Using the feet to lock the cutter to the edge of the table is a good trick, if they're not sufficient to hold it in place on the flat surface.

Another great video! I wish I had easier access to the thicker foam so I could get big blocks like you work with.

Love the tutorials "rubber feet" we call the round things at the bottom of the hot wire tool. Here is the USA our foam comes in a 2 foot by 2 foot by 1" thick sheets. Even those need some cutting down this is great way to cut up the foam like the "support" block on the end I have to look for a foot switch that is a good way

They come 4'x8' and thicker than 1" to boot here in tge States.

Some areas in the US don't get the larger/thicker sheets. Where I am at I can get the 4'x8'x1" sheets but I have to go on a road trip to find the 2" thick. A few years ago you couldn't even get the 1" but enough of us complained, both crafters and builders.

They do have a proper name, but most people call them rubber feet. Good tips thanks for the vid.

What do you do when you cut an edge in your foam? How do you get a straight edge to repair it!

Zou de MDF guider niet om de reling passen als er een inkeping in zou zitten? dan zou je het beste van allebei hebben, nietwaar?

Hey Gerard, how straight would you say those cuts are for the larger pieces when you use the Proxxon’s arm as the guide? I want to make multiple 12”x12” tiles that line up evenly, but haven’t found a great method yet to do so. Was thinking of having some sort of heavy “guide” on the table next to it, but your technique seems easier.
    Love your products and tutorials!

Hi PTT; The arm can be a great guider but the in my experience the fist inch could be off a bit since you turn the sheet slightly at first when moving the sheet tothe wire. A guide (as a guider pro or 2.0 would be better because then you have a good cut from the beginning. And yes, a guider of some sort that is placed on the other side of the wire (outside the working space of a regular proxxon would work better (although that is a bit more work to set it all up decently.
I can / might do a video about working with 2 proxxon machines to explain this type of cutting. I made a not of this since that might be a nice "out of the box" topic.

@@Shiftinglands thanks for the detailed reply. That makes sense with the rotation at the beginning making even edges difficult. I’ll go ahead and try setting up a guide off of the Proxxon. Definitely interested to see how you’d use 2 Proxxons for this style of cutting!
