I hope more people WAKE UP and see this. EV battery thermal runaway is also a thing. An EV battery recycling plant in Scotland just recently had a huge fire caused from trying to recycle these batteries and there is a reason why EVs are becoming harder to insure and their resale value is basically nothing.

53 % of Chinese lithium seems to come from Australia.

While they are not emiters of co2 much of the charging station energy may be produced by carbon based plants .

Not a single furnace in sight, I suggest they only recycle copper and aluminium and store the black mass hoping to sell it..! Coulda, woulda, shoulda.!

What, gave in half way through. Lots of words, repeated words. Please be more quantitive , show better the quantitive argument.
I leave not knowing if recyclability is efficient or not.

where did you get all this BS? Batteries are being recycled properly in rich countries, improperly in poor countries ... like with all electronics, plastics ...etc...

This is what I understand as well, in proper channels, ewaste and specifically battery waste goes to smelters (often the same ones that process minerals) in Europe and Asia. It certainly could be cleaner and new methods aim to lower impact. The challenge with much of e-waste is keeping out of landfills, which falls all of us as discarding small electronics in the trash is the default. Almost everything has a battery in it these days. Big eV batteries are too big to do that, so they stand a much better chance to being recycled, just like everything of value in scrap autos.

All this is old BS they're just recycling it and don't get me started on trains the nearest train is 306kms away.
