More of these videos, please, there is very little information about freelancing in the surface design industry. Elizabeth, you are a gem, and I appreciate you sharing what you know with an open heart!
Thanks for this, Elizabeth. I'm finding it so hard to find freelance work, so anything you can share about how to find clients that use freelancers is so super helpful. I'm finding more clients that want to do licensing programs, but I'm looking for work to supplement my licensing work. I'm finding it really difficult to find clients that don't do everything in-house or want to license instead of hire. Your videos are always so helpful and on point.
I'm glad these videos are helpful! It's not just you, I promise...finding freelance work can be hard. I do have some suggestions on how to approach this in my workshop but I know you've probably already tried some of these methods! Potentially looking more locally could help - looking for relevant local businesses in nearby chamber of commerce directories may surprise you.
Great video, thanks Elizabeth! It’s great to hear some honest truths about what to expect. It would be great to see more examples of freelance projects & types of clients you’ve worked with in the past!
Good suggestion Lina, I will do my best to offer some of that info, but def search 'freelance' on this channel, I have a few lives where I've discussed some of these things
Thanks for the debunk dose, Elizabeth 💚 I am not feeling turned off. I am feeling empowered because your shared insights is going to prepare me to deal with the reality in better ways. Reality may not be easy-breezy, but it's way better than fantasy!!
I appreciate your contents about SPD. A while ago, signed up for the free workshop you mentioned in the video. Looking forward to it :) @@ElizabethSilver
@@ElizabethSilver yeah that is what I was sorta think along the lines too when you were talking about scale and changing it up as a freelance vector would be best without losing its integrity! What are your thoughts on pattern bank?

Thanks for the encouragement, I'll see what I can do to add some more on this topic!
Honesty is SO important. It’s a time saver for us, so thank you for honest content.
You're very welcome!

Do you work more in vectors or raster files? Or does it depend on the client for you?
Depends on the client and the project, personally I like to do most things in vector but some textural designs just work better in Photoshop
