  • Twitter users in Ghana have forced American media giant CNN into changing serious misrepresentations of the country following its coverage of the country's recent elections. This video portrays a true picture of Ghana to the world contrary to misrepresentations that seek to conceal the true beauty of the Black Star.

      I have been to India because of me having family in the nation. The Indian people do say that everything is okay yet they are in a horrible situation.
      Let’s start with the pollution. I have spent two days in Delhi max, about three months in Patna *capital of Bihar*, one week in Kashmir *in 2015*, and about 3 hours in Bombay. There is one connection with all the cities. They have high populations and pollution. The villages are an even worse situation with an ever larger lack of first world devices. However, Kashmir, a bit before India ruined the area, was okay.
      Next, I am too lazy to write a RUclips comment this long so bye.

      All of the US doesn't look like downtown Manhattan either, or Beverly Hills California. Take a walk thru Appalachia, Mississippi or the South Side of Chicago. The majority of the US is not someplace anyone would want to live either. Get out of the Sunken Place and stop seeing everything thru the eyes of those who feel superior to Africans or people of African descent.

      I am a Mississipian, and just like people have stereotyped the continent of Africa, they also stereotype us because we never make news headlines, unless it is for something negative. It is the same way with Chicago. There is only a small portion of Chicago that is the "warzone" portrayed by the media. Please do not think that you can just "walk through" Mississippi" and everyone and everything is one big stereotype.

    Africans need to unite, to help educate the world and rather stop insulting eachother.Afterall most parts of the world see Africa as a poverty stricken place with the people malnourished.Which generally is NOT TRUE!.A continent very rich in resources but what do we have to show? Forbes list controlled by the west often place us where in terms of wealth?...Stop the insults,help develop your respective countries and together Africa will be great.United Africa

    • @ReactwithRandy
      @ReactwithRandy 7 лет назад

      I have some people say Africa unite but the don't no any thing about Africa. The only place in the world where things are seen in black and white perspective is in Africa there layers to this continent call Africa. Our diversity is our straight.

    • @deniszume2031
      @deniszume2031 7 лет назад +8

      I understand your point very well.But that is the society we live in now,diversity in everything..But if Africa needs to be strong we need to keep tolerating eachothers views and opinions, and thus see ourselves as one.Constructive criticisms devoid of insults,that is the way forward.The unity I meant was in the view of humanity and our location on the map,Africa.When Africa is insulted is not a particular tribe,clan e.t.c but the residents of that land.We also need to stop supporting wrong,base on the fact that he/she is from my country,if you have your country and the continent at heart you should practice the culture of educating the person to do right.Thanks

      The way forward is simple - We need effective leadership. It all starts and ends with leadership. the captain of the ship is the most important aspect when it comes to steering the ship to its destination. Most African Nations lack that

      Why didn't you capture on ground ? and you use a drone or you just got a new drone.
      You will see open market on walking pavement all DAY and NIGHT & pedestrians walking in the middle of roads then if a car knocks you down the police will tell you, You were JAIL WALKING... Funny Right.
      And No bin in the city's and if there 'is' is filled up with rubbish A.K.A BOLA for like 6 MONTHS so forget about the Villages.
      the roads that you see from the drone like a bird flying, every view from top is nice in it. the interchange is full of posters from all kinds of pastors that always preach to be good people, then tell their advertising agencies to print their posters and paste it on the interchange that the gov. has make a concrete design saying POST NO BILL.
      this video was made when it was about to be open and some are still not open yet. Because Ghanaians know why...
      Now come and see BOla Smelling as hell...
      PotHoles in roads that you can plant COCOA or flowers in it..
      Potholes in roads that are filled with a watery mound that kids call it MILO A.K.A Cold chocolate.
      Gov. medical Labs can go on strike for days, teachers can go on strike on examination day so the student will miss their test all to MAFIA the Gov.
      A country that you are a college or university student that doesn't have lectures and you want to watch a bit of TV and get educated, all you get on TV is Political Debate 24hr or Indian movie for an adult and the content too is for like married 35years old. so it makes every child in Ghana a politician and untalented
      And every underage child has a political party and the position of the parent, either NPP or NDC when you come to ghana ask 1 and see..
      A country that doesn't have road signs but you might see police on roads just given High 5 to some Drivers and there are No seat beat in most cars and No Bus system too..
      every commercial TroTro bus is in the association of G.P.R.T.U and all of those buses, non is haven seatbelt for passengers.
      Hmm i can't say it all man, is like explaining hell....
      never wish to be a Ghanaian now, leaving in this country 2018, may be hopefully this new gov. will help, let see 2020, when their term ENDS.
      how I wish I can travel Back in time to 1957 to tell this story, at the Independence Day to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

    Ghana is an INCREDIBLE place and i've learnt so much from my time there, I stayed there for a month this summer and loved it. There are some beautiful parts and some amazing beaches, the people are also some of the best out there. However, it's not all that pretty as seen in this video, there are also some very impoverished areas, especially when you go inland.

    If that was the major part of Ghana, I think CNN would've captured it. However move from the sky (Aerial view) and walk on the streets in Nima, Chorkor, Jamestown, Kantamanto and even legon and you will be greeted with open gutters and filth. And that's the reality of Accra, not the aerial view being showed here.

    why international medias is constantly showing the worst side of developing countries like India , Pak , Sri Lanka, or other African Countries and so many other developing countries . our countries are also developing and achieving so many goals, I am an Indian , i don't know about other countries achievements in various fields, why because International Medias do not give Much attention or Importance to many Major Inventions in these countries, My Country India have one of the best Space Organisation in the world, Rated as one of the best Place for investments in Asia , so many corporate world is investing here . If you take World Best Doctors , Scientists, Innovations , Business Peoples , there will be Indians . Most of the Scientists work in NASA, Microsoft, GOOGLE , Amazon are Indians.
    Despite all this - Most of the International Channels likes to show only the worst side of the developing countries like us. So the Common people like us believe in what they show. This is how International Medias are Cheating Common People in Different Country, Thus it makes common people unaware of other countries achievements and bright side .

Ps this was one city, i saw no farms to feed the people or a river or lake to get sweet water from. 2 very importend things. And some people justly say rural ghana looks way different. Your average villiges are not even close to that. Here in the netherlands even our small villages have flowing water, internet, electricity ect. Well i think you get where im going with this. Altough we probably have one off the best in the netherlands we still think it can always be better. Never be satisfied and always shoot for the moon ;). wunademones I would expect a rational being to answer with clear and concise reasoning as to why a positive vid should be painted with such a negative thought. Rome was not built in a day. And, who are you to propose key development metric and with this, who determines what should be the highest end. Every country has its own problems. If you quick to point/exaggerate the faults of one just to show how good or superior you are, you end up being a mockery of yourself. To end this, compare modern china to 1950 china. During those times, stupid people like you criticised every major move along their route to becoming a strong nation. So, fuck you and also wherever you come from.

    • @wunademones
      @wunademones 6 лет назад +7

      Blah blah blah blah blah the facts still remain! a few isolated shots of a few houses and infrastructure while 95% of the rest of the country is sitting in dusty roads and open sewers is not progress no matter how delusional you are determined to be. Stupid people like you fail to realise that countries like South Korea who started out on the same GDP as Ghana during the Nkrumah era have idustrialised and modernised into a 1st world countries. The UAE have managed to raise elite cities within 25 years and you still have the audacity to spew your blind, senseless patriotic nonesense becuase i am simply pointing out the very harsh reality to which you take offense to. It's like living in a cardboard box on the street and celebrating how buetiful the Iphone is in the corner of your cardboard box that is about to fall apart should the weather determine so.

    • @logicgladiators3502
      @logicgladiators3502 6 лет назад +7

      wunademones I do agree with you concerning the pace with which we are progressing. I do not confirm mediocrity. I believe that our development is past overdue. However, It would be utterly bias not to consider external influences that have impeded development in sub-Saharan Africa. It is with this that, I still stand on this island of hope surrounded by forces who will wish nothing but destruction of the continent. With this said, I also believe that internally, we have our own issues hindering progress. This will take some for us to united to become a true republic. It took years, centuries before eurpean tribes Unite to form nations. The rest is history. The oldest african country is between 60 to 70 years old. So, it will take some time but surely africa will get there.

    Development refers to the totality of a country, not just a small pocket of a town called Accra. Don't show off Accra in this manner when there are millions of people starving. We should demand from our leaders that what is good for certain parts of Accra - and, by the way, not all of Accra is developed - is certainly good for all the towns and villages in Ghana. How can we be happy if one person is left out, let alone towns and villages?

    • @mannyfabin524
      @mannyfabin524 7 лет назад +12

      80% of my family is in Ghana ranging from those living in "villages" to upper middle class inhabitants in Accra. What millions of starving people are you talking about? Holding leaders to account and wanting transformational change is one thing....repeating lies about starving Ghanaians parrot fashion is another thing.

      migf27 BBC did a cover story on poverty in the US, it was really awful and deplorable the way the US treats them. As the supposedly richest country in the world we spend a pittance on medical, mental health, education, and our ailing infrastructure. We are going backward to the turn of last century very slowly. CNN is a crappy news network as are all MSM news. We had RT but the fascist politicians banned it because it showed the true picture of America.

    It is understandable that the Ex President would like the world to believe this is Ghana & its true these places do exist.The group that posted this clip is called "Ghana at Work" but as the Ex President admitted at his press briefing in January 2016 the Government has no idea how many people are actually unemployed because the Government does not have the ability to provide the statistics.I have not seen the CNN clip so I don,t know what they showed however I noticed there was no views of the poorer parts of Accra like Community 22 in Tema or Ashaiman in this clip.

      Babacar Gueye Your point is that when CNN & other western media organizations report on the US or Europe they don,t tell the full story is that correct ? In regard to this clip put out by the Ex President you think it is OK to show the parts that show Ghana in a good light whilst ignoring the appalling conditions that lots of Ghanaian,s live under.Are you not advocating exactly what you claim western media does in US & Europe ? That is show the good parts & ignore the rest.

The flip side of the coin (open gutters with filth, poor roads, poor agricultural systems, agric produce ~tomatoes and oranges~ going to waste because of lack of processing facilities to process them, unsanitary conditions) is the true reality of Ghana not this aerial view of a few recently renovated buildings. Let's call a spade a spade. We were talking about the Kwame Nkrumah circle being a little Dubai, but just walk a few meters from circle and you will be greeted with the filthy stream that separated the Neoplan station from the Circle station

      Are you from Ghana? Are you an American or African? Every African wants to make their country look beautiful. I am a Nigerian and I know my country is not a utopia but I still love my country. I study and live in the United States but I still recognize Nigeria as my motherland. I do not need to think about racial discrimination in Nigeria, nobody calls me a minority in Nigeria, I do not get scared in Nigeria when the police stop me. I can keep on going. If CNN wants news they should go to the streets of America and make a news report on racial abuse, homeless people, inadequate schools and all the remaining nonsense America claims is not their fault.

    • @blackwhite2361
      @blackwhite2361 7 лет назад +3

      ....and you are telling me you've never heard all those things you are talking about on CNN? Once you know America is not utopia it means you heard or read about the flip side from the media. I don't think where I'm from is relevant to the point I'm trying to send across..Every part of the world have their positives and negatives.. I just feel the problems in Africa out weighs the positives.

    • @samnwagu1334
      @samnwagu1334 7 лет назад +5

      Black White great that u recognised that their is negative nd positive problem all over the world ..But at least let's be honest nd call a spade"a spade. CNN never show any bright side of Africa ..its always bad side of it . telling the rest of the world that nothing good comes from Africa but when you look very well..They are the real cause of the problems there either by instigating the opposition or looby the government to loot from their own gain afterwards they will be offered asylum in Europe. until we realised this and take the bull by the horn. .It continues this way.
