This song has withstood the test of time, but if you were there at the time it came out, if you were into hip-hop and heard this song, you knew right away-this is something else, something different, unique, distinguishable from anything or anyone else before, during, and now we know nothing that came after even comes close. This is hip-hop, no formulas, nostandards, totally new samples, styles, flow, lyrics, everything. One of the best rap songs of all time.
Funky ass beats and samples, with immense lyrical integrity is the reason why these late 80s and 90s artists have withstood the test of time. Today's ridiculous so-called rap could never live up to this kind of legacy!

I went to Chuck's lecture and it was amazing. The whole crowd gasped when he said he loved Elvis. He explained that the Elvis reference in this song wasn't about him, but a construct of the entertainment industry using Elvis to capitalize on the music of black people. He then went on to say that Elvis was actually one of black people's biggest ally, in that he would never perform without his black backups and he always gave credit to the black community/artists.

Kampsy well ice cube fristly stole cypress' beat for one of his songs and then ice cube gets beat up for his rolex and chain and the guy who beat him (silo) gave it to cypress and then he dissed him.
Cube rightfully left N.W.A. Also, the guy who beat him was Shawn "Solo" Fonteno, did not take his Rolex, it was actually the Westside Truce Chain. Later returned to Cube
Most of you guys in the comments ARE TOO YOUNG TO REMEMBER that this song was used in a pivotal scene of the 1992 film "Juice" ... the title of the song makes total sense in the context of the film. The film was set in NYC and this was on the Juice Soundtrack, which is why Cypress Hill, an L.A. area rap group, filmed this in NYC.

@@fofivefella2254 it is kind of scary though right I mean if you've been alive since late the 80s it's strange that for some of us time maybe coming to an end or at least on this plane of existence period so kind of bothers me but I feel like I'll be okay when I leave my body hopefully LOL kind of sound like I'm second-guessing myself here
good taste in music brought me here!

I remember this song when it first came out in the early 90's as a Lil kid. The crime & murder rate was sky high. This song fit that time
+Rob Lo ironically ya When the Ronny king happened also so dumb/crazy people doing that shit.
+Mi Horrorshow Rodney man

Covid has brought us together, to hear this song.
Yeah
15/06/2021 france still as good !!!
The guitar tho

Funky ass beats and samples, with immense lyrical integrity is the reason why these late 80s and 90s artists have withstood the test of time.
Today's ridiculous so-called rap could never live up to this kind of legacy!
They do say history repeats itself…
@@enxgmatxcofficial
Not with the rap genre, it conspicuously appears. History, can also become lost and forgotten history with no revitalization of those certain times.
Also known as - Ancient History.
I went to Chuck's lecture and it was amazing. The whole crowd gasped when he said he loved Elvis. He explained that the Elvis reference in this song wasn't about him, but a construct of the entertainment industry using Elvis to capitalize on the music of black people. He then went on to say that Elvis was actually one of black people's biggest ally, in that he would never perform without his black backups and he always gave credit to the black community/artists.
can't believe they aired this on MTV. only the 90s
Saw JUICE ( the movie ) with my pops in 92 i was 6 year old kid in NYC .. my pops brought the soundtrack the same day and i fell in love with this song.
Shoutout : Radio Los Santos
+Shawn Rios classic film. love it. I remember seeing someone in that movie wearing a Fishbone shirt which made me later on check that band out as well.
+Shawn Rios this song wasn't on the Juice soundtrack. You had to get the LP! Great Song!
Shawn Rios
These guys had an arsenal of solid tunes.
That’s a fact
4 classic albums in a row, few can top that. After IV, it went downhill a bit imo.
Man this shit was banging in the early 90s bro. Wish i could go back!
I am not a Mexican , but I am Latino too and here I am listening in the 2021 still , greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
Well they aren't Mexican either.
Ironically, it was Ice Cube who pointed out that the group consists of:
1 White Boy
2 Cubans
@Joseortega7815 B-real is Mexican
Aww when hip hop spread a message that is true. Old School still the best!
My shit back in the day, brings back good times..🔥👍👍

So good to see Ice Cube and Cypress Hill getting along so well
Guy on roof: “You’ve got the juice now”
Q: “😐 smh!”
Wotta film
*kid on the roof
Classic movie
I think cypress hill is very underrated in usa. Im from europe and for us they are one of the greatest of all time
"How do you know where im at when you dont know where ive been, understand where im comin from?" - felt that
0:32 oh shit i never noticed Ice Cube in this vid
Remember they had diss tracks to each other?
in my opinion I think cypress hill won that beef because although Ice Cube had some bars, Cypress Hill had some bars too PLUS they took the beat that Ice Cube used to diss them. That shit was crazy lol
Kampsy well ice cube fristly stole cypress' beat for one of his songs and then ice cube gets beat up for his rolex and chain and the guy who beat him (silo) gave it to cypress and then he dissed him.
Not to mention Shag, in Cube Killa, sounds just like Cube did in the beginning of his career 😂 so just another point for Cypress Hill.
Cube rightfully left N.W.A.
Also, the guy who beat him was Shawn "Solo" Fonteno, did not take his Rolex, it was actually the Westside Truce Chain. Later returned to Cube
cristi557 get your facts right kid.
King of the Hill was pretty epic though, I always looked at it as a draw.
What, you gonna shoot me in the elevator?
i bet also nobody knows where the 'all i wanted was a pepsi' at the end came from suicidal tendencies
i just heard my mom listening to it and i searched it up
Most of “YOU” guys are too young to remember Rage as an underground band. I have no clue what “Juice” is about; but, I remember seeing it at a Blockbuster store. Thanks to you, I want to watch it, now.
@@1scarewolf kids today will have no clue what a blockbuster store is either
This track takes me back to "Juice". R.I.P 2pac👑.

Good times.

Cypress definitely engrained in the genres history & rightly so. Keeping in great company alongside other 90s rap groups like D12, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Outkast, Wu Tang Clan . . .
& there's no mistaking theyr sound - super iconic & distinctive.
I played the first 3 Cypress Hill tapes constantly in the 90’s. It was Weed, Cypress Hill and my game boy. Miss those days.
2:36 they don’t make simple beats like that anymore. Still in my head till this day.
Yes- miss a simple but gangster beat. Mass appeal by Gangstarr coming to mind.
This beat is crazy
