@@patpat7516 yes! It works pretty good, actually. It holds up just fine. I use dollar store stuff and it lasts for eevvvvveeeerrrrr. Much safer than using fire (just don't breathe it in, lol).
If you use normal friendship bracelet string, which is different than this, this is more smooth and doesn’t feel like cotton that is used in friendship string. The friendship bracelet string will just catch fire when you use the lighter and char, instead of fusing together the strings together which means some of the strings will fall out, because they aren’t fused together
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with what is a "normal" friendship bracelet sting, if it is made of nylon it will melt, if it has cotton in it, then it will not and so it will burn.
i tried making mine with the only thing i had. i forgot what it’s called but you use it for sewing. there are so many colors you can do but the string is very thin. it melts correctly which is good and it ended up working out!
- strings set on fire and didn’t melt together - strings didn’t hold the twist at the end - after making square knot, since the strings didn’t melt together, two ends of the bracket popped off Thanks for commenting back and for the good vid, hope it worked out for others
Maybe the problem was the type of sting that you used. Try using the same string but instead of melting use glue to hold the knots or get a polyester or nylon cord.
@@petrishalee2315 For the twists, you have to twist the individual strings one way (like clockwise), then when you are twisting them together, twist them the opposite way (like counter clockwise). The strings won't melt unless there's nylon in the string. Cotton will just burn.
Hi can ı ask a question? How do you make the knot stay in place. Mine just sliding while ı take of the bracelet from my wrist. And all multi strings fall down. Am ı pull hard or am i doing wrong the knot? I'm talking about the knot which you made 1:20 I hope you can help me.
I finally got a Happy Planner set with a bracelet in it. Then I broke the bracelet by trying to cut it smaller. So now I've bought 3 different kinds of material 5o make just one bracelet. Now I have like 40 yards of waxed thread. Guess everyone is getting bracelets for Christmas!!
If you are planning to make these, please keep in mind that Puravida provides jobs at living wages for struggling artisans in third world countries. If you can buy real bracelets from the brand, it is helping a great cause. If you can, I encourage you to buy directly from Puravida.
Does melting the ends of the bracelet help it stay together? The first time I made one, I didn’t melt the ends and it fell apart. Should I try to melt the ends so it will stay together?
This is stupid it all worked until the square not your vid that you suggested explained how to do it on 3 different straight cords not 2 crossed and one straight
Curly Made that’s what i did but i don’t think i have the right type of string.😕 i love this video tho!! it’s simple and very useful and u show every single step u take thank u so much for that!!💗 some people don’t do that and it makes everything so much more complicated!!
You can. Use clear nail polish instead of fire 😊
kbear is that working? With clear nail polish?

I like the bracelet, but not the way it looks with the burnt edge. The nail polish is a great idea.
You can also use mod podge! That’s what I use
Or super glue, just be careful lol
i used hot glue instead of burning it, worked out great
I love it! Now Im afraid to make one, because I know I wont be able to stop making more and more😆. Thanks for the tutorial 😁
So happy to hear. There's no problem in that, they are super inexpensive to make, so that's ok 👌
Haha sams
Ditto!!
All I have to say is I’m buying a puravida bracelet now bc I failed
Oh no, what happened?
I made it too big
You can always try again
It call Pura vida not puravida
@@silviaflower5369 lmao calm down it’s not that deep💀
my bracelet is on fire uh.. I think I have the wrong string😟😂
Same😂
Me too lol
Oh no haha Make sure it’s a waxed string!
Kathryne Garza omg I’m so glad you warned me mine would have done that too bc it’s cotton
You can also use clear nail polish if you have friendship bracelet string
Omg I love making these now :,)
Also for anyone wondering...
you can make the bracelets with normal cloth cords and use clear finger nail polish 🙃❤️
Thanks for leaving the tip. I'm super happy you liked it ❤️
I use cloth too I’m using candle wax
this is how many people raged during the process

Curly Made it’s not your fault you said what string to use I was just clarifying so people would know
You can just use super glue that has a brush that works really well
All I have to say issss.....THANK YOU!!! You solved the mystery of how Purvida makes their beach bum bracelet, I couldn't figure it out lol thank you😊
i cant stop making these, they're so cute lol
I'm guessing this doesnt work with embroidery floss, does it?
Grace Teltser im doing mine w embroidery floss
Instead of burning it, hot glue it. That’s what I’m going to do
Hot glue seems a bit thick, have you tried with nailpolish or water resistant glue?
Curly Made no I didn’t. Good idea!
It does
i tried making mine with the only thing i had. i forgot what it’s called but you use it for sewing. there are so many colors you can do but the string is very thin. it melts correctly which is good and it ended up working out!
Great tutorial! Can't wait to make these!
Edit: Made my bracelet! It was so easy! I even added a little charm!
Hope you enjoy!
What string did you use
How do you tie an open knot, I’m so coknfused
it's legit the knot u tie before the bow when u tie ur shoelace
My ends won’t twist. I’m using the waxed cords. It’s frustrating.
1:09 How do you tie this kind of knot? I'm so confused and I need help hahah.
You can watch my detailed video on that knot ruclips.net/video/4ZqHrKNdSnQ/видео.html
It's like the first step when tying your shoes
I'm confused to lol
it’s like the first step to tying your shoes but i think she put the one string under and the one over and the pulled
Nice work. Thanks for sharing this.
My bracelet is BOMB omg thank you
:D Thank you so much
If you're using embroidery floss instead of using a lighter I recommend using clear nail polish.
yea I almost just burnt my house down doing this
Omg, be careful 😱
Is it mandatory to melt the strings together?
It depends on the type of string you have, but you'll always have to find a way to hold them together
Curly Made
thank you for the quick response!!
@@nicole-td9sk Another option would be to dip the ends in melted candle wax or plastic.
Tried this and it miserably failed 😭😭

Can fabric glue be used to secure the cords?
This video is amazing! Thank you so much!

haha, ended up being a good thing then, a personalized bracelet for everyone :)
WHERE DO U BUY THE WAX CORD?
Carmen Montanez hobby lobby has some :)
Normal string is fine. That’s what I use 🙃
Silv3r normal string just burns the string how do you use normal string to melt it ??
You don't melt it, you can use glue or nailpolish to hold the ends
Amazon
What are those strings called? Where can you buy them?
They are called nylon satin cords, I got mine on ebay
Or I used embroidery cord from craft stores it's really cheap you can find it in the craft section
If you are planning to make these, please keep in mind that Puravida provides jobs at living wages for struggling artisans in third world countries. If you can buy real bracelets from the brand, it is helping a great cause. If you can, I encourage you to buy directly from Puravida.
Lexi Clevenger not any more they don't, they're made in China now.
how do you keep the strands twisted? mine just unwind with i let them go!
you fold them, so they twist around each other
@@CurlyMade this confuses me too. What do you mean by "fold"? Mine are just unwinding again.
Can this be an ankle bracelet
This is my first time on this channel I love it
So glad you like my videos, thank you so much
Super job and have a look at mine
Thanks 😉
love your work
After I twist the two pieces together and knot them, they untwist. What's the secret to keeping them twisted together?
What type of thread is this ??
Can you show me the link in eBay where you bought the chord because I’m having trouble finding some !
Asiana Lee you can buy bundles of cord on Amazon.
What kind of sting is it?
What kind of string do i need to get? The kind I have burns on the ends when trying to make the closure
Where did you get the thread if you remember?
Where are you from? Nice video btw
Thanks. I'm from Portugal
Thiss worked so good
Awesome!
Thank you so much ❤️
Thanks for ur helpful video.
my twists arent staying twisted help!
Awesome video! I like the cord you used :)
Thank you so much, have you used satin cords before?
I haven't! It looks beautiful :)
Will you tell me, did you buy your thread from Amazon or was there a local store (US) that your purchased them from?
I'm not from the US and I got the thread through ebay
I know you can get a lot of yarn from Walmart for cheap
are they adjustable?
Yes, you can tighten them more or less, in the same way you have to slacken it to slide over your hand.
cincy classics team yes
Failed I am trying again💕
might be a dumb question, but is the cord you used like embroidery thread? and can you melt the ends of embroidery thread together like you did here?
No, embroidery thread will not melt, if you want to use that, you'll need to glue the ends instead of melting
I am confused on how to tie the first knot that is showed.
Awesome!!!!
Thanks :D
Does melting the ends of the bracelet help it stay together? The first time I made one, I didn’t melt the ends and it fell apart. Should I try to melt the ends so it will stay together?
Yes, otherwise the knots will come apart
Do the square knots slide? Or is that how you’re supposed to tie it once you put it on your wrist?
The square knots slide, letting you adjust the blacelet to your wrist
Can you use clear glue
Sure you can
i love your voice
I always think I sound so weird, but thanks 😁
Woowwwww! What do you call the strings you used and where can I buy it?:)))
I got them from aliexpress or ebay
Where can you find the waxed polyester cord?
I got it on ebay, I usually get everything there, they shoud sponsor me by now 😅
Curly Made ok! Thanks lol
If I use the nylon satin cord will it still burn together?
Yes it will
Would it work the same to make this with one string and a charm rather than many strings?
Yes, watch my sliding knot video, it's perfect if you are just using one string
Curly Made ok thanks
I love ur accent so much
Thank you 😘
@@CurlyMade oh my gosh of course 😂💙 this video is awesome
Can you use embroidery floss?
Yea it works just as well! 😊
when i used embroidery floss i couldn’t melt the edges. it kept lighting on fire LOL
yes but use clear fingernail polish instead of melting it
brooke wenzlick can you use other colors or do you have to use clear nail polish?
Jasmin L. You can use any color, but if you don’t use clear you will be able to see it.
can you use embroidery floss instead?
Yes, but I'm not sure it will look as good. If you try it use glue to hold the ends instead of burning.
@@CurlyMade ok thank you
Yes
is there any other method then using a light to put the ends together?
you can use glue as well
thank u
what do you do with the excess string from tying those knots
Excess? I cut it
i luv itt❤
What type of string are you supposed to use to melt them together?
Nylon or polyester cords
@@CurlyMade Thank you so much! :)
open knots?
How many strings to you use for the like middle part? If you know what I’m talking about 😅

How do you tie a dang open knot! I am struggling at 1:15 (time of the video)
Watch my how to make a square knot video, that night help
Ellie Weston it's literally the knot you tie when you're tying your shoe laces.
Are these bracelets adjustable once you’re wearing them?
Yes, they are
How do you make the knot
Bruh ikr
So cotton thread doesnt work?
It works, you just can't melt it, you'll need to close the ends with glue or nail polish
can you use embrodeiry string?
Ayleen Alvarez i saw another comment saying to use hot glue. idk if it works but good luck
Yes, just use glue or nailpolish to hold the ends
Hot glue seems a bit too thick, but might work, haven't tried it. I would say to use a water resistant glue or nailpolish
Where did you get your string?
I usually get it online
Yesss love this
How thick is the string??
1.0 mm
i still don’t ge this to do the knot thing at the end :(
Watch my how to make a square knot video, that night help
This is stupid it all worked until the square not your vid that you suggested explained how to do it on 3 different straight cords not 2 crossed and one straight
It is the exact same process, except that one of the cords comes from the oposite direction. You just need to make the square knots around those two.
My string didn’t burn together 😔 I have Floss string or whatever it’s called 🤣
Try using clear nail polish :)
Guys it’s called a hot glue gun 😂
the square knot part didnt make sense. in the tutorial there's 3 strings, not 2.
i tried melting my string.... it caught on fire😂
You cant let the flame touch the string and have to stop once you see it melting 😉

you have to be very gentle with it, do not let the cord touch the flame

just the bracelet

Oh! You have to be super gentle and do not touch the flame to the bracelet, it just needs a little heat to melt.
OH LOL That makes sense.
why don’t you just buy a pura vida bracelet off their site for $6 and support a charity? 🤷♀️
Duh Itz Demitra idk about u but we on a budget.

i’m sorry but this makes no sense like i can’t even figure out what a open not is and the other vid doesn’t help at all

This is SO confusing and there were no ends to twist or whatever sry but I don’t understand anything that u did again sry not trying to be a brat
It's just a bunch of loose string tied together. What's the point? It doesn't look nice and hot glue and lighter burn looks really disgusting
The knot was so hard to understand tbh you were really hard to follow. My opinion 🤗
I’m guessing a lot of the viewers here are girls (not being sexist)
What size thread are you using?
the cord is 1mm thick
