Did you know?
-Mystic Manor was originally designed as Hong Kong Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, with a darker theme.
-The soundtrack was composed by Danny Elfman, who also voiced the singing armours in the Arms and Armours Room. The song was translated into Cantonese and Mandarin, and was looped in the attraction.
-Laser projections and hung transparent fabric create the illusion of magic dusts floating in the air at the Acquisitions and Cataloging Room. When the room is lit, the fabric is concealed above guests. Such fabric also appeared in the Music Room and Slavic-Nordic Chamber.
-Although called Magneto-Electric Carriages, the trackless ride vehicles run on wheels and controlled by WiFi. Similar systems are also used in Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo and Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy in Paris.
-Front row of the first carriage is always the best.
Guys, have you thought that the acquisitions/cataloging room appears twice in the ride's track? They trick you by making you think you went right back to where you started, but they actually built two different rooms that look exactly the same in every single detail! That's so remarkable!!
This shows that disney still has the dedication to make sure every detail is correct down to the very last detail
In 2012

One time I rode this without the second car, and I found out that in both of the scenes (first and last one in the aquisitions and cataloging room) They both have charging platforms for the cars since they stay put for an amount of time!
Nice job on the video. Love the ride!
This is great!! You should do this for more rides if you can! I really enjoyed it
That was awesome!!!!!!!! :D
Hello, we make educational videos on how certain rides work. We're thinking of making a video on trackless dark rides soon. Do you mind if we reference and/or use this video with proper credit to you? Please let us know soon.
Thanks. :)
That's a brilliantly designed ride (Unlike a few other recent Disney attractions).
So the Mystic Manor concept finally found its way into a finished attraction. Great!
And good job on the ride video, very informative. Well put together
I always knew there were two Acquisitions and Cataloging Rooms. In the first one, Albert has a hat on, in the second, he doesn't.
Mmm i think it's supposed to imply that he lost it in the room that had its walls flying out (timeframe: 4:26 - 4:39)
@@nickname6610 Albert's hat was inserted into the door.
That's an amazing ride system!
Excellent work , thks to share :)
Woow, this explains a lot, thanks you!
AWESOME!!! #1 reason I wanna go to Hong Kong!
so the difference between the first 2 and last 2 carriages are the formers will go to the singing armor part and get shot by the crossbow, while the latters will stop at the laughing samurai armor, plus the 1st and 3rd will basically swerve around the salon part more than the others
I am hong kong chinese!!!!!!! Mystic manor look like/ act like night of the museum movie!!!!!!
Tokyo's Pooh's hunny hunt is a similar trackless ride system I believe.
awesome ride!
Besides the fact that Albert's not wearing his hat in the end, anyone else notice his clothes are torn in multiple places?
zugji2
3:53 Cause arrows tore his clothes
what? this already 10 years ago??? lol i shd be 7 years old back then only, time flies indeed... seems like it wasn't that long ago
This ride system could be used to make an interesting Tron ride
A bit short when compared to the other mansions, but nice to see something fresh in Disney parks. Seems like it's a Haunted Mansion for those who are too scared of the Haunted Mansion. Although, if the Mansions were done with modern effects like these, it would be amazing. Surprised that the narration is all in English in a chinese park (I remember that Phantom Manor had to go to French from English for some reason)
Will we ever get it ported to one of the US Parks? It seems to have a very tight footprint. How do they do the purple and green laser particles? Scrims around the room? I never see any hint of them from the videos. Tiny filament fishing lines? Never seen the giant armor guy holding up a helmet? Only car 3 and 4 get to see? Amazing!
I agree, except that the Test Track in Orlando is kind of their Tron ride now. I mean, it's not necessarily all Tron, but the setting looks heavily inspired by it.
I think is good
I like how smooth the animatronics nowadays are.
I'd love to have the other Disney parks to have a ride with the same type of ride system. I understand that Hong Kong Disneyland made deals so that no other Disney Park can have their own Mystic Manor (or Mystic Point), but I would love to see other versions of this ride system in the other parks.
1:44 obvious reference to the haunted mansion
The singing knights is also one
That's because Hong Kong is a separated country where the main languages are both Chinese and English. As for Phantom Manor, it was French dubbed because there aren't too many people in France who speak English well enough to consider it as their second mother language. :) Hope I made it clear for you ;)
I knew there was something sus about the cold room
The map on the bottom is nice.

Nice.
I'm Chinese but I like English ones.
Yes i was refering to the California one
I wouldn't say no to that, but there isn't much room for one over at Disney World. And since you said Toontown, I take it you go to the California one more often.
better than thoes old haunted mansions
Can you do one for Tower of Terror
The new test track did take Tron as an inspiration but I think Disney really needs to incorporate this into tomorrowland, The land I feel has gotten the most neglect (not counting toontown)
Woohoo I Love THAT never mind I live in HK
Looking at the layout, is it smaller than the layout of the Haunted Mansion(s)?
Yes I think it is
Is it really? That's pretty sweet! Now I need to go to Tokyo...
This one is in Hong Kong
It has no ghosts/spirits because the Chinese view death/spirits differently than western cultures so I am curious if they kind of ran out of space or ideas.
HK not the same as China. No one care about ghosts and spirits. There have Halloween night in other theme park too. HK culture is way more like western.
@@alishanightshade3270 actually, Hong Kong in itself does celebrate Chinese holidays, 拜祭(forgot the english whoops) and burn money to the dead peopl and whatnot so id say it’s 50/50
@@salami7031 I just forgot those people 😅 I know it cuz I live in HK
does it turn fast?
Wow that is smart. So much they can doin such a small space. Chinese are very superstitious. So viewing ghost in Chinese culture is with caution so Disney went with this.
is the plant an animatronic or a projection
the plants are animatronics
Mystic Manor still considered as the Haunted Mansion Ride.
thaddeus pun That's the Haunted Mansion version of Hong Kong Disneyland just like Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris.
+thaddeus pun Yep, you are right it's on more spirits and mythical coming to life.
thaddeus pun Yeah but I think the Phantom Manor is scariest yet the saddest story of any non based Disney movie made into ride.
thaddeus pun No im from Philippines.
Tj Samson the
Is scary but is ok I scared 10
