This episode was another I’ve been really looking forward to watching with y’all because it’s also been extended for the anime! In the manga, Ichigo & Uryu don’t actually fight. They merely have a conversation before Uryu shoots Ichigo back down to the Soul Society. The anime really captures the sense of betrayal in a very nice way (both for Ichigo & the audience, considering how y’all reacted lol). The team has done a really good job in adding extra scenes in the anime that improve the experience overall! As always, I loved hearing y’all’s thoughts! 😊 (SN: Ichigo still does have access to his Bankai. He’s simply chosen not to use it yet.)
Orihime is broken, she has just been underutilized in the anime. I'm glad they are giving her some time in the spotlight. It was cool to see how easily she could block Gerard's slash.
Every Quincy can absorb Reishi, which is what all souls are made of. But none of them, aside from Yhwach, have been shown capable of absorbing an entire person. So theoretically, Ichigo could do it if he were to reach his full potential. Especially since he's pretty consistently shown himself to have more raw power than Yhwach afterall. But seeing as he has no mastery over any Quincy technique (aside from maybe Blut), it's unlikely he would be able to at the moment. That's really the only differentiating factor between him Yhwach imo. Sorry for the absolute yap fest of a reply. I might not even be right 😅
