Kate explains which types of subsurface features electrical and electromagnetic geophysics can image, including groundwater, contaminants and leachates, and magmas and tectonic fluids. She also describe how her own research, which focusses on deeply penetrating electromagnetics (magnetotellurics) and her applications of this technique to understanding past tectonics and current sea level change.
