Hi guys, I've got skilled enough with 5 balls for two years+ now : I can do some tricks with 5, and I'm working on 6 (can do like 20 throws max ). A tip I'd like to share, is to mind the rythm of the throws, like this : When you throw, try to thow the number of your balls MINUS one, in the air. For 5 balls, try to throw counting up to 4, because you will throw the last one AS YOU CATCH the first one you already threw. Again, when I go for 5 balls, I count to 4 : 1, 2, 3, 4, ... and the last one, I throw while catching. This helped me tremendously to catch the right timing ( very important ). It still applies for any number. I also use this trick when going for 6 balls. I throw 5 balls in the air, so I concentrate on throwing 5 evenly timed balls. The 6th one hits the first catch. I'm not a native english speaker, so please forgive me for the tedious wording. Please give it a go if you understand the idea. It was a key for success for me. Matthieu
I’m retired and picked up juggling a couple years ago to keep my brain, well, thinking it’s younger. It’s easy to fool. It’s a lot of, ‘I’m too old for this.’, and ‘Okay, let’s try that again.’ But it’s working and I’m making progress. Slowly. I can catch 10 or so of my four ball. Been working on five. Maybe six months in earnest. Watched plenty of videos on it. The last one of which is this one a few days ago. I’m commenting to announce that on this day, Friday, November 10’th, 2023 at 12:30 pm Eastern, I FLASHED FIVE BALLS!!!!! I always attribute my landmarks to the last video I saw. So attributions to you sir! :). Hope you make more videos. Oh, (I almost forgot) I just liked and subscribed. I’m slow. :).
Nice! The first flash is always exciting! You’ll be juggling 5 before you know it. And yeah, I definitely have plans for more videos, it’s just tough to find the time to work on this stuff. That’s why I’ve been mostly making shorts, but these longer ones are more fun to do
That last tip genuinely broke my brain, I’ve been doing 5 balls for a while and recently got 115 catches in one run, but the hole thing is actually insane and I can’t believe I’ve never seen anyone do this before, you my friend, are doing gods work
Wow that last tip was nice. Makes so much sense aiming for the hole. Ive been focusing on the ball at the peak of the toss, but when looking for the hole the pattern feels way smoother. Thanks yo!!
I am just learning but something that I think helps me or at least keeps me at it is to just catch the last 3 of the 5 I throw up and then the last 4. And to just catch the first one and throw it back up and then the first two and throw them up. This helps me throw all the balls at the same height too. Also, can throw all 5 and then just catch the left 3. Getting there.
Good collection of tips! Thanks for sharing! I definitely switch to an easier trick if I get frustrated. I’m gonna try aiming for the hole. I’ve been doing something similar, where I try to visualize where the path cross and make sure each ball hits that point. Right now my personal best is 30 throws. Maybe thinking about it this way will help.
hey Nick I think shooting for the hole is a great tip. I got frustrated trying my 5 ball practice today. I have made it a goal to practice my 5 ball cascade every day till I make 10 catches. So far my best is doing a few 5 ball flashes each day. Today I got discouraged because I felt like I got worse from my last practice rather than better. I was bewildered at how I was doing so badly today, so I came online to watch a few videos for some refresher tips. Your video may have given me what I need so thanks for that. I think the problem is that I just haven't been getting enough rest so I'm a little off/tired tonight. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Also maybe I ought to do my practice earlier in the day from now on. Other thing I am considering is picking up a new set of balls. Mine are kind of large for catching three in one hand and I think they are a little loosely filled making it hard to get consistent throws. There's a juggling store in the city and I might make a day out of going out there to try out some new balls, and to buy a set if they feel better then the ones I have. Whelp that's my story, thanks for reading.
I feel like with learning anything there’s a period of time where you just feel stuck, and it’s definitely discouraging, but you just have to keep practicing. Having good balls does help though. Everyone have a bit of a different preference on that. I actually like them a little under filled. Anyway, good luck learning!
Excellent straight to the point tips 👍 I'm very good at 4 but I guess I just need to practice more to get this 5 going....everybody wants to do 5 😅 Cheers 🍻
Some really good tips, thank you for it. Your ceiling though feels claustrophobic. Maybe Practicing from a kneeling position might help with more room for throws?
Exactly the video i needed. How much time did it take you to progress?? I have been attempting 5 cascade for 3,4 months now. I have reached to 7 throws max and can do 6 throws kindaa consistently. But not seeing progress post that for weeks!! Would love to know how much time people take to get! Also thanks for this videoo ❤ Will keep in mind a limit of 6 throws and works forward.
I'm glad this video was helpful! This was one of those things that I messed with every once in a while for a long time, but I never really felt like I was making progress, so I just focused on other things. Once I finally committed to practicing more consistently it took me maybe 5 or 6 months before I really felt comfortable with it. There was definitely a while where I was just stuck at that 7 ish throws mark, but it clicked eventually. Everyone learns at their own speed though. Good luck with learning it!
Be careful of throws that are too short. The ball comes to the other hand earlier. There is then no time to throw correctly before catching. This can happen, especially at the beginning, with the non-dominant hand throwing the 4th (or 5th) ball and catching the 1st (or 2nd) ball.
I know how to juggle and even successfully juggled 4 a few times I want to juggle 5 I will try your tips also the last tip is one I haven't tried so wish me luck thank you

Ty Tojo recommends to clean up higher cascades to do the even number underneath as a cascade with a hole. Like 55550, 6666660, 888888880, ....

Aim for the hole is always good advice
It really is

I didn't use to have much trouble with ceiling, but I recently started working on 7 balls, so that's probably a good idea
really good video!
thanks!
I can do 3 balls juggling but I still couldn’t do 5ball and I found out this was a very great advice

Thanks for the video bro, but your ceiling is pissing me off
Best 5:✓ tips 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Multumesc . Buna treaba!
very helpful!
What kind of snacks would you recommend are good for training with 5 balls?
Personally I'm a big popcorn guy, but if you go with something like an orange you can juggle it and eat it. Dual purpose
@@nickmoosic wtf does that even mean?
You asked for snacks, I was just making a joke
@@nickmoosic good one.
Thanks bro so much 😍
I know how to juggle and even successfully juggled 4 a few times I want to juggle 5 I will try your tips also the last tip is one I haven't tried so wish me luck thank you
Good luck! This can be pretty tough to get good with, but I'm sure you'll get there
I find my pattern starts to rotate even if I'm not
