People respect Army Officer than IPS, in the heart , Army and IPS is the difference between soul and body. Ips is decorative but Army is both decorative and attractive.
An army officer serve the nation. But an ips officer serve the state.ips officer include in ministry of home affairs. And an army officer include in ministry of defence affairs.
The only disadvantage that majority of youth find in defence forces is the career stagnation after certain rank, the promotional hierarchy is pyramidical and hence only a few officers barely make it upto rank of colonel and many retire just at the rank of lt.colonel and some take premature retirement, the condition in airforce and navy is good because after retirement you can either go into commercial airlines or merchant navy but for army officers the career outside is very difficult and they are only limited to security managers. Whereas in ips there is no question of career stagnation because every ips is assured of IG rank which is equivalent to major general in indian army only after 14 years of service, whereas in army one has to go through promotion boards and minimum of 33 years of service to become major general. So just imagine people here in ips are becoming equivalent to major general rank and withdrawing that salary just after 14 years of service. To add fuel to the fire, the NFU has also been applied to all india services except defence forces which i feel is unfair. These are mostly the views of officers in defence forces who have been superseded and retired at the rank of lt.colonel. My views are evident from the fact that the army, navy and airforce is facing shortage of officers due to premature retirement.
But as compare to army officers, IPS officers exam level is very high no compare to army exam , anyone can easily crack army exams whether of jawans/officers, but for becoming an IPS , "mehnat karte-karte zindagi bahut kuch sikha deti hai". zidd hai upsc cse, aap india ka sabse tough exam dekar IPS bante ho , bhulna mat, and IPS officers life is extremely far better than army officials.

@@shuvamdash8262 really work on statics exams can be made easy or tough if they wish to but not selection on medical and personality and attitude grounds u have more ppl giving army officer exams than civils even if seat is vacent they just leave it if the candidate is not making cut in civil imagine 300 seats and there are 300 people all 300 get this seats in army even if one candidate is not making their standard they just leave seat vacant and no reservation in army interview is million times hard in army ssb goes for days after clearing exams medicals psychometry all sort of trial by fire its hard only thing is that civil has more syllabus to cover tats it which makes exam hard but aptitude of army is some thing else bro no match
IPS officers deals with criminals, it’s also no less than Army in tough work. People who are saying bad things about IPS officers just because of few officers incident, don’t forget that rest 95 to 99 percent officers are doing their job perfectly. It’s just that they deal with public so their activities come to notice to public more compared to Army. And those claiming Army is doing 100% job, you can’t be sure, Army collectively doing good job but there must be also some officers who made mistakes, even disciplinary actions were taken on them, u cannot know those things because military courts are different and works secretly. Makkar dono side milenge, since Army training is more rigorous, percentage of such people will be less in Army. In public dealing, IPS is best, u don’t know what kind of people they have to deal with on daily basis, from arrogant politicians to criminals to gangs to common people…their emotional intelligence is top level

In terms of combat skills, Army officers may be better than IPS but in terms of working under pressure regularly, IPS has a much tougher job. They have to handle citizens, politicians, criminals, lawyers etc. on daily basis irrespective of posting but army is way more insulated from the daily disturbances of the society than the IPS officers.

If it's IPS officer vs Army Officer, then there will be always edge and priority comes with the IPS officer, the IPS officer have the same arms and ammunition training like the Army Officer, but it holds more power and authority than the Army Officer. IPS officer gets the attachment training with all the three wings of the Armed forces for the two weeks. When Army Officer and IPS Officer together in works in Central deputation, then the IPS Officer will be the superior of the Army Officer (you can see the organisation like NSG and NDRF where the Director General of both these organisations are from the IPS background. Same is with the RAW and IB). An IPS Officer can volunteers to take the training of Army Officer even of the Para commando training(You may see Mr. Atul Karwal IPS, who is currently Director of the SVPNA) but an Army Officer cannot volunteer to take the training of IPS Officer. Army can just work in the co-ordination with the police where,the police officers get more priority and holds more power than the Army Officer.

एक IPS जहां भी डिउटी पर रहते हैं वो खुद ही आर्मी,खुद ही नेवी, खुद ही एयर फोर्स, खुद ही पुलिस फोर्स है। वोहा पर आर्मी अफसर का कुछ नही चलेगी। आर्मी अफसर हो या जवान हो, उस पुलिस अफसर का इलाका में कोई गड़बड़ी करने से IPS जो कदम उठाएगा वोही फाइनल होगा। किसी भी आर्मी को पुलिस एरेस्ट कर सकता है मगर आर्मी कोई पुलिस को एरेस्ट नहीं कर सकता। आर्मी का उस इलाके में कोई काम या कुछ भी करना हो तो IPS से इजाजत लेनी पड़ेगी।

For me Defence officer > IAS, IPS
The only disadvantage that majority of youth find in defence forces is the career stagnation after certain rank, the promotional hierarchy is pyramidical and hence only a few officers barely make it upto rank of colonel and many retire just at the rank of lt.colonel and some take premature retirement, the condition in airforce and navy is good because after retirement you can either go into commercial airlines or merchant navy but for army officers the career outside is very difficult and they are only limited to security managers.
Whereas in ips there is no question of career stagnation because every ips is assured of IG rank which is equivalent to major general in indian army only after 14 years of service, whereas in army one has to go through promotion boards and minimum of 33 years of service to become major general. So just imagine people here in ips are becoming equivalent to major general rank and withdrawing that salary just after 14 years of service.
To add fuel to the fire, the NFU has also been applied to all india services except defence forces which i feel is unfair.
These are mostly the views of officers in defence forces who have been superseded and retired at the rank of lt.colonel.
My views are evident from the fact that the army, navy and airforce is facing shortage of officers due to premature retirement.

But as compare to army officers, IPS officers exam level is very high no compare to army exam , anyone can easily crack army exams whether of jawans/officers, but for becoming an IPS , "mehnat karte-karte zindagi bahut kuch sikha deti hai". zidd hai upsc cse, aap india ka sabse tough exam dekar IPS bante ho , bhulna mat, and IPS officers life is extremely far better than army officials.

I wonder if they were able to clear UPSC exam with flying colours then why not the academy specialization exam ,that too in chunks bloody 119 cadets . Man thats a huge number to put forward.

@@shuvamdash8262 really work on statics exams can be made easy or tough if they wish to but not selection on medical and personality and attitude grounds u have more ppl giving army officer exams than civils even if seat is vacent they just leave it if the candidate is not making cut in civil imagine 300 seats and there are 300 people all 300 get this seats in army even if one candidate is not making their standard they just leave seat vacant and no reservation in army interview is million times hard in army ssb goes for days after clearing exams medicals psychometry all sort of trial by fire its hard only thing is that civil has more syllabus to cover tats it which makes exam hard but aptitude of army is some thing else bro no match

WE shouldn't compare Army officers with IPS as they both are an elite proffesions.
IPS officers deals with criminals, it’s also no less than Army in tough work.
People who are saying bad things about IPS officers just because of few officers incident, don’t forget that rest 95 to 99 percent officers are doing their job perfectly. It’s just that they deal with public so their activities come to notice to public more compared to Army.
And those claiming Army is doing 100% job, you can’t be sure, Army collectively doing good job but there must be also some officers who made mistakes, even disciplinary actions were taken on them, u cannot know those things because military courts are different and works secretly.
Makkar dono side milenge, since Army training is more rigorous, percentage of such people will be less in Army.
In public dealing, IPS is best, u don’t know what kind of people they have to deal with on daily basis, from arrogant politicians to criminals to gangs to common people…their emotional intelligence is top level

In terms of combat skills, Army officers may be better than IPS but in terms of working under pressure regularly, IPS has a much tougher job. They have to handle citizens, politicians, criminals, lawyers etc. on daily basis irrespective of posting but army is way more insulated from the daily disturbances of the society than the IPS officers.

If it's IPS officer vs Army Officer, then there will be always edge and priority comes with the IPS officer, the IPS officer have the same arms and ammunition training like the Army Officer, but it holds more power and authority than the Army Officer. IPS officer gets the attachment training with all the three wings of the Armed forces for the two weeks. When Army Officer and IPS Officer together in works in Central deputation, then the IPS Officer will be the superior of the Army Officer (you can see the organisation like NSG and NDRF where the Director General of both these organisations are from the IPS background. Same is with the RAW and IB). An IPS Officer can volunteers to take the training of Army Officer even of the Para commando training(You may see Mr. Atul Karwal IPS, who is currently Director of the SVPNA) but an Army Officer cannot volunteer to take the training of IPS Officer. Army can just work in the co-ordination with the police where,the police officers get more priority and holds more power than the Army Officer.
