But mostly just stumbled upon a small channel that will one day be huge. You’re super knowledgeable and your video presented wonderfully. I remember on one playthrough me and two buddies were playing. Our buddy lost alot of blood and wasn't recovering at all. We had a blood test kit, blood bags, etc. We took blood from myself and my uninjured friend. Our injured friend had a 65% chance of living and we took it. He did not survive.
I am just returning to Dayz after a few years off. I really love how much they have improved the medical side. Being a member of the Trusted Medics of the Wasteland was a lot of fun and I hope to do more of this kind of thing in future games. Great stuff here, thank you.
Something he forgot to mention, sewing kits csn also be used to fix wounds. I know it seems like a waste, but sometimes when you're out of bandages you don't have time to cut up clothes

If anyone watching this get the same deep urge to just get on and go randomly help people, instead of using med supplies think about using a coastal town’s PA system and sharing basic medical information this way to fresh spawn/new players. I didn’t know about disease when it came out until someone explained to only drink clean water over an Elecktro PA system!
That last part saved a buddy of mines life yesterday they got contacted with another team member one broke their leg falling the other got shot, turns out the enemy wasnt ready for 3 of us to roll up got the broken leg fixed so he could atleast shoot and tended to the other with a firefight on going 🤣
Had salmonella yesterday for 3 hours. Accidentally took a bite out of some guts and couldn't shake it. Took 10 charcoal pills and nothing worked. Took Tetras and nothing. Thought I was going to die. Only thing that ended up curing it was a multivitamin.

Ah yes. This guide is really outdated now! I produced it in 1.12, when wound infection wasn't yet implemented. The only risks that these preventative measures covered back then was the spread of diseases like cholera amongst a squad. It just happened to work out that way. I'll get around to making an updated medical guide. Promise 😉

Also, thank you for your service and the roll you have in it. I've got some good friends that I've met before and after deployment that wouldn't be here without the brave men and women that do your job.
8:27 that’s fine most of the time in game but when you’re sick or with certain food items like jam for example if you eat too much it can make you vomit and make your food and water bars plummet as a result so there is still some reason to hold onto food.
I ate an unknown can of food recently and when I saw a sus stomach thing appear I remember what u said about multivit so I quickly took one, got food poisoning/illness after but was over pretty fast :)
I would love to, and I am! The problem is that each DayZ guide takes 12-18 hours of work, and I am juggling full time employment, the gym, and my family. So my uploads are unfortunately somewhat infrequent. DayZ is hard to record for. But I'm trying my man.
@@czechoslovakia7105 the problem is inconsistencies with game mechanics. Water stored inside of a cooking pot can be boiled and purified, but using that water to fill an empty bottle still somehow gives you cholera. However, if you drink the water directly from the pot, you're safe.

From the wiki: "Disinfectant Spray is a cleaning solution commonly used in the cleansing of household facilities. It is used to disinfect items and equipment to lower, if not eliminate an infection chance of Cholera. It can also be used as a pesticide on plants to eliminate the chance of the plants becoming infected with pests." And yes, CPR in DayZ is hella wack.

@@cookingmedic8849 been searching all of berezino for days now found everything else I need for base building. I really just need to head north but I had god luck this run of all runs and now I got 3 barrels and a tent. Pro tip a gardening hoe counts as a shovel/pick for building things.
They don't stack, confirmed this on accident when I told a teammate to take 4 doses of tetracycline for his blood infection; he took all 4 at once, and promptly died 😂
@@zoidelux I don't think that's the case; I believe it's just a matter of taking the same medication twice. I believe each med has an "on" state or "off" state, with a timer. Ergo, you take a multivitamin, and that applies a state along the lines of "multivitamin = on X 5 minutes". You take another multivitamin, that doesn't change your timer to 10 minutes - it sets it back to 5. I hope that helps!

So I've been racking my brain to figure out a certain illness that seems to not be in any topics online. I desperately need help. I have the little amoeba icon and only health is decreasing. The only sounds my character is making are grunts and clearing throat like uggghhh. No sneezing or coughing. Zero meds help. What is this?
I was sick with my combat gloves on. It won't let me use an alcoholic tincture on them. Do I need disinfectant spray or are they just somehow not infected? Please help

@@cookingmedic8849 story was: got in a fire fight, hid in container because of zs at military base. No bandages. My friend found me and bandaged me up and she was sick. I was coughing and sneezing all the way back to base. Took multiple vits and tetras with gloves and mask off. The only cure was was taking off all my clothes, they knifed me and sanitized with iodine and patched me up up and boom gone. No more sickness/ coughing sneezing/ sweating..
So I ORIGINALLY pulled that info from the wiki. But I'm no longer sure how accurate the standalone wiki is. Years of pre alpha and alpha updates can really muddle fact and fiction - hundreds of changes logs later, and sometimes things become dubious. What I can tell you, is the AED is at least still in the game files.

Great video! But one thing, boiling water still doesn't purify it! Get it from a well, or use chlorine tablets to purify it!
Also! The Cold/Flu can be mitigated with Painkillers, stopping your coughing/sneezing for a time.
This video is in DESPERATE need of an update since 1.13 dropped. I'm still pretty sure boiling water purifies it, however.
