That whole operation screams America 🇺🇸. Bunch of hard working guys all coming together for their lil slice of the pie. How can you not love it. Mud on your boots and sawdust on your pants with that smell of fresh cut wood. Great video thanks for sharing 🌲🇺🇸🌲
Thanks for making this video. I heard stories about the great timber in western PA/NY and the closest I got was when I went to Hubler Brothers in Clearfield PA to pick up a truck once in the late 90's. I trucked and logged for a short time in CT and MA back in the late 90's - early 2000's. Anyway thanks again. Your channel is awesome.
Great video!! I really enjoy watching logging videos. I gave an Amish logger a ride today into town to buy some new chains for his saws, their logging the woods behind my place. Its neat watching them pull the logs out with their 🐎.
That sounds like it would make a great video. The Amish are very hard working people and some of the best wood workers I have ever seen not to mention they will bend over backwards to help a friend. If only we had more people with ethics like the Amish things would be better all around. I know that you giving a ride to one of them was greatly appreciated and he probably said thank you but I want to say thank you for being the kind individual that you must be my friend.
A good number of Amish live in my parts. A truly fantastic people. So cool and inspiring to watch their way of life. How life used to be for all .... simplicity. Many, my wife included, call me an old soul. I prefer my life as such also ..... simple. Be kind to all, friends.
Yes yes yes yes. More like this with more of your saws in action please. Hehe Can I come to new York and run saws with you for a few days I am handy. 😁 My sister lives in that area. Keep them coming uncle Harv💪🏻⚡️🪓 Kindness and love.
Hi Harv nice vid mate thanks for sharing🤙 I’m a truckie myself I cart hot mix asphalt to lay the roads around Melbourne here🤙 that’s my full time job night shift and during the day mostly small engine repairs
@@ericharris893 Used it is an old john deere 60 skid steer so I am only swapping another horizontal shaft garden tractor engine that I can bolt a shaft to the front flywheel.
@@rustyshank912 right on! way to be. keep that old iron movin brother. Whene I’m done with a piece of equipment or vehicle, there’s nothing left on it worth reusing. I’m usually the last owner of anything I own.
My brother ran one of those pickers, if your not careful when your learning you can screw up cabs and cab lights logs banging into the cab are rough on the cabs. I fell and bucked on the landing while he picked. Most of the logs we cut went to build caskets and coffins. Right now I am cutting a lot of dead ash from the emerald ash bore killed all of them. Ash is done here in southeaster PA. Those ash look pretty healthy better than ours. These guys have their shit down, it is a hard job.
Nice landing logging/trucking vidja. I notice most of the New England states log trucks have the loader mounted behind the cab. Here in Wisconsin most have the loaders on the rear and pull a pup trailer. We usually haul 4000 to 5000 bd ft, weight wise.
i grew up in the mining industry and worked in it in various roles, this work and being out doors is a little similar. we dont have anyrhing like those picker trucks interesting insight to your logging life , warming up for you, id love to experience your cool weather coldest ive seen is maybe a very rare -5c, our winters here are normal 80f days, summer 120f
i got one of them cat D4h's idk what it is about them but the tracks are squeaky as all hell and I've adjusted the tension every where from banjo string tight to about fallin off don't make no difference
That’s about what my buddy’s yard looks like right now except it’s red oak and maple. The ole ground is getting a little muddy on top but still froze underneath for now. But mud season is upon us 😐. Nice looking stuff though!! Love the video buddy!!!! As always WORK SAFE 😎😎🇺🇸🇺🇸
Iron Horse nice video buddy! I finally heard you say you live in New York. I'm your neighbor to the east in Connecticut. How backed up are you with porting jobs? Are you able to take on any more at the moment? I have a 4:55 husky that I'd like to get ported. Please let me know..... Love the videos brother!
Working hard and making some money. The amount of money tied up in machinery just to make a buck is crazy. Looks like he had the rakers set pretty hungry on the dolmar.
Once again a good video and peek into uncle Harves life, it is a tough living...ain't never had a job with was c or heat except melting metal and cold southeast sea breeze...hard days work or lack there of is what alse this country
Hi Harvey love your channel nice to c a dolmar cutting I run a ps6400 dolmar great cutting saw love to hear your opinion on them n if any mods could give her
Yes. Emerald ash borer is killing it or should say has killed most of it I'm in central pa and we lost 50 to 100 ash logs in the last 5 years or so. Makes good firewood tho
Great video, I did not realize you were in western New York. I am in Genesee county, pulling alot of ash out of my property the last few years, keeps me warm twice....

Hello from eastern NY. I'm about 25 miles from the PA border, too. Great video. Love watching a good team work a landing.
Plus the chain is too aggressive
All this ti.e I've been watching and had no idea you were a fellow New Yorker. Hello from southern Erie County/Chautauqua County

Love this video Harvey, this is what we came here for, thank you for this. Why do they load the first truck then offload it again onto the next truck?
