had some strength and he could heal to a minor degree! Cuz anyone taking a sword through the back that comes out through the other side should be dead and this happened more than once in the movie and he healed rather quickly with decent care !
Hey guys, this was my first time watching your reaction. I really enjoyed it. Make sure if you watch Deadpool 2 (you must watch it, I think it's even better), that you watch through the end credits. There is a lot in the after end credits for Deadpool 2.

That is the abomination (not to be confused with another MCU character) who is only Deadpool in name from the first Wolverine movie. The Merc with the Mouth that was not as he had his mouth fused shut. Also had Wolverine like claws, Cyclops's heat beam eyes and lord knows what else since we didn't care and he died.
Francis and Wade are an interesting matchup. Both have increased speed , reflexes, and strength. The interesting differences are that while Wade can heal from any injury in moments to minutes, he can still feel pain. So he can be slowed down with enough damage. Whereas Francis, on the other hand, he is a bit tougher, and can't heal quickly, he doesn't feel any pain, so he can fight at top form until he, literally, falls apart or is killed. In a long enough fight, Wade would, always win, but Francis can, basically, ignore any injury that isn't outright cripeling or fatal and go in for a kill shot that a normal person wouldn't try for.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking!! Francis has more feats than it seems cuz even his healing isn't like normal human healing you know? Getting stabbing through the chest or stomach and he isn't bleeding out and dying like a normal human would, even if you couldn't feel pain...we'd still technically die from those type of wounds/injuries....we just wouldn't feel it!
56:35 No way ya'll noticed, but this fight is happening on one of S.H.I.E.L.D's airships that crashed in the first Avenger's movie. They HELLA pushed as hard as allowed to connect Deadpool with the MCU.
Spoiler alert: I actually think it one of the helicarriers that went down in the second Captain America movie. Also, Wade was in the first wolverine movie. Another point is that no one could tell him whet Francis was is because most people knew him as Ajax.

There might be a reason that Wade Wilson reminds you of Slade Wilson. 😆 That was the writer's way of kind of sarcastically pointing out that he thought the design was a Deathstroke ripoff. And that sense of humor permeated the character, and evolved pretty naturally into the fourth wall breaking mercenary with a heart of gold (okay, gold plated) we know and love. And that's what really differentiates Wade from Slade.
"Do X-Men characters kill people?" Depends if they are currently doing a mission as an X-Man if not a lot of them will self defense someone to death and a few will actively look for bad guys to kill in their off time. Wolverine kills evil people all the time for instance.
That guy who pulled the bullet out of his forehead in the beginning wasn't a mutant. The bullet had already gone through 2 skulls. It didn't have enough power to go through another.

One notable change (among others) that they made to the character of Deadpool for the film is that they madeup some serum that turns you into a mutant to give him, as opposed to the comics, where he is a Mutate (a human artificially given mutant powers through experimentation or other scientific means).
I get a huge kick out of the part where Deadpool says "Wait!! You're probably wondering why the red suit? Well, that's so bad guys don't see me bleed. This guy's got the right idea, he wore the brown pants." 😅🤣
I swear, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. He nailed the character so damn well that we forgot about the atrocity that was the Green Lantern movie.

Deadpool is actually going to be part of the MCU... at least to a limited degree (can't have him cussing up a storm in an Avengers movie, after all). When this was made, he was owned by Fox, along with all of the other X-Men, but since Fox has now been consumed by Disney, all of the mutants and everything are now free to start coming into the MCU. In fact, Deadpool 3 is going to be his first official MCU movie, and Disney has promised to keep him just as crass and raunchy as ever, which is... awesome.
Can't wait for you to see DP2. There are 3 or 4 post credit scenes, make sure you don't miss them.

You can usually tell by how out of the loop they are with pop culture in general. I know quite a few people who haven’t seen more than one Star Wars or MCU film, so it’s not as incredible as it seems to those of us who gorge ourselves hourly on pop culture.

Except of course Deadpool in the comics is known for quips and being mouthy. So it's exactly his character. Also, he's more than a little nuts. Actually he's even aware he's a fictional character and constantly breaks the fourth wall in the book runs. So he's aware that there are different timelines and aware even if secret identities of various superheroes. So yeah while they should have cut down on the comedy for Thor and Captain America, being a smartass is actually part of Deadpool's character.
In the 90s marvel wasnt doing well and they sold the movie/tv rights to a bunch of thier characters. That's why fox had the xmen and anything mutant, and Sony has spiderman and his rogues... disney is currently sharing with Sony, and recently re acquired the characters from fox... that's why we saw a variant of professor x in multiverse of madness... deadpool is within that xmen and mutants umbrella and was a fox production and will most likely universe hop into the MCU's universe and will be one of the only characters to stay the same.
