Man you didn't just kill it, you *destroyed* it! The intro is tricky and you nailed it big time...awesome! Love all the fills you did, especially the one at 2:07, that one was super cool for sure!
@@Edwin_ReggaeDrummer Hey no probs bro! To be honest I'm building the drum track for this song on an Alesis machine, and I was having trouble counting the intro, as I mentioned it's darned tricky. I use a DigiTech looper in my gigs, with each loop being a different song. l lay down all the instrumentation other than my guitar and vocals and my bass player's bass line and vocals on a Tascam 24 track console and then bounce it down to the looper, and I'm working on this song. I do some songs with fairly tricky drum tracks, like the Purdie Shuffle on Babylon Sisters. Took me a couple weeks to get that one programmed! But a BIG thanks for your video, it was a huge help getting that intro done properly, I just couldn't get the groove down until I watched you doing it. For sure I'll be checking your channel from here out. Keep up the great work...!
Brother, you nailed that groove. Something I can't quite figure out is which beats push and which pull. I can play it and feel it (on the bass), but I can't tell if the 2 is pushed or pulled, and the swing on the hats befuddles me as well. It's abounce but I can't put my finger on where and how it bounces.
It's funny but as I listen to this version, your groove is actually way heavier than the original. The original has a nice kind of skip to it, but this performance means business. It's subtle but it's noticeable. Respect, geez!
