Thank you! I needed this because I was really lost. Also, I think this is going to give us very conservative pitching changes in the lineup since everyone get's used to guys.
Xbox guy here and i love pinpoint. Reminds me of the old 2k games but yeah the timing is easily the most important thing. I dont think you mentioned that if you release it early youre going to hang something up in the zone. Its better to have slightly late timing bc itl go down in the zone
Thanks a lot. Last night 21 was kicking my ass as I am a RTTS guy. Everything was so fast paced. A bit better now. With you on this mode, hard but rewarding. Keep up the top notch vids!
Couple months into the game. Am writing this before watching the video hoping this video helps. I'm an okay hitter. But my pitching is why I lose games because of pure analog
I LOVED this pitching mechanic in the 2k series and always wished the show would have it. Finally they decided to put there pride to the side and add it to the game!
Geez its scary how much practice u already have with this lol. I been grinding as a new xbox player and u make me scared to go online until the rest of my newbs are on
I will stick with meter which im most familiar and its more accurate than analog this year with par. Pinpoint will take to long for me to mastsr. I already tried and failed with the test demo. But yeah i agree for those who do stick with and master it they will be rewarded. I just don't have the patience for it
@@Jhart44 yeah barely.. but i wouldn't make that the reason why you use it. I watched this video again and practicing pinpoint. that 4-seam fastball tip in this video helps a lot.
For some reason I suck with pinpoint pitching while in the windup, but from the stretch im godly. Having to wait before moving down the stick just decreases my accuracy for some reason.
@@erikwegener3484 Hey mate, thanks for the reply :).....Yeah I get into the menu - Settings>Gameplay>General>scroll down and they are all locked to off :(
Picking up the game in a few minutes (and new 27”monitor ). It would be nice if you had a camera up close on your controller to show the inputs. It will be easier once I get the game installed and controller in hand then just watching
Forkballs and splitters (same motion) Register that I passed the top blue circle twice when I only passed ot once. This completely makes me mess up the pitch every time. It's frustratingly stupid.
This doesn't seem that hard to get used to. My thing is that I don't seem to have any issues with control on pure analog this year so I question if there's really a point to doing this. Good guide though.
Yes there is a point. PP pitching offers the most accurate way to pitch in MLB the Show 21. SDS covered which pitching presets are more accurate than one another.
In the "pitching" settings. They basically show you the direction of the pitch and slight break. The double red lines is the same thing just without the arrows & it shows where the ball should actually go.
This pinpoint delivery system is a pretty good way to simulate real life pitching. I still use pulse because I just bob my head and press a button for 12ks a game. I can focus more on pitch placement, and bob my head for easy control.. LOL
I think if pinpoint pitching doesn't work super well for people or it isn't so much better, players might change their pitching controls based on the team. A fast team will get analog or meter, a slower power team might get pinpoint.
Does anyone know what to do when ur pitchers out of energy how do I get his energy back up I’ve taken him out of pitching lineup, but energy’s not going up.
If you have vibration turned on the controller vibrates when you get to the edges of the strike zone. I remember it shaking like that on PS4. On the PS5 controller it doesn't move like that, at least not for me.

Brev is a machine. Game came out 8 hours ago and he’s already dropping knowledge
i feel like curveballs can be good this year because you can locate them wherever you want with pinpoint.
Can’t you do that with analog as well? I just don’t see the point of this interface. Seems like a gimmick like they have on nba 2k
@@sirjam34 I just think pinpoint also engages you more into the game because you actually have to focus on what your doing
@@JackC85 yeah
i have pinpoint on but do not have catching view on what setting do i need to put on to see where the ball will end up
One of the best videos to help explaining the pinpoint pitching. Really appreciated it.
Im sticking to pure analog this year

I can see this being great in RTTS bc you are using the same player each game.
Perfect timing with this video drop as always, Brev! The people needed this and you always deliver! Appreciate you, brother! 🔥 🔥 🔥

That's just what I was thinking! I loved 2k's pitching back in the day
2k’s pitching was the best, this is just slightly different. But I’m still using it this year!
yea ima stick to pulse

Hi cbrev, do you recommend kontrolfreeks on the right analog stick for using pinpoint in competitive gameplay? or no
Whether it’s good or not, it’s just not something I want to do

I’m the opposite because in the stretch I rush the movement at the start or i take my time doing that then flick after quick enough
The splitter motion is broken! Can you do a video on that?
Did you figure it out
@@dillonmayhew1864 motion is also broken for me. it always stops the top dot as i pass through it no matter my speed
Great video what are your pitching setting
I don’t get it. I got it down but pitches still go wild. I’m at 90+ accurate, all green and just randomly a pitch goes way out of the zone.
1:57 i suck out of the windup. i'm so much better out of the stretch. idk why, but i'm better at timing the release out of the stretch.
Hey team, why are the Tutorials locked to "Off"...is there a way to change this? Thanks!
Press the big button above the sticks (on a PS4 controler). I saw it somewhere there. Sorry I can't be more exact

I'll stick to meter
😂😂 same
Same. Plus its second most accurate this year over analog

Yes there is a point. PP pitching offers the most accurate way to pitch in MLB the Show 21. SDS covered which pitching presets are more accurate than one another.
How do I get the black circle showing where the perfect pitch would go?
Its the most forgiving as well.
How do you get those yellow directional buttons showing which way the pitch is going?
In the "pitching" settings. They basically show you the direction of the pitch and slight break. The double red lines is the same thing just without the arrows & it shows where the ball should actually go.
This pinpoint delivery system is a pretty good way to simulate real life pitching. I still use pulse because I just bob my head and press a button for 12ks a game. I can focus more on pitch placement, and bob my head for easy control.. LOL
What about slide-step curveball?
can you show us how the new fielding mechanic works
How do u get to have the computer throw all the pitches down the middle
What is the pitxhing view if you play h2h cuz thats what I wouod like to practice with
That pitching view is strike zone
I can’t get it in the green it’s always to fast or to slow
Has anyone figured out how to throw harder with pinpoint? I tried pulling down faster but doesn’t seem to do much
I think if pinpoint pitching doesn't work super well for people or it isn't so much better, players might change their pitching controls based on the team. A fast team will get analog or meter, a slower power team might get pinpoint.
I think switching to Analog would be better if you're facing a speedy squad, just for the slide step.
Does anyone know what to do when ur pitchers out of energy how do I get his energy back up I’ve taken him out of pitching lineup, but energy’s not going up.
Take em out of the game
Lulz. A pitchers energy doesn't go back up on a game. Only way is to start the game over or, in franchise, let him rest for a few days.
Meter is the best for me
What pitching view is that?
Strike zone. I personally like pitcher offset
Does his controller have massive stick drift or is that the game making it move like that?
If you have vibration turned on the controller vibrates when you get to the edges of the strike zone. I remember it shaking like that on PS4. On the PS5 controller it doesn't move like that, at least not for me.
I don’t see this being good. The fact that you have to change your timing constantly doesn’t seem good at all. You need consistency in pitching.
I hate it, and why is meter the 2nd most accurate pitching setting? Makes no sense
Chat, where can I switch to game mode
No way this dude used to be a guy I watched in madden video games lol
Wait a minute. This is like mlb2k13 pitching. The only difference is that you gotta do one last motion at the end
Yep
I still have those songs stuck in my head
everyone glosses over splitters. It's way harder than a circle change
